glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/10/2008 10:54

Scarlett Grace
Scarlett Amelia
Scarlett Josie

erm... can't think of many other names i like that sound ok with it right now....

DC's have just ripped up the local newspaper into little shreds all over the living room floor and are currently rolling around in it all!! I was on the phone to my sister and didn't realise i was watching them do it until it was too late!! Argh!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 10:55

Good going on the spending girls

When will they deliver it Kay? Am still waiting on our Bug, not heard anything about delivery yet. Or the furniture.... Think I might have a go at chasing them up after the weekend.

Tink, Scarlett Willow goes well, if you still wanted Willow?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/10/2008 10:56

ooh- Your right NJ- Scarlett Willow sounds good!!

2beautifulgalsandabean · 24/10/2008 11:14

Scarlett Willow does sound good

Morning everyone.

Everyone is spending this morning i want to join in

Just read thru and then had to go and be sick and have now forgotten what i read

I'm in the Midlands, will be going to london soon for visa interview then a couple of weeks after baby born to get passport. Rarely go up but could be arranged.

Feel like poo and was gonna try and tackle house work today feel almost breathless and light headed...

Diege · 24/10/2008 12:13

Hope you get through OK 2BGs - sick and dizzy is bad .
Loving all the combinations with Scarlett - wish we'd given it more thought with our Scarlett - chose Scarlett Hope in the end, but pretty indifferent to 'Hope'. Agree, Scarlett Willow is lovely .
Had a dodgy moment coming up the hill with dd3 just now - had let myself get hungry and really though I would faint at one point. Have just had an arrage calypso lolly and feel better. Waiting for my mash and fish fingers now .
Oh and on anti-front I am another rhesus neg wagoneer. Used to be administered after birth (dd1) then at 28, 32, after birth (dd2), now double dose at 28 weeks (saves money apparently) and then after birth. The logical thing to do would be to test babies blood after birth to see if it was needed in subsequent pregnancies, but not done apparently in our Trust . Like you Nat, I'm sure this will be my last baby, but agree not worth taking the chance..
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine, (or snow!!).
Oh and my preggie pop drops and special anti-nausea roll-on have just arrived. I am highly sceptical but will try then anyway.

Diege · 24/10/2008 12:14

Urghh roll-on thing is minging...Will give it a day then it can go in room 101 with morningwell CD

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 12:25

Oh the joys of pregnancy hey?! Sickness, dizzyness, fainting spells, tiredness, contractions, hairy bellies... or is that just me?! At least piles aren't a contender!

Hope you're both feeling a bit better now?

Have just had my first cup of coffee (pretend instant stuff) for about 3 weeks, it was gorgeous schmorgeous!!! Thing is now it's all gone, and I want another one, and I am still yet to tackle the windows down stairs.... am knackered just thinking about it

tinkisinthe3rdtrimester · 24/10/2008 12:33

willow does sound great with scarlett cheers!!
we are all dong well arent we!!
my current pregnancy ailments are tiredness and backache plus weeing often otherwise ok and feeling huge and uncomfortable.
when i play with dd she has to come up on the sofa with toys

kayzisexpecting · 24/10/2008 12:44

Hopefully on Monday Nat. Fingers crossed anyway. It says next working day which is Monday.

We spend all this time and effort getting pregnant and then once we are, we moan about all the symptoms(well I do)

Right I am now sorting out getting the internet moved over. So I may not be on very much but I promise to go to the Library and catch up with everyone.

2beautifulgalsandabean · 24/10/2008 12:53

Diege i read about that morningwell CD and was a bit is it a pile of pants then?

Hope the move goes well Kayz

Ok those that have had boys, did you get spotty and greasy skin? Can't rememeber it being like this with DD's

Diege i was going to ask how your 3rd labour was? Just my best friend is in her 3rd year of midwifery training and its called the dreaded 3rd labour where she works Says most women on 3rd labour havea hard time.

I too am A Rheus - so have the anti D. had the injestion twice when pregnant with DD1 and 2 then not after birth with DD1 as she was negative but DD2 was positive so had it after her birth.
I have had 2 previous retained placentas so am preparing myself for a 3rd, however really want to try for a physiological 3rd stage, but know Docs will not be happy.

tinkisinthe3rdtrimester · 24/10/2008 12:59

how about scarlett joy - midwife is called joy and regret not using dor dd1s middle name she is gr8

GYo · 24/10/2008 13:03

I bought the Nevasic/ morningwell cd to as back up for travel sickness during a long flight. Only used it once but hard to tell if it did anything as i was dozing in and out of sleep....

Think there has to be a certain amount of believeing in it for these things to work.

I was definately believing in anything since the thought of nausea for 8hrs was more than I could cope with- so seabands and nevasic and I was fine (usually bad traveller without drugs). Having said that I was in a layflat business class seat thathelped a lot!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 13:06

That's bloody quick Kayz! Good luck with the move, don't be a stranger!

2BG, didn't notice any skin changes with the first two, except literally within a day or two of conception my skin went completely 'movie star' lovely, with DS1 it coinsided with my 18th birthday and I actually went out clubing with nothing more than a slight bit of bronzing powder, mascara and lippy! This time, my skin has been quite nice all the way through (certainly not 'movie star' lovely, but not bad either!!) The one thing I do get is hair - everywhere! Seems to really slow down growth on my legs though.

Oh and cheers for the 'dreaded 3rd labour'!! LA LA LA LA LAAAA LA LA LA LAAAAAAA. If you don't think about it, it won't happen, see?!

