MunkiMom · 25/08/2008 10:37

Good Morning all!

so i keep myself busy for a few days with the hubby and ds only to check back here with a novel to read and catch up on! wow, there's so much going on with you all.

sounds like we have at least 2 babies now!??!
wonderful news~! congrats to crabby and sunshine! anyone else feeling rush of bursting waters today ?

and to anything and anyone i've missed, just hope you are all doing well in general.

i'm in my 36th week now. nerves are creeping up! still no name! hmmm would ya think its ok to call the new ds "Hey You"? or Boy? siiiiiigggghhhh!

On another note, DH has booked a few days off work next week and has asked if i'd like to go anywhere or see anything. i have to be honest though, i'm a little nervous for going outta town (even if its just a couple hours away) being 37weeks. however, at the same time i'd kinda like to take the opportunity to go away for a couple nights with dh & ds before the "storm" of the new family member. wedding anniversary is the 22nd, ds1 will be 2years old on the 25th, and the EDD is the 20th! . so, perhaps you can see see my dilemma

any advice?

I have an appt with the consult tomorrow morning. i can't wait, really! i asked the MW at the last appt why i was having it, she said it was due to my previous C/s. but then i asked a pal of mine and she said everyone sees the consultant in the last few weeks. ???? well, either way, i'm sure i will be told the position of the beebee and i'm going to guess that all looks well to have an ok trial of labour. fingers crossed...anyone else have a prior c/s with a successful VagBirth (ok that doesnt sound nice so i'll just call it VBAC)?

hope you all have a luverly bank holiday

MunkiMom · 25/08/2008 10:38

one more thing
mustsleep
sorry to hear about your cat!
hope she's better soon...
and a huge relief that you have pet insurance, eh?!?!

((note to self: must get that sorted!))

MunkiMom · 25/08/2008 10:42

oh deary me, i'm allll over the place this morning!!

((i think its a sign to step away from the laptop for a bit!))

poxtola good luck for tomorrow!!!
looking forward to hearing of your darling wee one!

bikerunski · 25/08/2008 10:47

hi meglet yes, that was me with awful MS. Was hospitalised with hyperemisis for the best part of 6 weeks, but thankfully all over now, and have been fine from 16 weeks - nearly 21 weeks ago now!

MunkiMom It on Wednesday, but tomorrow I have the pre-op chat.

jenpet · 25/08/2008 11:49

Good luck Potxola - you sound very organised and sorted, I'm sure it will all go very smoothly.

I so wish I knew when it was all going to happen! I remember feeling like this last time, it is so frustrating not being able to plan!

Mustsleep bad news about your cat. We were adopted by a stray back in the winter who had 4 gorgeous kittens back at the beginning of July, and I've just found lovely new homes for two of them today, so I'm quite chuffed about that!

mellabella · 25/08/2008 12:25

does anyone else feel like crawling the walls at the moment? I'm seriously feeling like I can't wait any longer till this baby is out!!

Last night I was up till 3 because the heartburn was so terrible and the little guy was kicking and squirming so I'm just exhausted today. I don't know how I'm going to hold on another month of being like this!!

Sorry for the vent, I feel like I'm pacing the house waiting for baby to be ready and am basically just going mad at the thought of growing even bigger and aching for the next 4 weeks (or more, which I'm just praying won't happen!!)

ahhhh so frustrated!!

meglet · 25/08/2008 13:08

mella I'm fed up too . Nearly 38 weeks so am happy for baby to arrive now. I keep cleaning and tidying to keep myself occupied. I would like my body back and no more heartburn / breathlessness!!! arrgghhhh! At least I only have 10 days until the c-section.

Got to go to the anaesthetic clinic on Weds to be measured and prodded. DP has decided he wants to come too so he knows what is happening. I am half convinced I am going to die during the op and DS will be left motherless, I am very good at worrying .

potxola · 25/08/2008 14:52

THANKS Jempet Starlight* Do you know what I am doing? Washing all the new sheets and towels I have bought for her. At the end I decided to wash everything that was new, .....something to do while waiting for the day to arrive.

