Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
eandz · 08/05/2008 15:18

aww

potxola · 08/05/2008 15:34

Am I the only one feeling tired all the time ? They did test on me when I was at the hospital and I am fine, just pregnant.

I swear I felt full of beans when pregnant with my son.

DebilTheScot I am not buying a new pushchair either. I have my Chicco travel system and it looks like new after I replaced 2 wheels. If I had to buy another one, I would buy the same one and they don't make it anymore. I bought it 4 years ago with the pram and car seat.

jennylindinha · 08/05/2008 15:48

I'm feeling tired today but think I've got hayfever too. Feel a bit woozy and managed to bang my arm on a wall and a wheelie bin whilst on my way to the loo just now! It's probably just the heat!

Pidge, you were brave to be cycling in the winter months at that stage, well done! It's so much easier and more pleasant in the summer. I certainly can't see myself ever getting on a bus, they drive me crazy.

Sunshinemummy · 08/05/2008 15:49

I'm tired but as I'm now in my 10th week of chest infection I'm not expecting it to be any different!

Pidge · 08/05/2008 15:53

jenny - the alternative to cycling is getting two EXTRA trains on top of my main commuter train. So I used to alternate - one day on the bike, and one day getting the extra trains. Not perfect, but there you go. And, as I said, sometimes I found the extra walking and standing around on the train platforms worse than just jumping on my bike for 40 minutes.

potxola - I'm also often tired (despite the cycling!!). Much more tired this time than I remember in my previous two pregnancies. Maybe I'm just getting old, or I've forgotten what it's like. I have to be in bed by 9pm or I'm in trouble and on a Monday and Friday I get a 'mini' lie in, whilst dp gets the kids up, and on Saturdays and Sundays I'm allowed a 'big' lie in! And I've been known at work when really struggling to go to our shower room and lie down on the cold tiled floor to sleep after lunch for half an hour. Desperate measures, but there's nowhere else appropriate.

hopefully · 08/05/2008 15:56

Aw, pidge, I have visions of you huddled up on a cold shower floor trying to sleep!

Sunshinemummy · 08/05/2008 15:58

Pidge I was the same in my last pregnancy in the first trimester. I had at least one sleep a day on the floor of a toilet cubicle.

potxola · 08/05/2008 15:58

Pidge I am also doing the "mini" lie in on saturdays and sundays mornng while my husband deals with my ds. It does help.

jennylindinha · 08/05/2008 16:02

Wow, I feel knackered just to think of all those trains! I'm so lucky that my commute is not that long...

Sunshinemummy · 08/05/2008 16:13

Gosh I must show DP all the mini lie ins that other people are having. We always all get up together.

imoscarsmum · 08/05/2008 16:16

I start my maternity levae officially on 15 Sept (due 20th), but I have annual leave built up, so actually finish work on 22 August - can't wait as I am also tired alot.

I have just got back in from a meeting and I feel such a stupid fool. Driving back through our high street, i totally did not spot (or hear) an ambulance coming through behind me and there were 2 policemen in the road who waved me down and gave me a right telling off! I started to cry and apologised profusely - I just did not see it - and they let me off with a telling off but I feel so awful. How could I not have seen it? I get all upset cos someone could have been dying and I held it up. I am so ashamed. Need some TLC now I think (or a stiff drink, but that's not an option).

DebitheScot · 08/05/2008 16:17

my bp isn't normally low but that was what it felt like this morn. Luckily I didn't have to teach periods 1&2 and then the teaching I was doing for the rest of the day I could do mainly sitting down. I'm not meant to see midwife for another 5 weeks (at 28 weeks) but if I don't feel like I've recovered over the weekend I'll go on Tuesday. I'm hoping that I can also benefit from the long lies on Saturday and Sunday morning. I usually get them but haven't the last 2 weeks coz of having my parents down and being in Cardiff. It does make a big difference getting those extra couple of hours.

DebitheScot · 08/05/2008 16:22

Is starlight ok? She hasn't been on here for ages, she's normally a very frequent poster. Maybe she's on holiday

eandz · 08/05/2008 17:08

i think she is on holiday.

eandz · 08/05/2008 17:30

you guys, if i'm having pain in my private area if i put too much pressure/weight on just one leg....it's nothing to worry about, right?

Sassafrass · 08/05/2008 17:34

Eandz, it might be because all the joints and the pelvis are loosening up. Think it's called spd. I'm suffering with it but it's not very bad at the moment.

My temporary contract ends on 30th of June so I'm just going to start my leave then. I really don't want to do supply teaching the last few weeks of term =)

Izzibiz Congratulations on your little man.

carrieon · 08/05/2008 19:46

Hello everyone, lovely evening eh? I've had a great day as a friend bought me a birthday present (2 months late...) of going for a facial while she looked after dd for an hour! Bliss. Then we sat in her beautiful peaceful garden on the swinging seat, felt like a mini-holiday. And having been out all day, there was no washing up to do!
I've had some braxton hicks, I find they're a tightening of the whole bump, whereas ligament pain (with which I'm all too familiar) is more like period pain and 'ouch' moments under my bump.
sunshine my dh has got up with dd and given me a lie in every day since I got pregnant...show your dp that and claim your pregnant rights! I daren't tell him that my sickness stopped this week in case he stops getting up with dd
I didn't take the Phil&Teds out today, it just looks too shiny and nice and I don't want to sully it with the dirt in the park!

eandz · 08/05/2008 19:47

yes congratulations!!!

splishsplosh · 08/05/2008 20:19

Congratulations to all those who have had scans, more good news

I feel soooo tired. Have hardly sat down from 6am til 7.30pm, and my legs feel so feeble, I felt like crawling up the stairs! I was all too happy to give in to dd and join her in her "bumpity bumpity" sliding down the stairs on her bottom!

I'm very of lie ins. In this house that's the prerogative of p, although I do get to go back to bed sometimes when he takes her to dad's group, or she's at her grandma's at the weekend. But it's not quite the same - it's rare for me to wake later than 6.20am and given a choice I'd be a go to bed late, get up late person