Diege · 24/10/2008 13:08

Scarlett joy is lovely TINKS - was one ofg our possibles too. However, dh did plant the seed of doubt when he said it sounded a bit like a porn star's name . Hope I haven't put you off!
2BG, I think the morningwell did something as I have never been more violently sick after listening to it . Obviously triggers something somewhere, just that I am wired wrong (little bit like 1 in 100 children becoming hyperactive after medicaid that than sedated )
On 3rd labour, I can't say I noticed it was any more horrendous than the others . It was shorter, plus I had a successful epidural so probably not the best person to ask as I didn't feel much My sister is a midwife and she says same thing about 3rd labours (and pregnancies). Think she says it's more to do with the stop start nature of the labour for some people.
Going for a lie-down now. Will give stick another try..

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 13:09

Sorry x posts, Scarlett Joy sounds lovely Tink

I agree with the 'believing in it' theory, but I think a lot of things are like that, if it works for you then great, if it doesn't try something else or just get on with it, not a lot of choice when nothing works is there?

Right this will be my last post, DH is due home any minute so we can get gone to the hospital, and then we will be busy busy busy from there on in! Have a good weekend everyone xxx

tinkisinthe3rdtrimester · 24/10/2008 13:43

take care nat
didnt realise that gone with the wind is set in atlanta what are the chances!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 24/10/2008 14:09

Afternoon all,

Thanks for all the congrats.

Deige - sorry to hear you are feeling unwell but glad for you as well as it is at least a god symptom.

Kay - glad you got your pushchait at last.

Umm, know I had loads else to say, my brain honestly is totally useless.

Oh yes, I can always do a London meet of course, only about an hour away by train or of course anywhere in Hampshire/Surrey.

GruffaloSoldier · 24/10/2008 14:58

hello all

thanks for all the advice re: superstition and cot - might just get it then

Gyo - reusable demo would be great! let me know!

went into Farnham today and got some childrens books that are on 'our list' from the charity shop - result!

also bought some leather ugg type boots from next to wear in the rain with vouchers left over from my birthday

Tink - agree, Scarlett Willow is lovely.

Glask - thats cool re dates, a bit confusing for you as we all know, edds are rarely when baby comes anyway If I dont find out the sex I may go out of my mind, as I am thnking boy and just want to know!

Thats all I can remember from catching up but hope everyone is ok!

Diege - I am intrigued by your other dds names, as Scarlett Hope does sound lovely. Care to share the others?? Obviously I wont be offended if not![nosy]

My names are Zachary John Ethan or Michael Lily Ava Sophie or Lily Jessica Sophie. John is my Dad and Michael is DH's grandad. Lily was my Grans name who died when I was 8 yrs old.

Cor sorry that was a bit llong winded!

Playingthe9monthwait · 24/10/2008 15:16

Hi Gruf - you have books on your list . I haven't even written a list yet .

For what its worth I wouldn't worry about superstition either, if things are going to go wrong they will do so with or without a house full of baby things. I seem to have been expecting everything to go wrong as this all happen so easily, but now I am starting to admit that it looks like its actually going to happen so I had better start buying things. No supersitious reason, just thought there was no point buying stuff until we were fairly certain fraggle was healthy and doing well.

GYo · 24/10/2008 15:25

Hi Playing, I've been feeling the same, felt it was too early really but not really superstitious. But I have got a semi list going but Im not compelled to buy anything yet (could be slight fear too!) Not to say Im not excited but just seems a long way off yet. Though I regularly fondly baby clothes in M&S

Think after 20wks scan I might get stuff but DH is tied up with studies and work til xmas so we are waiting to do the majority of stuff then when he is free to join in without other things to think about.

Fraggle - fab name for bean.

GruffaloSoldier · 24/10/2008 16:07

I have a list sure but havent got stuff off that yet - wont be getting most for ages but have seen a cot we might be getting just because its on offer and got a voucher too.

The list I was actually referring to was a list we hae had since we were quite young of our favourite books that we would want our kids to read. I was in oxfam book shop and saw a couple for really cheap so got them

Cosmogirl · 24/10/2008 16:23

Hi Ladies,

Yey Halloween faces . Hope everyone is doing ok. I haven't been around in a while - must get back into the MNing lark!

Some good news in that it seems the sickness is waning. Only been sick 3 times this week (am 17 weeks now) and have managed a full week in the office (was working from home before). Feeling much more like myself, which is great. The sickness was so horrible and I felt like a different person.

Haven't had chance to properly catch up, but will try to do so after this post. Noticed Playing has found out the sex - congrats on a boy!! Great news. Have to admit, I can't wait to find out and don't really have an inkling either way which I am a bit miffed about. Thought I would be all 'it is definitely a boy or girl' about it! x

Diege · 24/10/2008 16:43

Afternoon! Great news on sockness ebbing COSMO - you must feel like a new woman .
PLAYING - love fraggle . Dd1 was 'splinter'.
GRUFF, really love Lily and Ava, such pretty names. Re: my names, dd1 is Jasmine May, dd2 Scarlett Hope, and dd3 Liberty Thea (both the 'Hope' and 'Thea' were last minute on-the-way-to-the registry-office choices as we wanted one syllable as lacked inspiration at the time! This time (I'm 99.999% sure it will be a girl) it will be Mathilda Rose, or Saffron Rose, or Mathilda Saffron...you get the idea . Oh and get that cot, you only regret it!
Dh back late tonight so am on a mission to get dds to bed early.
On other horrible symtom I have that I also had with dds - excessive salivation. To the extent that I have to spit it out constantly. It does have a special name, but I've never met anyone else who suffered from it!
