Sazzles do you need more things to throw? Plates make a wonderful sound and are very dramatic. Vases too. Plus if you hit DH with one of them they are more likely to leave a reminder mark. MEN!! {{{{HUGS}}}}

Sazzles just a quickie to say good luck and I'm sure all will be well. It's just never straightforward is it? Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

oopsacoconut · 07/07/2008 22:18

Sazzle I totally understand where you are coming from - you have enough on your plate with VBAC thoughts and what has already happened in this/previous pregnacy's without any complicating factors that may affect your birth. When you speak to M/Wife tomorrow insist on seeing a consultant - then he/she can talk you through what to expect and organise scan. PLease now STAY AWAY FROM GOOGLE it will only make your anxiety worse. Do you know what side Bubs head is on? try lying on the opposite side to see if you can make her move. Try sleep tonight and let us know what m/w says in the morning.

oopsacoconut · 07/07/2008 22:22

Night night all hope you get some good quality sleep tonight.

Sazzles if there was a fibroid tumor noted why hasn't anyone spoken to you about it? Seems bad-medicine to NOT discuss something that could cause such a problem. Will you be able to contact someone first thing tomorrow to discuss this?

Could the sonographer been talking out of his/her ass???

Can a tumor be present then disappear???

evening all, after an incredibly slow start I've actually got a fair bit done today. nursery has had all its various bits covered in gloss paint so it'll hopefully be finished by the end of the week! Pip was pretty quiet while i was painting, he probably didn't like being crunched up with me bending down but he's making up for it now!

forgot to say earlier.. having accepted that i was already as wet as i could possibly get on the walk home, i decided it was time to jump in some puddles! i had so much fun!

oops there seems to be a fair amount of info on the wonderweb but i'm not going to turn down info. happy to switch our conversation to email if the details are too gory for here! (miamla at hotmail.com)
lol. seems i've started quite a chat on here about perineums!!

pregnancy1 you had a pierced tummy button?? you don't seem the type! how scandolous! ;)
mine's still mostly an innie with moments of being a flattie and occasionally an outie but sssh don't tell anyone!

annvan the nct group round here has a regular lunch meeting thing and they do lots of stuff in the evenings as well so despite moving to the area too late to join any of the classes, i will still be meeting a fair few local mums and mums to be. And of course as preg1 said, make it known where you live on here and there's bound to be a local or two around

sazzles pop round here, i'll give you a hug

i've been an absolute pig tonight.. i cooked enough pasta for DP and my dinner, he phoned to say he'd eaten so I ate his as well! but you know the best bit? i had pudding too! oink oink

Congratulations TS, eleven years is well worth celebrating!

Sazzles, sorry you're having a rotten day - hope you can get some more helpful answers tomorrow.

PF, fewer friends with babies, I'm sure! We're very nearly the first of our friends to take the plunge so the one or two pressies I've had to buy I may have given in to temptation to splash out a bit . Mind you, there are some less expensive things on there if you have time to dig a bit - though that is another kind of luxury, I know!

Right, time for bed. Good night all.

AnnVan · 07/07/2008 23:07

TS, sounds lovely. You do get such great take aways in US. Never orget gorgeous Italian takeaway in Westchester. mmmmmm.
Is anyone else still up?

miamla · 07/07/2008 23:11

hi annvan, i'm still here. DP gallavanting tonight so i'm surfing and lurking

AnnVan · 07/07/2008 23:18

My sleeping pattern has gone a bit topsy turvy lately. I've also found only thing that helps restless legs is to get into bed only when absolutely drop-dead exhausted, so I fall asleep quickly. DP has just gone to bed, so I'm up by myself doing the sudoku in today's London Lite

Sibh · 07/07/2008 23:25

Goodnight Sazzles--and good luck tomorrow with the midwife chat. DH's don't really take on board how strange you feel when events in this pregnancy bring back things that went oddly the last time to the front of your mind. I know my DH has only actively remembered DS's birth about twice since it happened, because he was frightened at the time and has totally repressed the whole thing. It's also made him jumpy about anything odd with nos 2 and 3. I think fear for them can be a factor too sometimes? Though carry on with the target practice if it was genuine thoughtlessness of course.

