Morning

Kay, great news about the money, and the move, and the MIL, not so great about lack of sleep, if it helps, I'd have been able to keep you company every bloody night this week!

Gruff, I am the same as Wilson, am not superstitious at all, I refuse to believe that having anything babyfied in your house before the baby is born is going to cause carnage, infact, considering for both of the boys we had everything here set up before they were born and they are fine proves it IMO!

I've bruised my belly I walked into a toy of DS2's that I was lifting up (god this is hard to describe!) baby is fine and moving and everything, just hurt me, and started the contractions with a bloody vengence.

I have my appointment for the Anti-D this afternoon, with everything that has gone on the last couple of weeks I forgot to ask the MW about it all (anyone remember my ramblings of having it 3 times with DS1, none at all with DS2, and none earlier this pregnancy?!) I understand it would be for any furture babies, and since we're not planning anymore it almost seems a waste of time, but I couldn't live with the guilt if something happened and I ended up pregnant again, MC'ed and hadn't had the Anti-D this time.

This will probably be my last post till after the weekend, we have family coming tomorrow (we think, it might be Sunday, but looking likely for tomorrow) so I have some tidying up to do, then obviously will be out this afternoon, and busy over the weekend, so just in case, hope everyone has a lovely weekend, hope the move goes well Kay, and hope the NCT sale is as good as you hope Tink xxx

kayzisexpecting · 24/10/2008 07:57

Hi Nat.

It is good about MIL except she doesn't want me to go with them to pick it.

Hope your appointment goes well, and so does the family visit.

I'm half asleep on the laptop. I think I might nap on the sofa.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 08:10

Am back already! Have five minutes before I have to sort his lunch out!

Kay, she doesn't want you to go with them to pick it???? I'd tell her to stuff it TBH! What does your DH say? Surely you can't let her do that?

kayzisexpecting · 24/10/2008 08:18

He has told her we will all be going. She just wants to take DH and DS on Sunday when I am at work. I don't trust him to put his foot down when she tries to suggest horrible coloured carpets.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 08:23

Sorry but she is a bit of a fruit loop no? Why offer to pay for something horrible just to get at you? Surely her concern should be for her son and grandson? Not that a horrible carpet would hurt them as such, but if she did buy a horrible one, it would just show that she is more intent in pissing you off than doing her son a favour! Hope you get it sorted out with out ripping her head off!

I really am going to have to go, am now 5 mins late doing his lunch!!

Have a good weekend everyone xxx

Diege · 24/10/2008 08:29

Morning! Sickness a little worse again this morning - am trying desperately not to feel sorry for myself as (for me) I do know that, going on past experience, sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy (touch wood)!
Feel better after some ginger and lemon tea , ginger biscuits don't seem to work today.
KAY, agree with NAT I'd tell MIL to stuff it - I mean what kind of message it that giving to you??? I'd definitiely say stuff it - she's then be left looking really petty if she withdrew her offer...Hope you can getb some rest today. On a separate note I am looking forward to your due date not just for obvious reasons but I will be 12 weeks by then (hopefully) and my sickness should be gone
Hope you have a good week-end NAT - sounds busy, but fun . Bruise sounds painful
Hi WILON! Wow that's early for sickness - poor you. How many weeks are you now?
Oh and while I remember TINKS my dd2 is 'Scarlett' so that's obviously a vote from me. Seriously though, we get so many comments about it - people saying what a lovely name it is. Enjoy NCT! Oh and I've been wracking my brains about the namer 'Bracken'. I may be making this up, but I'm sure it's a name I came across recently in a book - was it the shopaholic series or am I just thinking about you?
Right, have dd3 off today so better get moving.

GYo · 24/10/2008 08:33

Morning all

Have a great w/e NAt, good luck with the Anti D jab.

Morning Kay- wow you were up early.

Gruff- tats a frightening stat about the local landfil [sad} - that kind of thing really bothers me... will definately push me toward the cloth nappies again.

There are local demos - found one in Farnham It was way too early to worry about it but it might be useful now. Will find it and let you know in case you are interested.

Friday joy here- expect I was due to be working at home but I left my laptop power cord in the office so was forced to come in anyway Least it's Friday.

