Hi all

yesterday was a bad day, my worse yet, I spent all day in bed i had no energy to get in the shower just about managed to brush my teeth & pop in and out of here to see you guys. I had to miss uni too.

My head was beating like a raw egg and the nausea was the worse. From the moment my eyes opened to the moment they closed i was ill.

Anyway have a great weekend
Happy I call my bean KID

And i think ill put off buying, and start after my hols in august.

MrsMagpie · 14/06/2008 09:57

I'm so happy to hear someone else is going through junk food mania. All I seem to really want at the moment is chip shop chips (with mountains of salt and vinegar) or sponge cake/muffins/chocolate. I don't normally have such a sweet tooth. Also gone off most veggies except carrots and i have a firm dislike of tomatos.

Also really struggling with fatigue. I can't seem to wake up properly and i'm ready for a nap at three. Forcing myself to do something in the evening otherwise i'm in bed by nine at the latest (after a doze in the chair of course).

happyathome · 14/06/2008 10:37

morning all,
sorry it was such a rough day for you yesterday primrose.Hope you and KID are ok today.(cute too!).
LOL at all the junk food...what would those parenting book gurus say to that.
Thanks LG&T...forgot about cashews...love those.
Not doing much today as have to play at a classical concert tonight at 7pm...conserving my energy...don't know why i took it on,scared i will botch up with tiredness and ruin my reputation.Doing it to boost church funds though and my mum and dad coming to watch.
better go and play with DD...feel awful as it feels more like a chore lately.
will check in tommorow
happy and Snugs x

tinkisrevitalised · 14/06/2008 11:13

hope you feel better today prim
i feel exhausted and eating rubbish too!!

Upwind · 14/06/2008 11:36

I've been guiltily eating junk too...

LittleSquirt · 14/06/2008 11:51

Yay, thanks girls, feeling much better knowing this new junk food craving is a "normal" pregnancy thing!

MrsMagpie my best friend suddenly developped a sweet tooth with her last pregnancy, her MW was convinced she was expecting a girl, and she was!

Hi to everyone else too, Prim - I hope you are feeling better today.

MrsMagpie · 14/06/2008 12:59

I had to send my DP out this morning on a doughnut hunt! He came back half an hour later with gorgeous freshly made perfectly jammy ones. Apparently he'd had to plead with the bakery counter (which had run out) to make him a fresh batch. Only when he explained that he had a crazed pregnant woman at home did they give in!

My friend who is also pregnant and expecting a little girl also has a sweet tooth. Maybe little girls are made of sugar and spice! I'm determined that we are going to keep it a surprise although i have started calling my Bean 'she'!

mel2005 · 14/06/2008 13:13

i take it you didnt watch the programme on the other night about big babies. they had some that were born at 17lbs!!!!! .
i didnt watch it all but it had quite a few larger women on there eating alot of junk food. some ladies had a c-section and some ripped really badly (ouch!!!)
also some of the babies were addicted to mcdonnalds. it has certainly put me off mcdonnalds and chips.

MsSparkle · 14/06/2008 13:44

Afternoon all,

Lol at some of the stories about what foods people are loving and hating! Glad it's not just me!

I have been feeling better the last couple of days. Tink and Littlesquirt can you believe the scan is only on Monday! I am abit nervous because i haven't heard a heartbeat or nothing yet so this will be my first time seeing/hearing anything! I keep thinking, what if they say there is nothing there?

MrsMagpie · 14/06/2008 14:14

MsSparkle IKWYM I have to wait until the 2nd July for mine and I'm convinced that they are going to tell me nothing is there.

I saw the thing about big babies too and i think it's only fair to point out that the Mums were around 24 stone and have abused junk food all their lives. Like all things you have to find a balance.

Now, where did i put that doughnut.......

tinkisrevitalised · 14/06/2008 14:25

i know what you mean sparkle i feel the same.
with dd1 only had scan @ 20 weeks
roll on mon aft as my scan is @ 10:45am then i have to have horrid blood tests
i saw big baby programme 2 ouch!!
i am eating my way through a bag of fizzy cola bottles.
i am sure that i am having a girl due to timing of sex. made love 3 days before ovulation, for a boy meant to be day before ovu or on the day of ovulation

MissHairspray · 14/06/2008 16:53

I am craving huge footlong Subway Italian BMT sandwiches - had one the other week not paying much attention to what is actually in it and then realised that I had just eaten a load of salami which is a no no. Since then I am desperate to have more but haven't given in - Dh says if I do the scan will show baby wrapped up in a load of cured meat. Am also craving mcdonalds quarter pounders with cheese which although not good at least aren't on the banned list.

