I take the Floradix a half measure before my breakfast and another half measure before my dinner. Usually take my pg vitamins after my breakfast.

mel2005 · 16/07/2008 13:34

ok i have just called them the number for mountain buggy uk is: 01404 815555. its a lovely lady who is very helpful.
the doubles are £62.50 for a seat and £31.50 for the hood and £3+vat delivery. so you are talking about £160 for two seats and the hood inc delivery. they have red, moss and black in but you can order other colours. i have decided that i will order a new set next week when i can check i dont need anything else and decide on a colour. i am going to order the new raincovers as well as the zip up ones are great, the zip up sunshades are fantastic as well. you can have the front up but still have the baby protected at the top and sides.

Congrats eachpeach!!!!! You have been quiet!

How are you feeling?

Mel the covers are pricey! I suppose if you get a new one it's about £600 for a double though?

missjackson · 16/07/2008 14:46

Hello ladies.

All the marmite comments made me laugh -- guess it really is one of those love it/ hate it things!

I had my first midwife appt yesterday -- took an hour while I answered 300 questions. Embarrasingly didn't know my dp's birthday or any of his family genetic history! She was a bit scary, to be honest.

Came away with a massive plastic bag full of paper and cardboard housing the occasional washing tablet or ovaltine sample.

My IO tops came today too I ordered size 3 as I am usually a 12, but they are really big I think they'll be fine when I'm about 6 months so I'll hang onto them. Also have an IO dress arriving via ebay soon for a Sept wedding so hope that fits okay...

LittleSquirt · 16/07/2008 15:10

Spink - I ordered to IO jeans and loved them so much that I have now ordered a second pair so yes, I would definitely recommend them!
I am wearing them for the first time at work today and I feel very trendy indeed!

mel2005 · 16/07/2008 15:57

lg&t that would mean that it will only be £250 for the buggy with new covers, raincover and suncover and a set of older spare covers. and £310 inc twin carrycot.which would cost£800+ new. i will get that much and possibly a bit more for the mountain buggy single i have with the accessories. the older covers might be alright though so i would have got it all for £150. i do like to have a spare set of covers so i can wash them but still use the buggy.

i just had a look at the IO jeans £99!!!!!! in the sale!!!
GOSH!!! my OH would faint if i bought a pair, and he would certainly cut off the broadband connection.
i think i will stay with my next maternity jeans.

blot4 · 16/07/2008 15:58

Thank you LenniEd

Hi everyone - I'm due on 3 Jan with DC2. DS is 1 this week.

Excited to be a mum again, but had forgotten how much hard work pregnancy is - I'm knackered (not helped by DS).

Congrats to the rest of you due in Jan.

Welcome blot4 glad you found us. I'm expecting DC2 as well - know exactly what you mean about wondering if you'll cope. I am not planning on doing much cleaning or gardening in the first half of next year!

tinkhasagorgeousbean · 16/07/2008 17:27

hi blot4 congrats

moosemama · 16/07/2008 18:11

Hi just a quick one, as have only skip read the thread since last time.

  1. Welcome and congratulations blot4
  1. Tip for those who can't get sleepy baby to move for a scan, eat or drink something as cold as you can lay your hands on. Eating a few ice cubes, or drinking some iced water really gets 'em dancing. Its a useful trick if you are worried about not feeling movement later on as well, although be prepared for a bit of a kicking as your baby gets a rude awakening! (Personally I found a good sized bowl of Haagen Daaz (spelling) or Ben and Jerrys did the trick as well! )
  1. I think I read somewhere that its ok to take Floradix with supplements as all the vits in it are from a natural source rather than being synthesized. But don't quote me on it. Have googled and can't find any contraindications, but have found plenty of anectdotal evidence of lots of mums to be using both.

Hope everyone is well and starting to 'bloom'. xx

moosemama · 16/07/2008 19:39

Oops! Don't know what happened to my numbering there.

whatironing · 16/07/2008 19:49

Hello everyone

I'm due 8th Jan, had the scan a couple of weeks ago .. all ok.

Does anyone else think that its odd that I've had a scan but I haven't seen a midwife yet and wont see one until week 20? It is my second pregnany - but then I have now got two new chronic medical problems that I didn't have last time...

Have you all stopped feeling sick yet?