GYo · 24/10/2008 08:43

Hi Diege - sorry to hear you are feeling pukey. But yay for the symptoms anyway!

Morning Tink- Scarlett is a great name!

SesHasapinkline · 24/10/2008 08:51

Morning!

Not posted since Wed evening and there's loads to catch up on!

Diege - So pleased you got a scan booked at what IMHO is about the right time. Sickness is miserable but all at the same time!

Kay - good luck with moving in. As for carpet, unless MIL allows you and DH to have the final decision, there's no point.

tink - From your recent list, I would also pick Scarlett. I guess the only thing is that if DD1 is called Atlanta, that does give you a bit of a Gone With the Wind theme but personally it wouldn't bother me as I love that film!

NJ - good luck with appointment today. Ouch at your bruise - hope it's not too sore. Have a good wkend.

Heebee - great news about your scan too

Wilson - welcome to the AN thread!!

Sorky and everyone else involved in the nappy discussion - I'm still undecided as to whether to go for washables or disposables. I know a friend of mine used a type of disposable that were meant to be quicker at breaking down and she'd been told that the amount of energy and water used in washables was just as much of a problem. Not really sure what to think. May have to do some further research...

Re: baby clothes. I'll probably get most of my bits and most of everything actually from Boots as - incase you hadn't gathered - that's who I work for. Will be able to get my staff discount and Ad card points Just suprised no one had mentioned them - are we just not that good out in the big wide world?? (Note Ses is completely brainwashed as has never worked for anyone else and started as a Saturday girl with Boots and continued working there through Uni !)

SesHasapinkline · 24/10/2008 08:55

That was a long post so thought I'd break it up...

I've still been feeling quite crappy the last few days. Combination of tiredness and worry I think. Only 4 days til scan...
Then this morning I had a nasty retching session whilst brushing my teeth. I just started retching and then couldn't stop! Everytime I tried to take a breath I retched and it carried on for quite a few minutes - not nice.

Right - must go off to work so will probably have loads to catch up on again this evening! Looking forward to week off though so I can get the house a bit more sorted, laze around and - of course - MN!!

kayzisexpecting · 24/10/2008 09:00

Oh Ses there is a gorgeous moses basket I want from Boots and its never ever in stock. Might have to pop to my local Boots and see if I can order it there.

SesHasapinkline · 24/10/2008 09:05

Either that or try boots.com Kay... Hope you get it! I'm finding it v difficult to keep walking past the baby depts in the stores I go in and not stop and melt! Mustn't do it though as a) would start people thinking and b) don't want to buy anything until at least Tuesday.
In fact the following week, as part of our Christmas benefits, we have 3 days where staff can buy anything and get double the usual discount!! Could be dangerous!!

kayzisexpecting · 24/10/2008 09:08

I've just checked and its in stock!!!!!!!!!! I'm now ordering it!!!

Diege · 24/10/2008 09:14

Ooh SES that offer sounds good! Strangely enough I was stopped and asked to complete a survey about the mini mode clothes in boots about a year ago. The woman was trying to see why they weren't selling (in that particular branch). My comments was lack of available sizing - nevr had what I wanted in the right size. One item I do love for babies from boots in the nightdresses with popper openings along the bottom - great for night changing!
Morning GYO!
Right, really must get dressed!

kayzisexpecting · 24/10/2008 09:19

The only thing wrong with Boots is when you shop online they don't give you your points. You have to go to a shop with a kiosk thing. My nearest is 25 miles away!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/10/2008 09:51

Morning all!! I've only been out of bed for 15mins!!

had to log onto the pc as i'm ordering tickets for the BBC Good Food Show in nov. And hoping to book the hotel we'll be staying at!! I'm getting so exited, its the first time DH and I will have been away for the night without the kids!!

We're calling it our honeymoon as we still haven't had one!! Though at least we dont have the worry of a 'honeymoon baby'!!... Actually if we'd had a honeymoon DD would have been a honeymoon baby, works out i conceived her within 4 days of our wedding!!

Wilson, the last pic of my growing bump was taken just before 11 wks!! It's not grown much since, actually looks smaller because of the weight i've lost since that pic with all the sickness!! still rounded and neat though for such a big bump so early!!

