I'd better be over here soon!

OP posts:

Its difficult isn't it. I mean I suppose we really should be there any more and most posts now seem to be pg related when it it s ttc board. Yet if we leave it seems a bit like we are abandoning everyone else and I always enjoyed hearing about the pg ones when I was ttcing.

GYo · 31/07/2008 11:15

Me too. Nothing like a BFP to cheer me up, having said that both you and I got BFPs without much effort....

Cals/ Cosmo- what do you think?

Im having really pukey feeling morning. Worse I've had so far. Might be related to eating a croissant (really fancied earlier when starving! am now sipping water and breathing deeply at my desk. Might try my travel bands that are in my drawer!

Playingthe9monthwait · 31/07/2008 11:34

Yes we did and Cosmo too. Felt like it took ages cos I've been on the thread since Jan but from starting to conception took 8 days! Mind you I did decided to "go for it" just before my fertile time for a reason.

Sorry you're suffering GYo. I've had a bad week but having quite a good day today. I hate that feeling of sitting at your desk trying to take deep breaths to control the nausea. Am hoping I am not actually going to be sick today as I was twice yesterday, so maybe I'll get away with not being today

calsworld · 31/07/2008 11:55

Hi guys, I thought the same as Playing in that some of the more prolific posters on the board are pg, which might make it hard for the TTC'ers or even any newbies thinking about joining. I wouldn't have joined if it had been like that when I was looking for a thread to join in with . I like to stay in touch and provide support and friendship but don't want people to feel like their noses are being rubbed in anything....

That doesn't read very well, but don't know how to make it sound any better, sorry .

Playingthe9monthwait · 31/07/2008 12:14

I know exactly what you mean Cal. I mean the vast majority of us are pg now so most posts are pg related. Seems a bit unfair in a ttc board.

GYo · 31/07/2008 12:17

I know what you mean Cals. I will probably stay on both threads

Since posting about the nausea, I had a scone and put on my sea bands and am feeling better. No idea if its related to sea bands but who cares

Just been invited out for an Indian lunch going as its goodbye for a colleague but not sure how I will get on!

Unlike you playing, I've not been sick yet (touch wood) seem to be able to keep in undercontrol.. but perhaps Im not in bad area yet. MW said "ooh, wait til your 8wks" - so thats next week for me.

Playingthe9monthwait · 31/07/2008 12:57

Ummm, curry. Haven't had one for ages, might have to have one tonight.

I'm not being that sick. Was sick last Mon, Tue, Weds then sickness and the majority of my nausea stopped till this Monday when it started again. Although today I seem to be good again, as long as I keep eating little and often. So, I can't complain thats only about 6 days when I have actually been sick. Actually its quite a nice middle road, enough so I feel pg but not so much it takes over my entire life.

calsworld · 31/07/2008 13:56

Phew! Had to go and get my work laptop so I could pick up emails etc (DS has chicken pox and I have no alternative childcare) and thought by the time I got back I might have been banished from the boards!

Today has been more most nauseous day so far, keeps coming over in waves, i eat a bit and it goes away, its just that it comes on so suddenly which makes it hard for me to manage.

Am very tired, not as tired as I have been but even still, does that ease off soon? (Am only about 6 weeks, if that!)

Playingthe9monthwait · 31/07/2008 14:06

Hi Cal,

I am still completely knackered, hope it goes soon but have to keep telling myself that its a good sign and I would be worried if I had no symptoms.

I have also found the nausea waves come on suddenly. well some of them. I seem to have low grade nausea, thats a constant, its there most of the time, improves a bit when I eat but its still there. As hard work as this is it doesn't seem to be a threat though. I then have the nausea that is stronger and comes in waves, that is the type that I am most likely to be sick with and it makes me really ill. A sort of running to the toilet affair. Not very nice really. Still, its not been everyday, fingers crossed it won't be today.

GYo · 01/08/2008 15:02

lol- Im lurking. Wishing I was sleeping but fortunately not curled up around a bucket... yet....

calsworld · 01/08/2008 15:09

Hi GYo, am feeling decidedly un-pg today, no bloating (yay!), no nausea, no thirst, no sore boobs....

In fact, had a few niggles about whether or not I actually AM pregnant but I seem to remember feeling like this last time - its such a no-mans land between BFP and the first scan / or getting a bump isn't it.

How many weeks are you now?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/08/2008 17:57

I keep forgetting about this thread If I post on it now, it will get stuck on 'threads I'm on' and then I won't be able to forget about it!

I am 18 weeks tomorrow, still no movements but if I don't think about it, I don't worry about it

GYo · 02/08/2008 15:30

Hi NJ

Great to have us PG wagoners over here

How is non-movement status? Surely it cant be long now til the 20wk scan so you can see your LO?

Did you ever get any guidance from the useless MW?

Hi everyone else hope your enjoying your saturdays

GYo · 03/08/2008 16:38

I think I might have a slight bump. Although it could just be bloating but Im down to only two pairs of jeans I can wear.

calsworld · 03/08/2008 20:00

Hi GYo, you're a few weeks ahead of me aren't you? I think I had a v small bump at 13 weeks last time, which is quite early, so expecting this one to turn up soon.

Having said that, I think I'm carrying extra padding this time round so don't know if that will hide it longer or vice versa?!

I have one skirt and one pair of trousers I can comfortably wear to work - my sister has all my maternity clothes and don't want to ask for them too soon as it will give the game away! I can try saying they're for someone else but they'll know its me! I'd like to keep it a secret a bit longer yet .