EachPeachPearMum · 16/07/2008 20:08

Well- last time I had no sickness whatsoever, but this time, I have been plenty nauseous, only a couple of vomming incidents thank goodness. It is starting to ease now, though tends to kick in around 8.30 pm when I get tired- am having very early nights (for me!) atm.

Bump is huge this time round early too- am in maternity clothes already, though in fairness, I was larger than before my first before I conceived. Will def need some new mat clothes - the trousers I'm in today lasted until 7 mo last time, but I think they'll be outgrown by 5mo at this rate. I only seem to have 3 mat tops too- dunno what I did last time?

EachPeachPearMum · 16/07/2008 20:13

Midwife said I am being consultant-led due to a (v. v. v.) minor heart condition, and an emcs but after speaking to the consultant this morning, she was happy to hand me back to the midwives!

Midwife clinic was so full though, they are completely overstretched- even seeing the consultant, we were at the hosp for 3 hours- just for a scan, and a quick chat - I had forgotten how crap they are!

MsSparkle · 16/07/2008 21:08

Evening all,

I feel fed up today. People don't seem as interested 2nd time around, this makes me because i was always '2nd' when it came to me and my sister. Her being older, everything was new and exciting, then when it came to me the novalty had wron off I have said i will make a concious effort to make sure this little one doesn't get to feel the way i used to!

My bump has popped out and i now look pregnant! People have commented on it in the last couple of days. It's nice to actually look pregnant

Will catch up on the thread now...

LenniEd · 16/07/2008 21:37

whatironing - definately think you should chase that up with your GP. I think they are meant to automatically refer with most chronic conditions so you should get an appointment with a consultant at your hospital - I would have thought that should have been well before 20 weeks. HTH.

elkiedee · 16/07/2008 22:19

Welcome eachpeach, blot4 and whatironing.

Whatironing, if you have medical problems that are new since last time it seems wrong that you haven't seen a midwife. You're not the only one on the thread, but good practice is that you're meant to see a midwife by 12 weeks.

chefswife · 17/07/2008 06:42

welcome eachpeach hope you are well.

we haven't bought a single baby thing and i'm not really thinking about actually. DH and i are staying at my uncle's house (he's only a few years older) and we will be here till Nov.1st. there is nowhere to put anything because he is very disorganized. he has a 2 door garage with about 1 garage load of stuff strewn everywhere. i dusted and vacuumed after being here for a week (he hadn't done it in nearly 2 years) because i was so stuffed up. so was he but was completely ignorant of the fact what was causing it. well, i could go on forever... he was gracious to let us stay with him, even though we pay rent. i am dreading having to buy all the baby needs because at the same time we will need everything that one needs when they move into a new home. i'm feeling a little overwhelmed. well, that's obvious. it'll pass i'm sure.

had my first cry at a tv program the other day... Ophra did it!

NO MARMITE!!!!

anchovies on toast though.... mmmmmmmm
have a great day

tinkhasagorgeousbean · 17/07/2008 08:36

hi mm

hi wir and eachp* wi would definetly ring to see if you can see a midwife before 20wks sounds very late.
ep i was in maternity clothes this time around from 7 wks and i am alot bigger this time around too. i felt abit nauseous 7wks-10wks.
i am 14 wks today

ms s you make sure that it is still special
i look massive
chsw that sounds stressful

MissHairspray · 17/07/2008 10:01

Hi, been away a couple of days with work so just catching up. Belated thanks lennied and tink for the pushchair advice.

15 weeks yesterday and def got a tum, particularly in the evening. Combined results came through while I was away (2.5 weeks after test) - 1 in 26,0000 risk so that is one less thing to worry about! I've booked NCT classes too although we are having to go for a full weekend in November as dh will be working away during the week so couldn't commit to the usual 6 evenings.

PS - if anyone wants to buy any dorothy perkins mat clothes you can use this code online DPNEWS until the 20th July which will get you 20% off. Got some great jeans and vests. xxx

fourlittlefeet · 17/07/2008 10:28

Morning

Has anyone actually been put back for their dates by the scan? I think its really odd that we've all been put forward a few days as it means we are more likely to go overdue. In France the due date is 42 weeks and virtually no-one is overdue. Makes me as we are more likely to have inductions.

Sorry, rant over.

Still feeling sick, another cold from DD, not able to eat much and spotty. No blooming here then, and 14 wks tomorrow.

Looks like the grumps are returning
