I know NJ good nursery ranges for girls do seem to be a bit thin on the ground, and I just can't buy beige/white, it's not us.
Decide what's most important to you;
cost, bulkiness, drying time (esp if no tumbler in winter) and ease of use.
That should narrow down what is best suited to you.
You can then further narrow options to get the ones right for you.
I think I bought about 20 nappies; 16 swaddlebees and 4 bambineo's, but I can't remember for sure.
I worked upon the fact they need changing about every 2-3 hours during the day when newborn, sometimes that involved changing the whole nappy, but sometimes just the insert. Basically at every b'feed I'd check the nappy.
I'd wash every other day and dry pail the nappies in a peddle bin until it's full (doesn't take long) probably half the nappies will used each day.
If you opt for nappies that need wraps then you need far fewer of these as they don't get dirty or wet (usually) and can stay with baby through 3-4 nappy changes, depending on which ones you opt for.
You can buy birth-to-potty packs which have everything in. I used Bambino Mio for Dd1, but I wouldn't recommend them now. There was very few options out there 7-8 years ago and it was the best for us at the time.
It didn't last for Ds1 though.