Mind you, what DH doesn't know is that I've already told a few close friends, he'll be cross if he finds out! But its too much to keep secret when they knew I was trying, suddenly, I'm the one doing the driving and eating salads and veg and fruit

GYo · 03/08/2008 20:09

Hi Cals
How is DS this evening?

I must be imagining the bump bit - am only 8wks this week so seems a bit early. Probably just bloating/ gas which I've had plenty of! (sorry TMI)

I heard that second pregs show earlier than firsts as the muscles arent so tight so you may get a bump sooner than with DS

Im hoping when I tell sister she might be able to lend me some maternity clothes - but feels odd telling people now we've kept it "secret" for so long.

Also kind of taking it one day at a time and bit worried that other people will just thing BABY when i tell them- Not sure Im ready for that! despite it being a very very much wanted pregnancy!

ooh mammoth post- will leave you to your evening. Bye

calsworld · 03/08/2008 22:34

Hi GYo, 8 weeks isn't too early - ask NJ! I just don't think I've got one yet, just firming up the fat!

I know what you mean about thinking ahead to the baby, I'm really looking forward to the whole (post 12 weeks) experience of being pregnant and feeling and seeing it growing in side me, I loved that side of pregnancy with DS. I also obsessively read about the development each week - its just all so amazing isn't it!

DS has been better today, he had a 2 hour nap between 10.30 and 12.30, which I joined him for, then he had another snooze at about 5.30 - 6.00 but evil mum woke him up to make sure he sleeps tonight. He went down at 8 ok (eventually for his dad) but woke again at 9 (reminiscent of last night ) but I've managed to get him back without too much hassle and hope he'll now go through to morning.

His spots have started scabbing over too, so hopefully yesterday and last night really was the worst of it, poor DS. So glad its going to be over and done with though. I gave him a bath with bicarb of soda, not sure why, but everything says I should!

Anyway, off to bed for me,

(and you thought yours was a mammoth post!)

ps - thanks for support re DS, I know its nothing to do with pg or TTC, but my god its been a tough 48 hours.

Cosmogirl · 04/08/2008 08:20

Hi guys, will try and post here more too. I agree with the fact that may be a bit unfair to post lots of preg stuff on the conception board..Told parents at the weekend and they were really pleased, took it so much better than I thought. Was shattered last night so haven't had time to catch up on everyones' posts yet. Hope you are all OK and not struggling too much with tiredness/sickness etc...

GYo · 04/08/2008 08:31

Morning Cosmo

Glad your parents are pleased - despite being adults, its always nice to get the parental sign off

Wish it was still the weekend

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 04/08/2008 08:34

Good morning

GYo, yes perfectly possible to be getting that bump! And in my case(s) it didn't matter what it was that started the bump (wind/fat/bloatiness/baby) it stays till baby takes over! Having said that, I got big all of a sudden and for the last month or so haven't really grown at all, or certainly not much!

On the movements front, still absolutely nothing, can't say I'm not worried about it, and I am trying my best to tell myself all the shit the MW said (every pregnancy different, baby may be lying the wrong way etc.) but it isn't very comforting TBH! It's only 16 days till the scan (not that I'm counting or anything ) Don't know if I am looking forward to it, or dreading it but at least we'll find out one way or the other. It has deffo been putting a downer on the pregnancy because by this point with the boys I'd bought everything I could by now, and I haven't done this time.... On the upside, I've not been feeling quite as breathless, I can actually carry DS2 up the stairs now without having to stop for a break!

Cal, poor poor DS, and poor poor you Was he better last night? Bless his little heart, he must have been feeling so poorly. Fingers crossed he is on the other side of it now.

GYo · 04/08/2008 08:35

Re the bump thing. Im definately expanding anyway. The trousers that I usually my safe bet for "fat days" are considerably snugger than usual around the waist today .

If I wear tight things I think it makes it obvious, but wearning anything loose and flowing shouts out I AM PREGNANT IMO!

Think I'm also gaining weight.. I guessing that since I was slim to start with I will gain weight early on but am a bit worried about ending up huge by the end of it.

Also are slim/tall people less or morelikely to show early?

Sorry having self absorbed moment re shape
sorry

GYo · 04/08/2008 08:37

Nat- have you got doppler to listen for the heartbeat? or is that just Tink?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 04/08/2008 08:50

Well, they say that slim/tall people will show earlier, but IME most of the tall/slim people I know didn't have much of a bump to speak of at 9 months! Having said that I am basing that on the members of DH's family that have been pregnant and there isn't an ounce of fat between the whole lot of them so they are all very naturally skinny.

I think there is a physcological thing as well, when you find out your pregnant everything seems centred around your belly, you feel every little bubble and twitch that always happened before but you weren't aware of, and I guess some of this will get all the ligaments loosening and muscles running for the hills etc. Mostly if you don't over do the eating junk thing, normally you won't have that much to lose after the baby is born.

Yes I have a doppler, whilst it is reassuring, it doesn't tell me any more than that the HB is OK. My sister has had 4 nasty MC's, 2 of which she heard the HB all the way through up to the 20 week scan.

GYo · 04/08/2008 08:56

Wow Nat, sorry to hear that it sounds awful for your sister. I'm sure your LO is enjoying having a snooze inside before coming out to two big brothers

Understand its hard not to worry though.

Have you had the party yet?

I guess the tall thing means there is more space for the baby to hide inside and spread upwards before outwards. I've got a long body so will see. You are right re eating- I need to not worry about it or I will get obsessed. Just had some milky porridge for the calcium. hopefully that will stay put.
