So excited for you about the party Nat. Hope it all goes well. Will be thinking of you tonight.

Good for you for hanging in there to get your hair straightened too! Also very cute to get DS2's hand print on the card!

Enjoy yourself

Cosmogirl · 05/08/2008 16:10

Hi Nat Party sounds like it will be fab.

Nothing exciting for lunch I'm afraid GYo...cheese and pickle brown roll and a packet of Walkers plain baked crisps and caffeine free diet coke. Really need to start eating better for sake of bean....

lardybump · 05/08/2008 16:16

evening everyone i am an idiot. I turned the freezer off last night so have had to cook everything today and refreeze it as meals.... I am hot and smell of food!!!! yuck..... I have my nucal scan booked for next Tuesday and my blood tests. I also have midwife this thursday so starting to feel really pg now... Sickness is still going strong but have more energy today....

Hope you are all well...

GYo · 05/08/2008 16:17

ooh caffiene free DC. Good idea.

Im struggling for different drinks other than water or decaf tea.

Got really into lime cordial and soda water (I call it my G&T ) but getting very bored at work.

lardybump · 05/08/2008 16:30

I am on the fruit flavour sparkling water.. Sainsburys do lovely flavours

lemon and lime
cranberry, raspberry and apple
blueberry and blackberry
peach and elderflower

All nice and very refreshing... I go through 3 bottles a day at the moment...

lardybump · 05/08/2008 16:30

oh also drinking lots of peppermint tea as I can not stand the smell of normal tea or coffee yet...

GYo · 05/08/2008 20:33

Thanks LB - good idea, will look out for those.

Cosmogirl · 06/08/2008 08:41

Really trying to fight feeling crap - but not doing so well. Went to bed at 8.30 last night. Woke up this morning and bloodhound nose still there and feel distinctly queasy......Can't I just skip this bit and go straight to 12 weeks??

GYo · 06/08/2008 08:53

Morning- ok will arrange special pregnancy helicopter to lift you up and take you to 12 wks. Thing I will join you !

I've uploaded my scan picture now

Cosmogirl · 06/08/2008 09:23

Picture is very cool . I want one! Urghh, I can tell today is going to be a struggle...God, I am such a moaner! I do wish I had more annual leave left then I could take a couple of weeks during the 1st trimester. That might make it a bit more bearable.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 06/08/2008 09:30

Morning everyone

GYo, great scan pic for 8 weeks! Even I can work out the basic bits and I am really terrible at working out scan pics!

Cosmo, I'd love to say it gets better, but, it just doesn't, each time you think you're over one thing, another starts! There you feel much better now don't you?!

Party went really well, except the cake caught fire LOL it was absolutely hilarious, 38 'magic' candles, that re-light when they are blown out, except they kept relighting, couldn't get all 38 candles out of the cake in time, LOL

And DH's pregnant niece - OMG, she followed me round all night asking this and that about the pregnancy, how is it different to the boys, etc. I don't normally mind (as you lot well know!!), but it was DH's party, I had drinks to re-fill and food to get out at the right times etc. and felt like I spent more time answering her very personal questions in front of everyone there, than I did with DH. I could excuse her a bit if it was her first, but it's not! Anyway, t'is over now, and my neighbours know exactly how difficult it is to wee when pre-eclampsia takes hold, I bet they weren't expecting that!!

GYo · 06/08/2008 12:34

NJ- as mentioned on other thread, glad all went well last night. Didnt mean to seem nasty about laughing re the candles but it really tickled me

Funny about the DH's niece- she clearly looks up to you

Have you got much clearing up left to do?

We are really pleased with the picture, good idea Cosmo- we should put it on the fridge, though we have a house of builders at the moment, so I might wait til they've gone!

DH was astounded by the whole scan thing- even looked a bit tearful - kept going on about there being 2 heartbeats inside of me.
Think reality of it has just hit him- and me come to think of it

Cosmogirl · 06/08/2008 12:54

NJ- I do now feel miles better - thanks . Only messing, I do appreciate the honesty. The sicky feeling is pretty crap but as long as I can try and keep it from becoming throwing up, it is certainly much more doable.

Have got the sum total of 0 done at work today though - it is impossible to concentrate when you feel this pants. Such a weird sensation because although I feel ill I keep thinking about food, but when I eat something, it doesn't hit the spot or taste quite right. It is like I am hungry but don't know what to eat. I have become a complete pregnancy cliche. Will be getting DH to fetch me Ben and Jerrys at midnight before I know it!

Bless your DH GYo! Sounds very sweet. Mine is very excited too. He has just taken redundancy from work though, so can you send over lots of job-finding vibes?!