Good luck for all the scans, I know it is nervewracking but chances are you will see a lovely healthy little bean. xx

Periwink · 14/06/2008 18:17

Mrs Magpie - I am craving Crispy creme donuts - just the plain ones with icing - luckily the nearest branch is 30 minutes away. I have gone off meat, carrots and vegetables in general. Loving bread, fruit in particular granny smith apples and am going through a whole watermelon a week!!!!

elkiedee · 14/06/2008 18:35

Nothing about not eating salami on the government website - I'm still eating bread and salami at home.

Periwink, you reminded me, we must get some more watermelon, I've been having a fruit salad which includes it at work every morning. In my last pregnancy there was a point when I couldn't face breakfast at home and would end up having my yogurt and ginger biscuits that I took in late morning, and the fruit salad and Twix later on. It's making me think, I started craving Twixes again before I knew I was pregnant, was it some kind of clue?

I've stopped drinking coffee and tea again though I've no intention of giving up chocolate in general.

MrsMagpie · 14/06/2008 18:46

I can't drink coffee at all but i'm still fine with tea but trying to keep no of cups down.

periwinkle I'm with you on the granny smiths and now I fancy watermelon. I have to send DP out again

Much to my shame I'm finding that when I can't face anything else a pack of Chicken super noodles does the trick.

Spink · 14/06/2008 19:11

evening hope you're all enjoying a balmy, relaxing saturday and have your feet up..

Looking at a computer has been bad bad bad for the queasiness so this is only the 2nd time I've managed to post here.. but finally added myself to the list with the other 10th jan girls - hello!! hopefully I'll be around a little more now, the nausea seems to be easing up a bit. eek. hope writing that doesn't jinx it

and I wanted to say good luck for tomorrow for Tink, Littlesquirt & MsSparkle - I've got my scan too, will be thinking of you three and hoping we all come out beaming. What time are your scans? Mine's at 4pm - I'll be particularly focused at work beforehand

xx

MrsMagpie ... your DP is a gem, I will be super impressed if he goes out at gets the watermelon for you! Read earlier today that eating apples during pregnancy will prevent your child from developing asthma - who knows!

Spink - relaxing night in for me watching rubbish TV. Did you mean good luck to the others for Monday and not tomorrow - pregnancy brain kicking in????

tinkisrevitalised · 14/06/2008 20:19

there are lots of us having scans on mon

Spink · 14/06/2008 20:26

err. yes I mean Monday!... I've had this pregnancy brain since being pg with ds though, bit worrying as he's 16 months now. will things ever go back to 'normal'??

Spink · 14/06/2008 20:27

..good to know I don't have to go to work tomorrow though - there is always an up side

ColumbosWife · 14/06/2008 21:34

This is a bit late but, Trying not to Obsess, I am so so sorry about your news. . I think we had the same due date so was trying to follow how you were getting on. I had a D & C last November and know how hard it is. Give yourself lots of treats and rest. Very impressed you have managed to stay so positive. xxx

I haven't been on here for AGES mainly because, like lots of the rest of you by the sound of it, I have been feeling so bleuuuurgh. Nausea non stop all day. DS is getting very puzzled about why I keep lying down. But really don't want to tell the dcs yet because of 2 recent mcs. I had an early reassurance scan this week which was great - the tiny heartbeat made it all seem real.
Mrs Magpie - agree with you about the junk food cravings. Usually am a pretty healthy eater but now all I really feel like is oven chips, toast and marmite and chocolate. Oh, and spicy tomato juice. And now I'm wanting some cashews after reading largeginandtonic. But I'm trying to stuff some fruit and veg down too when I can.
Good luck for all the MOnday scans, Spink, Tink, Littlesquirt and Miss Sparkles.

I might be wrong, but as salami, pepperoni etc is cured and not cooked it comes under the 'avoid raw or undercooked meat' rule. It does seem to depend on which advice you take though.

Off to try and buy some new clothes - too early for maternity but none of my trousers fit which is a bit depressing. Only 10 weeks with first dc so didn't think I would be too big for my usual clothes for another few weeks.

Have a lovely day all of you