Gruff- I'm 15 wks today, but when i had my scan they only brought my date forward by 1 day... so i dont know, i was 13 weeks when i should have been 12+4 at that time... so surely my date should have come forward to the 19th/20th?? can't work it out myself.... anyway, my 20 wk scan is the 28th nov, when i should be 20 wks to the day!! 5 wks today!! i'm getting very exited!!.... Also on the baby items subject- I've not been superstitious with any of mine, this time round i got my cot the day i turned 12 wks!! I think because with DD i was already prepared as she went into Ds's cot this time i felt i'd have no time to sort out getting everything, panicked and went a bit OTT on getting 'prepared' so early.

All i need to buy now really is a bouncy chair, muslins, outfits (once i know the sex) and things like stocking up on nappies and wipes...

Right i'm off to go spend some money on tickets and a hotel room!!

Heebeejeebee · 24/10/2008 09:53

Morning all!

Just scanned the past couple of pages so apologies if I miss anything!

Tink - I love Scarlett, in fact, my latest goddaughter (18 months) is a Scarlett.

NJ - I'm going to need an anti-d too, so if you find any more out, let me know! I asked my gp who said I would get one after the birth if the baby was the same blood type as me in case the bloods mixed, but I read about having one while you were pregnant. It was on my list of questions to ask the midwife!

Glask - I've placed my order, but mentioned your name, so I'll drop you an email and then contact them with your address!

Ses - funnily enough I went on the Boots website yesterday (looking for something else) and had forgotten they did all that stuff!

Got my 12 week scan appointment through last night- 10 December! Just need to get through the 7 week one first!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 10:03

Am having a break t'is tiring this cleaning lark! I had already cleared everything away so only having to clean windows/polish/hoover, have done upstairs except the bathroom, am about to start downstairs, but figured the fact I am actually panting thought I'd better sit and get my breath! Cleaning 6ft windows is not good with a 30 week bump!

Ses, I didn't realise it was Boots you worked for! Have never tried their clothes, would never even think about Boots as a clothes seller, though that is probably because our Boots is tiny and doesn't have clothes in it. The one in Blackburn does but I very rarely venture in there, (they have all the perfumes at the front and I can't help but buy them I am the same in Debenhams, I actually walk the long way round the shop from the outside so I don't have to walk through the perfumes/cosmetics! LOL)

I am a little of you all pledging to use reusables, I already have to do two loads of washing a day to keep up with this lot, I really don't need more adding to it, especially since the baby will already be adding to it!

OMG it is snowing AGAIN, 3 days on the trot now!

kayzisexpecting · 24/10/2008 10:08

I'm using reusables too. Its hopefully going to be much easier and it saves £600 a year.

I want snow!!! I love snow!!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 10:09

Sorry x post Heebee, great about having your 12 weeks scan date as well, gives you little stepping stones to work towards.

I think this Anti-D business must be down to the different NHS trusts as to what they offer. DS1 I had it at 14 and 28 weeks and after he was born (Northants trust) DS2 nothing was even mentioned, when I asked about it she said it wasn't recommended, then nothing mentioned again this time till the appointment came through (same trust as with DS2) I am more than a little about it, but like I said, if I did end up with a no.4 on the way and I hadn't had it, I'd be very worried.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 10:11

Not this type of snow, t'is just wet and horrible, not settling or anything. Having said that, it is better than when it does settle, we get snowed in!

tinkisinthe3rdtrimester · 24/10/2008 10:19

hi ses

our boots dont sell clothes

gone with the wind is one of my favourite films has to be one of the longest filns ever

hi glas - food show and hotel sounds good

nat - r u doing too much again
i herby give you permission to sit down and eat chocolate.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/10/2008 10:26

Tink, I have barely touched the house for the last month or so, especially upstairs, the bathroom has had little more than a wipe over in the mornings, I've not done the windows for 2 months a few weeks... you get the gist! Feels good to get it done actually, love it when you're scrubbing away and can actually see the difference!

kayzisexpecting · 24/10/2008 10:39

Woohoo!! I've ordered the Phil and Teds!!!
