They need my insurance Cover note to get Tax on new car. I think I am going to just let DH handle it, it's his area of expertise anyway! Just getting so frustrated with the whole situation coz was supposed to have car 2moro and it has all been delayed as they haven't got delivery of the car yet, they had to source it elsewhere. Swapping my lovely Corsa for a Vauxhall Meriva, all because I couldn't get pushchair in boot of Corsa! Well that and the fact it was a 3 door and would have beena real nightmare! I have no idea why my current insurer wont cover me on Meriva, thay are saying it isn't safe for someone my age!!! Im 25, have a full CLEAN licence and 4 years no claims! I would understand maybe if it was a Porsche or something....but come on....this is the 'clever family car'!!!!!!!! Just dont want to have to wait another 2 weeks til I can get car!

Morning, I am sitting here in dressing gown trying to get up some motivation to ring plumbers about bathroom but no spark yet.

Thank you for all your reassurances re:back to back labour and waterbirths. The hands and knees position seems to work with this LO and then 1 hour later it's back to back-to-back so can only hope in actual labour it turns to OFP.

EEC - I am getting horrible backache as well, I find sitting on a birthing ball and doing little hip circles helps. I think DH giving a lower back massage would help as well.....

TJuice - sweet photos and I'm glad the b/f perserverance has paid off.

LL - sorry b/f is being so difficult, however I do feel as long as he is getting breastmilk that is the good thing even if it's not thru the nipples!

Twinkle - glad you are home and ok, sure it won't be long before the twins are back with you.

Bebejones - sorry can't help with your car, all car stuff comes strictly under the heading "DH problem"

Pigley - enjoy your lunch, I went to lunch with a pregnant friend yesterday, sat in a lovely beer garden under the sun and remarked how on any other occasion this would be us downing jugs of Pimms, oh well the diet coke was nice and cold.

beepbeep · 26/06/2008 10:27

Bebe, most dealers will get your tax disc the day you collect your car (it's just a quick trip to the post office), your insurance broker can fax them a copy of your insurance cover on thursday. I'd leave it to your DH if i were you!

CilC · 26/06/2008 10:33

Oh *TJuice) , what lovely pics. She looks adorable!

Libralady I got so much conflicting advice about how often to express...One MW told me off for doing it too soon, another said more often (blahh blahh)it drove me nuts. I did it every 2 -3 hours during the day for the first few days I was home and that really helped my milk flow. I recall on an earlier thread mentioning how we all need some back up milk, because I was in your situation. Remember the aim is to keep LO fed...you will sort out the other bits. I then cut back expressing as DD and I were able to bf on our own. Sometimes I regret this, DD never ever took a bottle again.... I was held boob ransom for the next 14 months!!!! Hang in there! But if it does all get too much, please do not beat yourself up.

JacobsPrincess · 26/06/2008 10:37

Bebe, sounds like the car dealer is trying to up his sales figures for June! Let him fester into July...

bebejones · 26/06/2008 10:45

Think I will let DH just get on with it. So sorry to go way way off topic. Just finding it V stressful. DH didn't want the new car, as he thinks my mum makes him feel guilty over stuff like this esp since she has given us so much lately. (she doesn't he is just over sensitive!) But he doesn't drive, and it would not be him lugging LO's car seat in and out of a 3 door Corsa! So subsequently he is dragging his heels a bit about sorting it out. And I do actually want the car ASAP so I can at least get some use out of it/get used to driving it, before LO arrives!!!!! Just really gets annoying when I can't do stuff and have to rely on him all the time! Makes me feel very much like 'the little woman' sometimes!

Anyway enough of the ranting, and thank you all for advice. Just me being impatient and wanting my car NOW!!

TJuice lovely pictures, can't wait for more babies, I have 5 weeks left today...very exciting!!! DH keeps reminding me that it is potentially 7 weeks...but I am ignoring him!!!

Heffagooday · 26/06/2008 10:54

Beautiful pics Tjuice

I'm getting really bad backache as well. I find sitting on my ball helps. One of my books suggests using the TENS machine for backache, but not sure if this is a good idea or not.

AggiePanther · 26/06/2008 10:55

Morning all.
bebe - you can download a refund form here

Well the deed is done - I've ordered my P&T ...just hope DD will sit in it when it arrives!

Sympathy to all those having rough nights. DD2 got up and got in with us last night and I was too knackered to put her back in her bed but then had an even more uncomfy night than usual

JODIEhavingababy · 26/06/2008 10:58

I agree, we do need more new babies? So who's next? (disney??)

Regarding back ache I went to the pharmacy and bought some of those heat pads, they are brill.. Don't wear them everyday tho, just when back pain gets abit much. And I find a bath helps.. Also a Yoga pose - Cat - get down on all fours and keep your back straight, breathe in and arch your back and put your head down, breathe out and pull your head up and invert your back. Gives it a nice stretch.... (Do it slowly...) Will google it and try and find a link.....BRB

JODIEhavingababy · 26/06/2008 11:01

here there are three pages, one for each pose

EEC · 26/06/2008 11:04

Just used code for sleep bra at figleaves. Will now go and do yoga poses.... MN is suh a help! It got me hooked onto jubblies and magnums too...

Aggie brilliant thank you!!

Heffagooday · 26/06/2008 11:06

Oh, really stupid question that I wanted to ask - what are baby's movements like during labour?

I was chatting to DH and said something about LO sleeping through it, and then realised that of course they wouldn't sleep through it. But then I was wondering whether they're active throughout, or whether movements do change/stop. I'm talking about the first stage really I guess.

EEC · 26/06/2008 11:11

sorry !

AggiePanther · 26/06/2008 11:18

Heffa - I've heard they can still be kicking you when they're half way out!

Can't remember what the DDs did [preghead emoticon]

bebejones · 26/06/2008 11:18

EEC, what is a jubblie?

Heffagooday · 26/06/2008 11:26

Aggie - I'd read that too! I wouldn't put it past this one

I was just musing whether their movements could predict labour in any way - if they were suddenly very active for a long time then this could mean that something was happening? Or do they just carry on as normal? I know it's a really daft question! Mine's still behaving as normal at the moment (well, I think she might still be engaging judging by the pressure) so I'm not asking because I think something might be happening.

Gosh, I'm sounding really dopey today!

JODIEhavingababy · 26/06/2008 11:26

I was wondering about babies movements during labour too... I can't remember... Logic says that they don't move much as he/she doesn't actually need to do much during the contractions, as it's the uterus that tightens, therefore not giving the baby much room.. I remember my MW saying last time it's like a tube of toothpaste, squeezing from the top by your boobs, down towards the pelvis.... Anther thing to Google!

JODIEhavingababy · 26/06/2008 11:31

Just had a look, and no specific page I could find.. Just alot that say that movements do tend to slow down, but not really stop. No kicking, just maybe a wriggle now and then.. my LO is going crackers today!

JODIEhavingababy · 26/06/2008 11:32

Oh and DS helpfully kicked my pelvis on the way out!

Heffagooday · 26/06/2008 11:41

Thanks Jodie, that would make sense! My brother-in-law (GP) told me once that the greatest rush of adrenalin anyone ever experiences in their life is being born.

Libra1975 · 26/06/2008 11:41

JUBBLY's are icy goodness, currently have 3 boxes in my freezer and of course as they are not ice-cream they don't have any calories.

I have just discovered DH jersey boxer shorts are REALLY comfortable.

bebejones · 26/06/2008 11:47

Wow, where can I find these wonderful icy treats? Have not seen/heard of these before!!