Annvan, I'm with the others on thinking that you need to be a little bit less kind to everyone in the situation coming up. We had the outlaws stay for three days after DS was born, fully catered for, unable to locate tea bags, dithering etc. (and those were the positive bits). I was having trouble walking and DH, in his normal style did his best to be a fab host, cooking elaborate meals and getting anxious if I didn't join in a lively way with dinner chat.

He's a total dote who is never that thoughtless in RL, but just hadn't taken on board that we needed to focus on ourselves (something he realised later and was mortified about).

You can't underestimate the hormonal upheaval as well as the practical one in your first few days at home, and the more you can do to get everyone on plan beforehand the better. In the worst-case scenario could you cook and freeze stuff for them before the event? Or better, lots of the 'well, of course when you're here this is the kind of set-up we're going to have' preparation work is invaluable too.

DH, partly to atone for what happened with DS, has a policy that we visit all our friends a few weeks after they have had babies bringing with us a lovely slap-up lunch and the offer to mind if they want to sleep or go out for a walk and it's always really appreciated. What you need is lots of support and lots of space so ask for it...

By the way, becoming a mum is, with all the highs and lows, the most amazing thing that will ever happen to you.

Sibh · 07/07/2008 23:29

Annvan, you're still up. I'm waiting for exhaustion to outweigh dodgy legs too.

AnnVan · 07/07/2008 23:46

Sibh - thanks so much. I've never been very good at standing up to my parents, they have always been very controlling and dictatorial. (one o the reasons I live far away from them) I guess I justknow that if I say anything they'll overreact, get all huffy and say they're not coming to visit new grandchild then. THe joys of family. I just hope that I'm different to the lo than what my mum was when I was growing up, and still is to an extent. I don't really see much hope of ever changing their attitudes.

Sibh · 08/07/2008 00:16

Sorry to hear that the relationship with them is tricky Annvan. It's easier to sit here and give advice than to act in the RL situation, I know. It might be good to go over options with DH though so that he is making the situation as positive as possible while they are around. Sleep well when the sleep comes ...

AnnVan · 08/07/2008 00:20

Thanks - good night, sorry if I've been a bit of a mona lisa tonight

TwilightSurfer · 08/07/2008 02:42

Evening All.

Comments PLEASE....
DH and I have spent a few moments of our anniversary evening baby namestorming. What do you think about: {{{drum role}}}}
Eleanor Reese OURLASTNAME
a.k.a. Reese
??????

We mutually agree on Reese so that's what we'd like to call the baby but the second name (which I would prefer be the middle name) is our brick wall. Eleanor is DH's mother's name (and grandmother). He thinks it sounds better in the first name slot...and I guess he's right. I'm just not totally sure.

It's not Maggie but he really doesn't like Maggie.

What do you think? Be brutally honest. My feelings will not be hurt.

OP posts:
AnnVan · 08/07/2008 02:51

Twilight - Eleanor is one of my girl's names. IF it's a girl I'd like Eleanor Rose for first and middle names. SO needless to say, I like it

Expectant · 08/07/2008 03:26

TS - Eleanor is top of our list for girls as well. So agree with AnnVan. We might end up with 3 in August

We have Peggy as the middle name after DH's Grandma.

ChaCha · 08/07/2008 05:02

Happy Belated Anniversary TS - and name sounds lovely.

Sazzles - Hope you're feeling alright and have had a good night's sleep. [hug]

Expectant - Also name of my DH's grandma!

Can't complain have had at least 3 hours sleep Ailment of the night has been wriggly baby that just won't settle and is intent on damaging my ribs as well as sneezing constantly and it really hurts. Feel better to see some daylight really, have sent DH in with the boys who thought it was party time on his 3am return. DH obviously overjoyed that mum is here.

Mum had been keeping me informed of which celebrities are having/had babies recently as I don't read much celeb news or watch TV so when i was reading online news last night i see that Nicole Kidman has had a 'Sunday Rose' is that right? I shout to mum 'oh look mum, she's had a Sunday Rose then' and mum replies 'A Sunday Roast? Whatever for?' I love the Rose but Sunday???
