Hi

Couldn't see a Feb thread so thought I would start one as am so excited to get a faint but definately positive HPT.

Fertility friend estimates a due date of 4th Feb.

Unfortunately (or fortunately)am off this afternoon for a hen weekend in Barcelona the first holiday in at least a year and a half and can't drink. Ohh well will have to be the responsible adult..... Hence checking to see if up the duff before I went drowning myself in Sangria.

Hope to see some others on here when I get back!!! If anyone cares to join me?

Our two are going to have no option other than to share a room so if it is a little lad he'll have to get in touch with his feminine side from a young age!

LuLuBai · 12/06/2008 11:12

Well with a big sister it's bound to happen whatever the bedroom situation. Don't all big sisters use their little siblings for dressing up practice, hair bow tying etc.

loopylula · 12/06/2008 11:13

Sounds interesting LuLuBai, I would like to take my glass lean-too roof off my kitchen stick in some RSJ's and put another modest double room on top making ours a 3 double-bed and one small study house. That way we can stay out for years but it ain't going to be cheap and unless we win the lottery we won't be able to affrod to do it. Oh well, we'll manage, i guess its a good excuse to keep toys to minimum, etc.

loopylula · 12/06/2008 11:15

Although we didn't share a room, I seem to remember cutting my little brothers hair and colouring in highlights with my felt-tips!

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 12/06/2008 11:26

sorry girls i will have to leave as i started to bleed this morning and know it isnt going to end well. looks like a repeat of aprils perfomance good luck to everyone

LuLuBai · 12/06/2008 11:27

Oooh - bet he looked lovely! I remember a very blond boy at school having pink hair for weeks after his sister did something similar.

LuLuBai · 12/06/2008 11:28

Oh so sorry. Best of luck

x

LittleMissNorty · 12/06/2008 11:40

hope you're OK x

PinkTulips · 12/06/2008 11:55

so sorry Eis is it a heavy bleed? are you sure it's a mc? any chance it's implantation?

on the room sharing front, my 2 had tpo share in our last house and when we moved here they refused sep[erste rooms! they love being in the same room and at the minute they're both really excited about ds getting a big bed because it means they can climb in and cuddle each other

think i'd secretly like another boy as ds was so much easier and i'm a tomboy myself so find the girly stuff difficult to get into really. but i'm not pushed as long as they're healthy..... have been triple dosing on folic acid since i started ttc as we have SB in the family and ds was born with a dimple in his lower back.

whoops, just realised it's time to get dd from playschool.... no car so have to walk it, bout the only excercise i get

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 12/06/2008 12:01

its really heavy like last time along with the niggly pain it doesnt look good i will rejoin if it does turn out to be implantation but i doubt it
xx ei xx

LittleSarah · 12/06/2008 12:27

So sorry QueenyEis! I hope it's not m/c.

Pinktulips - My symptoms very different this time, much more pronounced. Feeling far more tired and far more sick. Haven't thrown up - yet! - but very nauseus. Ugh, I hate it. Also v tired.

Re the girls v boys, I think I'd prefer another girl as they seem easier. I know that's just my view but in my family there were three girls and one boy, all girls fine, boy now an obnoxious juvenile delinquint! Lol. Would be happy with a boy though, which I'm pretty sure my fiance would prefer.

Am planning on starting prenatal yoga tomorrow which I did first time round and loved. The lady said that without yoga exerience she would reccommend not starting til 12 weeks... that seemed a little over cautious to me, I mean it's just bending and stretching no? Anyway, I have done it before so not worried.

Lastly, phew, I had a great home birth (wasn't allowed candles though!) and hoping for the same again.

PinkTulips · 12/06/2008 13:29

that sucks Eis

hope you get your sticky one very soon, good luck.

littlesarah, glad to know i'm not the only one with differant symptoms this time.

lol, i left the house right after my last post and i only came in the door 5 mins ago playschool is only 1/4 mile away but i never manage to go there without stopping to chat for an hour

Best of luck Ei, sorry to hear your news. Goodluck for June xxx

I tried to book my booking in appt this afternoon thinking I could get out of having to go to the GP and listen to all the don't eat stilton, take loads of folic acid waffle but apparently not! I have to see the GP first. Seems a bit daft really having to waste GP's time seeing as I already know the routine from last year.

