New thread, people, unless someone else has started one...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Veggiemummy · 05/08/2008 16:38

do you know i can't remember for def if you can get them from supermarkets but boots would have them, and also can buy them online pretty cheap. also mothercare and all those type of shops. you can get disposables or reusable ones too. just get some that are soft on the inside as you don't want scratchy sore nipples too. The lanisoh ones already suggested are good.

whats a onezies

Beans33 · 05/08/2008 16:40

HAHAHA! I love that, Veggie! Feel like I've been very vocal today - think it's because I'm feeling a bit stressed with work etc. Knew my good mood couldn't last forever! Hopefully it'll come back soon!

Veggiemummy · 05/08/2008 16:48

beans your mood is fine it's all those around you that are the problem

Beans33 · 05/08/2008 16:57

That is definitely what it is, thanks Veggie! Arseholes, the lot of them. HEH HEH!

rosmerta · 05/08/2008 17:19

lol, this thread has cheered me up a bit . And ds as well, hard to stay annoyed when you've got a toddler doing funny & bizarre things all the time!

majormoo · 05/08/2008 17:47

thanks for the head lice advice.

Abby-I had a horrible sickness bug late on in my pregnancy with DS but all was fine.

Reban/pixsix how worrying for you both but hope all is fine. like EP said maybe you have a low-lying placenta pixsix?

JamInMyWellies · 05/08/2008 17:49

Annagt, just a quick one reg breast pads are not the most attractive of things so try these they are great

RhinestoneCowgirl · 05/08/2008 18:44

I was quite leaky when pg last time, think it started around 24 weeks. Didn't happen during the day much, but used to wake up with wet pyjama top. Strangely I didn't leak much after the first couple of weeks when feeding DS. I used washable Lansinoh breastpads, together with some cheapy ones from the supermarket I think.

JamInMyWellies · 05/08/2008 18:50

veggie onzies are I think sleepsuits

Veggiemummy · 05/08/2008 18:59

oh jamin those lillypadz look great.

Veggiemummy · 05/08/2008 19:00

would be good to wear on other boob while feeding to avoid the squirts

GettingBiggerBird · 05/08/2008 19:15

Hi everyone, struggling to keep up with all the news. So I'll just talk about me . Had my scan today and was so happy to find out we're having a boy and a girl, just perfect. They both seem to be all present and correct too. Such a relief. Sending good vibes out to those of you still waiting.

Very impressed at leaky boobs, I didn't have them at all even when BF'ing and never really seemed to have quite enough milk for DD, ended up having to either express for hours later on or supplement. It's probably no consolation now though, just a nuisance - but maybe a good sign for later?

Veggiemummy · 05/08/2008 19:23

congrats Bird a boy and a girl thats brilliant.

missmama · 05/08/2008 19:37

Veggiemummy I bought a Cotton Bottoms birth to potty pack off eBay a while ago I do not, I repeat do not want to hear anything bad about them OK?

rosmerta · 05/08/2008 19:48

hi gbb nice to see you, how lovely to be having boy & girl!

JamInMyWellies · 05/08/2008 19:48

GBB thats great news!

Veggie they are good but not if you leak ALOT brill for wearing once you have the milk settled down a bit and you want to go out without looking like you have 2 flying saucers stuck to your boobs.

Veggiemummy · 05/08/2008 19:50

oh no no no don't get me wrong the actual brand is great (esp if you got them cheap on ebay) i just found i only used them up to about 8months then started getting the shaped ones as they were easy when out. The main reason i started off with those is they dry quicker and we were in a little flat so limited room for hanging out loads of nappies which take ages to dry but then i was seduced by the colourful shaped ones when we moved, actually i'm a bit of a cloth nappy addict i have just about every style going as went a bit crazy on them on ebay. Luckily they can all still be used for this next one.

Flumpybumpy · 05/08/2008 19:55

lady t Because DD1 was early they said I needed to go in at 38wks, they woul dhave delayed it to 39wks otherwise, but are concerned that I shouldn't go into spontaneous labour.

The MATB1 form is what you need to gibe your employed so they can claim and pay you Statutory Maternity Pay. Don't lose it as they cannot issue another one. You need to give it to your employed sooner rather than later along with a letter stating you are preganat and when your due date is etc..... Check your contract for your company's full maternity policy.

Thats good to hear Veggiemummy. Got them V cheap actually, £50 for the complete set, plus extras, I wont be needing to buy any nappy liners for the first year . Lots of nice colourful wraps too.

GettingBiggerBird great news. One of each so you wont need anymore then
Have my scan Thursday getting excited now.

Indith · 05/08/2008 20:15

How exciting GBB Clearly something about a boy/girl combo as there is a lady on my Dec 06 thread expecting some too.

A friend of mine leaked all the time (she may still do, was last time I heard and her dd is about 21 months now). She couldn't wear lilypadz as they shot off! She used to wear breast shells while feeding and sometimes around the house and would collect several oz easily.

Oddly, on the milk front I was still producing some if I had a squeeze in early preg having not yet dried up from ds but now I don't. Have shot up in size though

It is all about tryy squares with cloth nappies. I adore them. Have a load of size one fluffles from when ds was born but love my squares so much more. Def worth trying a few different ones out. A lot of places sell little kits with a few different nappies. I started on cloth pretty much right away, I think if I'd taken a couple of weeks to get used to having a baby I wouldn't have got round to it for fear of more work.

Veggiemummy · 05/08/2008 20:32

i think my DS only had a little bottom (was 8lb 2oz) as he swam in the cotton bottoms. I also love the old terry ones that was what i was always used to from my early days in paeds nursing (it's all disposables now). But as DS got bigger i got into the shaped ones as was good when we were out and also i loved that the colours covered up the stains. We never used the liners as DS was a loose poo-er for ages and they didn't really hold much for him.

mibbes · 05/08/2008 20:36

Beans LOL at your stiff upper lip yoga ! I feel the same in my living room doing the ummmmmm...! Pramercise - Is there really such a thing ?! Oh and I am also a former runner/jogger, was advised to stop after an early bleed - look forward to getting back to it - ha but remind me of that in Feb when it is freezing cold and I can't be bothered !
Good news about the GTT Effie
waiting one of my friends felt no movement until 28 weeks with both of her children - all the best tomorrow.
reban my baby's head measured 2 weeks ahead of the rest of his body - sonographer didn't mention it, I just noticed when I read the notes.
abby how did you get on at the GP ?
pixsix sorry to hear you are going through such stress - {{big hugs}} xx
Annagt I read recently that after 20 weeks it is normal to leak a small amount of colostrum.
GBB aaah that is lovely, one of each
You lot and your food chat - I am desperate for chocolate now !

Veggiemummy · 05/08/2008 20:50

i've been bad DH is away from tomorrow until next monday and i have just done the Ocado shop for delivery tomorrow and there are lot of things with chocolate in the ingredients, i am thinking i might need it as i am home alone for a few days.

rosmerta · 05/08/2008 20:57

I really need to get my yoga dvd. Inflated my birth ball today & have been using that loads to sit on. Ds also enjoyed it!

There's also Buggyfit which sounds v similar to Pramercise

rosmerta · 05/08/2008 20:57