GYo · 06/08/2008 16:36

Sending lots of positive job vibes to Cosmo's DH.

I know what you mean about zero concentration, really hard at the moment. I've been feeling tired but today its hit me like a brick wall. Struggling to keep eyes open in my meetings today.

So weird about the food thing- like nothing else I've experienced before. Food really does help but swallowing it down is sometimes the hardest thing.
Did you manage lunch today?

Also looking bloated/ pregnant (choice of outfit not helping today!) so I might as well get it tattoeed on my forehead.

Playingthe9monthwait · 06/08/2008 16:56

Hi all, sorry been away for a couple of days as I have been feeling truly ill! So tired now and fed up of being sick. I know some people are having it far worse but working and throwing up + exhaustion really just don't seem to work for me!!

So, I decided to try to be proactive, I have just spoken to my boss and he's agreed to let me do a 4 day week for the rest of the month, which is reality is only taking 3 days off but the shorter weeks should help, I hope! Am really relieved, as I'm hoping a Friday off every week to sleep will help, even if its only a little! Actually he was really nice, we have gone 50/50. I will use 1 1/2 days holiday and he will give me 1 1/2 days free. Can't ask for fairer than that! He is a nice man really, which makes me feel really guilty about doing such a shit job recently.

GYo - love your pic, glad your bean is ok!

Nat - your party story really made me laugh.

Cosmo - sorry you are struggling too.

I also second bring on 12 weeks and hope to god I feel better with it!

GYo · 06/08/2008 17:09

Hi Playing

Sorry to hear you are so poorly. You boss sounds awesome though. Great compromise to do 4 day weeks. I hope it helps.

Shall we pick you up in the helicopter too?

Playingthe9monthwait · 06/08/2008 17:18

Please GYo, helicopter sounds great.

Yes I know how fab, I really wasn't expecting his kind offer. Its funny when you analyse how few days you actually need to take off to have 4 day weeks for a month! Helps that we have a bank holiday this month of course, so for the sake of 3 days, i think thats very little for a 4 day week. Hopefully by the end of the month I will be blooming and feeling fab but I want to do anything I can now to stop feeling quite so drained!

Cosmogirl · 06/08/2008 17:43

Hi Playing, oh sorry that you are feeling crappy. This is only day two of crappy for me - hope to God it doesn't get too much worse cause this is pretty bad. Today have felt headachy, hot, nauseous all day, plus the disgusting sense of smell thing doesn't help will all of the above.

GYo - thanks for the vibes Really hope he finds something soon - he is very talented so I am sure he will, but there is always that little worry....He is working until the end of the month at least, so has a few weeks to fling lots of CVs out there.

Did manage lunch - three slice of brown toast with butter and jam. You are right, food really does help with the nausea. Seems so odd but for me it seems to quell the sickness for a bit. If I carry on eating this way though I am going to end up mahoosive!

lardybump · 06/08/2008 18:30

evening ladies. Sorry you are not feeling very well, and as for being massive you should see my tummy... I look 5 months gone!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 06/08/2008 18:58

GYo, of course you laughing at my beautiful cake, that I spent hours making ordering and putting in the cupboard, going up in flames isn't nasty It's still making me giggle! I did most of the clearing up last night, just left the hoovering for this morning, because the boys were asleep and last thing I wanted was them waking up! Awwww at your DH I think the scan deffo brings it home for them.

Cosmo, hope you don't feel any worse tommorow. Fingers crossed for perfect dream jobs falling into your DH's lap Or at least a good job he want's to do!

Hiya Playing and LB

Gonna go and catch up on the other thread...

Cosmogirl · 07/08/2008 08:16

Thanks Nat . Nausea still there this morning....What has yours been like in this preg? Have you been feeling ill or actually being sick too?

Morning everyone else - hope you have good Thursdays.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 07/08/2008 09:14

Morning

Nausea constantly till a couple of weeks ago, now only when I smell horrible (but odd) things. I was just saying to GYo on the other thread, once the sickness goes the smell thing isn't too bad, (I had the smell thing with all my pregnancies all the way through)

Not actually been sick though - thank god!

Cosmogirl · 07/08/2008 12:13

That's good that you've not vomited - that is my aim, though the constant nausea is seriously grim and I've only had it three days!

Just come home for lunch and wolfing some pasta and crisps down

GYo · 07/08/2008 14:05

We've got a first aid room upstairs in the office. Wonder if a legitimate use of it would be to have a lunchtime rest in it... ?

Would be wonderful to have 40mins sleep