Anyhoo ? going to see doc on monday at 5.30.

DD has quite literally just started to crawl every where so I am getting a super workout this afternoon! Can guarantee I will be knackered by the time DH gets home from work!

Florrieandme · 12/06/2008 15:45

Hello all. Seems that wherever you are the system seems to be a bit different. I went to see my GP and she just said well done and let me book in with midwife. Midwife came to house following weekend and sent off details to book first scan. All seems much easier than some of you have it.
Also, had a bit of a scare with DD last night when she decided to tumble headfirst down the stairs! I was right next to her at the time and remember the split second when she was completely upside down! Luckily all ok and then my next worry was had the shock caused any problems to BITB (baby in the belly!)
Also, I had to tell my boss yesterday as my workload will affect lots of kids and whole assignment may have to be changed for me to go off on maternity around Christmas. He was great even though I have not long started here!

ruthmollymummy · 12/06/2008 16:13

I cant believe how much I've missed, you all do talk a lot!! Today it hit me - yucky sickness and unbelievable tiredness. Got rid of DD to a willing friend and I have slept for about 4 hours today!
DH will be home soon, how to tell him I haven't lifted a finger in our bombsite house.......

ChocolateEclair · 12/06/2008 16:40

Ei so sorry to lose you. Hope you are ok. Sending some cyber hugs your way.

Ruthmollymummy it has hit me today also. Someone at work asked me if I was ok, as she said "I looked awful" . Slept from 8.30 last night til 6.30 this morning and still absolutely shattered! Think I might have to start modifying my teaching methods to include some sitting down! Might ask the midwife about iron and stuff when she gets in touch, just in case.

Florrie - hope you dd is ok after her fall. (and you and your pip are!)

Pip is still what DP and I are calling the baby! (Apparently it is 7mm long today at 6w 4d!!!!

LittleSarah · 12/06/2008 16:59

I'm supposed to be cleaning too. Where is the motivation... argh.

I went to see GP yesterday, she said at that practice you're supposed to see the nurse who then refers you to the midwife! Even she seemed baffled by such a drawn out system! So am off to see the nurse on Wed, which means presumably I'll finally see the midwife by the week after...

loopylula · 12/06/2008 18:17

Daft ain't it?! I booked with my GP last time because I had really dire anaemia and had spent every other week in his office having bloods done and I thought it best to tell him.

Florrie ? glad to hear your DD is okay! Your heart must have skipped several beats, i'm sure.

Hi Ruthmolly ? We have been chatting all day to avoid the housework so it seems! At least that is my excuse.

francesrivis · 12/06/2008 19:43

I'd love another little girl too! Saying that though when I was pregnant with DD I wanted a boy, but the minute she was born I decided a girl was what I wanted all along.

I've been offered a permanent contract today (am currently doing maternity cover for my boss but she is not coming back) and have accepted but feel ever so guilty about it - my team keep saying how pleased they are that they will have a period of stability now (things have been quite turbulent lately) and I wish they would stop! Pleased to have the contract but dreading telling work I am pg ... Oh well, think I'll leave it for a good while!

Not feeling any sickness (I didn't get any with dd so hope I'll be as lucky this time) but very tired and have heartburn already!! Surely it's not supposed to kick in yet?

BTW Davidsmom - I think I am due 11 Feb and it will be my dc2.

fruitstick · 12/06/2008 20:29

I have just found out that I am pregnant with DC2 but my husband is away on business until next week so I can't tell anyone! . I thought I would share the news with you instead!

LittleMissNorty · 12/06/2008 20:35

congratulations Fruitstick

Have you told DH over the phone?

How old is DC1?

fruitstick · 12/06/2008 20:41

I don't really want to tell him over the phone - would rather wait until he gets back. DS1 is 2, so will be nearly 3 when the 2nd one pops up.

BTW Francesrivis, sod 'em. There will always be instability in any company and maternity leave is a fact of life these days, not something to feel guilty about. Congratulations.

louisebunny · 12/06/2008 21:04

Hello girls,

Just a quickie to say hi and that things are still ok here, fingers crossed. I think I'm sharing a sleep pattern with ChocolateEclair, I was passed out asleep by 9 last night and wide awake by 6.30 this morning, I'm just so tired!!
