GBB NO!!! what they put it....down there?

JamInMyWellies · 07/08/2008 14:50

NO GBB lalalalalalalala

lal07 · 07/08/2008 14:55

Am in SE London - and am trying this woman: www.londonacupuncturespace.com/about-us.htm

But happy to get other recommendations...I honestly can't say enough what a lifesaver homeopathy was with mastitis. Just took phytolacca and never had another problem. I also took remedies to help with labour and (please don't hate me for this) actually sort of enjoyed most of it so agree very good idea. Sorry can't remember which but will have to find out nearer time so will post then.

lal07 · 07/08/2008 14:56

Blimey. Think I would prefer being sick....

Olipop · 07/08/2008 15:01

sympathies on the sickness lal. I felt rough at the beginning but couldn't bear it if it had continued....you poor thing.
Acupuncture can help I think...I have read it in numerous places.

Desperate to know where the needle goes for fertility...could they stick it in the man too do you think? I think it is unfair that it is only us girls who get the painful bits!

I've just had a lovely lunch break buying gifts for a girl in our office who is going off on maternity leave. It was such fun looking at tiddly clothes!!

JamInMyWellies · 07/08/2008 15:07

i was booked in for accupuncture whe DS went overdue, but he decided to pop out right at the last mo. Would defo reccommend it for helping out with aches and pains.

Sorry would like to do a long catch up post but you all chat so much I havnt got a snowballs chance in hell of remembering what you have all been talking about. So just going to do a big hola to everyone.

waitinggirl · 07/08/2008 15:22

re: acupuncture - i had it to sort out long and irregular cycles as i was getting impatient with waiting to get pregnant after the 2 m/c last year and, blimey did it work first time! never really believed in anything like that, but i had been charting temperatures and gooey bits down below and every time i went, either i got gooeyer (like you wanted to know) or my temperature went up, and then we were pregnant. i would definitely try it again for other issues.

and nothing gory for me - the needles went in my wrists, in below my knees, in my ankles and feet. sorry to be boring

Veggiemummy · 07/08/2008 15:51

lal i'm getting DH to find how to treat me during birth. Most things were pretty good for DS's birth but may have been good to settle me and possibly move things along (2nd stage was 3 hrs) I have bought the the Helios childbirth kit and also on a bunch of other New Era remedies twice a day which i have to say have been great i haven't had any vomiting (was having the odd spontaneous spew) and no indigestion. as well as generally feeling a lot better.

olipop agree that boys should have to go through stuff too if having trouble with conception, but knowing how protective they are about their bits not sure if sticking a pin in the end of it would be a good idea, might make it worse.

Olipop · 07/08/2008 16:12

but wouldn't it make you feel a bit better!!!!

Beans33 · 07/08/2008 16:16

Just been to MW - was fine. All results normal, which is good. Had sudden panic about syphilis for absolutely no reason I can fathom. Weird how preggy brain works. But there was no way I could have it, so was slightly odd. But luckily, I don't!

Was quite quick really - quick chat, listened to heartbeat, dipstick in wee, blood pressure taken and all in all was fine. Am now left feeling slightly like "Was that it?!". But it is all a bit in and out from now on, I think. Every 4 weeks sounds an awful lot of appointments!

Anyhoo, very happy that all is well in the world of bambino. Struggled to find its heartbeat as it was moving away from her prodding! Good baby! I like its moves!!!

Beans33 · 07/08/2008 16:16

PS I'm intrigued GBB - where does the needle go???!

TheInvisibleHand · 07/08/2008 16:23

Goodness, too much too catch up on - but daisydora and lal07, so sorry to hear you are suffering!

Re acupuncture etc - the Active Birth Centre in Archway has all sorts of alternative therapists including an acupuncturists who specialise in pregnant ladies! Not tried any of them out myself, but did do antenatal yoga there last time round (must sign up again!) and they were very good. So if North London is handy for anyone, it might be worth a try.

GettingBiggerBird · 07/08/2008 16:27

Do you really want to know, everyone ?

GettingBiggerBird · 07/08/2008 16:29

Look away now if you're of a nervous or squeemish disposition.......In the perineum. Ouch. Mind you, that's a bit of our bodies we'll have to get more familiar with in the coming months. Just not sure how I'd feel about it being used for acupuncture...

Beans33 · 07/08/2008 16:32

EUW!!!! That's making my eyes water already!

EffiePerine · 07/08/2008 16:32
Olipop · 07/08/2008 16:35

Geeeeeeez!

zoejeanne · 07/08/2008 16:42

Surely, that was just a mean acupuncturist, no nice person would do that.

LadyThompson · 07/08/2008 16:46

Oh God. I think that's more than a little sadistic!

And I am happy to stay on distant waving terms with my perineum for now, I think.

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 07/08/2008 17:00

i'm quite familiar with my perineum (oh that came out wrong), i mean i'm quite happy for therapists and health professionals to do what they do down there but not sure how i feel about someone popping a pin in it.

mibbes · 07/08/2008 17:00

OMG ! That has to be wrong ! I know a few ladies on TTC threads who are trying acupuncture and none of them have mentioned dodgy needles down there.... they all seem to fancy the acupuncturist though so maybe they don't mind !
Beans good news that all is well and LOL at preggy panic ! Look forward to hearing the HB tomorrow

JamInMyWellies · 07/08/2008 17:00

That has just made me involuntarily do several pelvic floors.

JollyBear · 07/08/2008 17:05

Oh my goodness! I know a few ladies on the TTC threads who have tried acupuncture but I've never heard of them putting a needle... there

Lal I'm still throwing up if it makes you feel any better knowing you are not alone. If the tablets they gave you don't help then make sure you go back as there are loads of different ones they can try. I'm still sick now and again on these tablets (ondansatron) but feel so much better than I did. I know what you mean about the weight comments. My MIL told me I looked much better with a bit of weight off . At the time I'd lost a stone, and felt like death!

Beans33 · 07/08/2008 17:07

What'sTTC threads please?

JollyBear · 07/08/2008 17:28

TTC= Trying to conceive - discussed lots on the conception board. Cross-posted with mibbes there, we know the same ladies! They all have a bit of a crush don't they?! He does sound lovely