Meglet !0 days is nothing. It will be so fast that you won't believe it is over. The only thing that will remind us we have just had major surgery is that we won't be able to stand up, but the baby will be there alive and kicking.

becaroo · 25/08/2008 15:17

poxtola Good luck for tomorrow and d day I hope you and Lorea will be home soon x

Have I missed news re: sunshine???

mamamufin · 25/08/2008 16:28

Awwwww its really getting nearer for us now guys.
poxtola I am so excited for you for wednesday . Rest up beforehand as much as possible. It must be great to know exactly when you get to meet lorea. Sending you lots of love x
Does anyone know if you went overdue with your first child, does it make it more likely to happen again? Only asking because I was 2 weeks over last time and I am really ready now.
munkimom Ive never seen a consultant .
No news from sunshine?
No news form eandz today either. I wonder if her pain has gone.
mellabella I sympathise with the heartburn.
Gosh I ache around the hip back area x

mellabella · 25/08/2008 17:13

does anyone else get weird sensitive spots on their bumps from too many kicks? my little guy has a favorite spot and even if i touch the skin it feels like a knife. ouch!

found a cool website on figuring out which way your baby is laying.
www.spinningbabies.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=20&Itemid=28&showall=1

meglet at least you've got a date where you know it's all going to be over and you get to see the new little cutie. I feel like a ticking time bomb at the moment without a clue on when the big show is supposed to start. it's my first so i feel like it's sort of like a game of russian roulette.

notcitrus · 25/08/2008 17:46

mella - my whole bump is sensitive. Actually, my whole torso has been for months, so I've been wearing a couple soft stretchy jersey cotton skirts and soft cotton T-shirts. No nasty maternity trousers - I couldn't deal with all the buttons and buckles each time I needed the loo!

Squirmy's new trick is to make my bump triangular if I lie in the bath or any other position he doesn't like. Not sure if he's sitting up or what!

Back to bed now - went to a friend's barbecue yesterday and made some cake for it, so now I'm completely shattered. I really do seem to need over 16 hours sleep a day. Bah.

Sassafrass · 25/08/2008 17:53

Good luck tomorrow Potxola, I can imagine you're both excited and nervous.

I think I've managed to get mastitis =( My right breast hurts something dreadful and I feel feverish and achy. Will go see my gp tomorrow. There's no engorgement though and I thought dd was latching on well as she's happy after feeds and I didn't have any pain as she was feeding. Am in absolute agony now though.

hopefully · 25/08/2008 17:58

Notcitrus Do you mean the middle of your bump is in a kind of peak in a line from naval upwards? I get that, and it's from my abdominal muscles parting apparently. Lovely.

Poor you Sass! Not what you want in the final stages of pregnancy. Are you planning on tandem feeding? I always wondered how that works - does the older baby not mind suddenly being faced with colustrum instead of milk, or does the milk composition vary from someone not tandem feeding?

Ooh, just making sausages and yorkshire puddings and gravy for dinner. Another slimming meal in the Hopefully household!

kiskidee · 25/08/2008 18:11

Sass, feed more often from the sore side. If at all possible, latch dd on with her chin pointing at the sorest spot. If it means her being at a funny angle, feeding lying down with her on top of you (you lying flat on your back) at whatever angle that happens to be.

You are free to take as many ibuprofens as necessary. It is better than paracetamol for the inflammation and the fever and is completely safe with bfing.

kiskidee · 25/08/2008 18:14

Lots more wiggling and strange pains then prodding lower down last night. The bottom of my bump, where it creases before my fanjo is extremely sore, making walking painful.

i think this one has dropped some more. I have a mw appt tomorrow so will be finding out soon enough.

kiskidee · 25/08/2008 18:15

but does anyone else knows if i am right or is it something else? v.v. curious.

meglet · 25/08/2008 18:27

oh sassfrass hope your GP can sort you out tomorrow. I've never had mastitis and I really hope I never get it, it seems really grim.

becaroo · 25/08/2008 18:30

Me too kiskidee! so if your midwife knows what it is.....tell me!!!

I also get really sharp pains you know where when I open my legs too wide - like when getting in and out of bed or in and out of the car...most odd. Cant remember that from last time.

Just realised if this baby comes when my ds did I only have 6 more days to go!!!

So very fed up. Was suppsed to be going out fo tea, but lunch is still trying to work its way back up my windpipe at the moment so decided not to go

starlight Is it you thats now on Omeprazole too? If so, when do you take yours????

mustsleep · 25/08/2008 18:42

sass hope you feel better that sounds terrible!!

the cat is fine thanks everyone have just been to collect her and she is a little quiet and subdued and just slept but she has been eating at the vets so she should be fine- have to take her backin 48 hours for another check up though

one thing the vet did say was if she has had diaorhea (sp?) that i should defo not clean it up as if they have a funny tummy it can be sign of toxoplasmosis and to be ultra extra careful!!

mustsleep · 25/08/2008 18:45

oh i bought my pineapple and am going to eat it tonight and will let you know if it does start things off

went to buy some raspberry leaf tabs and couldn;t get any went to boots and the girl behind the counter looked at me like i was mad and asked me what i wanted them for
and then tried sainsburys and got much the same response there even from the pharmacist!!
asda didn;t have any either
and neither sainsburys or asda had any rasperry leaf tea
i did get some cranberry, raspberry and elderflower tea is that worth a go or just completely different?

MunkiMom · 25/08/2008 18:45
