eandz · 04/05/2008 11:29

so my baby has severely reduced his movement...we're at 20 weeks now, should i be worried?

lollyheart · 04/05/2008 11:46

Try not to worry eandz he might be moving but you just cant feel it i thought i felt all my movements but at my 20wk scan he was movinging in there but didnt feel it and its my 3rd.

Try having a cold drink and lie down see if that gets him going.

ellideb · 04/05/2008 11:51

Oh dear my morning sickness has definately returned. Was sick yesterday and am feeling ill, heartburny and dehydrated today. Not fair. I feel so thirsty and am trying to drink water but everytime I do I feel like throwing up and it gives me terrible heartburn. Am I the only one or has 'MS part 2' made a return for anyone else?

barnpot · 04/05/2008 12:00

morning sickness is just the worst, mines not come back but what really helped me was sucking on one of those glucose tablets. they helped me loads when trying to hide my pegnancy.

eandz · 04/05/2008 12:03

my morning sickness never seemed to have left. although i fool myself sometimes by denying it.

i have the same problem with heart burn and then thirsty-ness constantly invading my night time slumber.

barnpot · 04/05/2008 12:03

I'll add myself to this list, but let it be known that I'm not going in until the last minute, which will probably change when I find out I've been deluding myself about the pain!

lollyheart · 04/05/2008 12:35

Ive never had an epidural.

Im dreading the pain again an epidural sounds great no pain at all the thing is when im in labour i dont like anyone to touch me i just like to get on with it and scream the place down

splishsplosh · 04/05/2008 12:39

Ha, you say that eandz, but when I was in hospital as my waters had broken 2 days before, my labour came on really quickly - the first time they had a poke about, I was already 8cm dilated - probably too late for an epidural to be effective anyway - even as I started to wimper something about thinking I could do with something stronger than g&a, they briskly said, maybe too late, we'll have to see, and that was it
Not that I wanted an epidural, but just, you just might not have a say!

meglet · 04/05/2008 12:57

eandz · 04/05/2008 12:58

i don't know...still sound brave to me. i still can't handle round ligament pain. (i cry for hours).

meglet · 04/05/2008 13:01

splishsplosh sorry your other half is still being an idiot. Pity he won't go to Relate, mine only went after a lot of pressure from me. A doula sounds like a good idea if you can afford it, for a while (when things were really bad) I was thinking that I wouldn't have DP in with me. It's not the time or place you need to be thinking about other people is it? Especially if you aren't getting on. (((hugs)))

Never fancied a waterbirth though. Am not one for baths other than very occasionally and can see myself barking for them to adjust the temperature all the time and shows and things floating in the pool. Nope, I'm a landlubber, but active birth and all that, where I can.

LittleConnie · 04/05/2008 15:29

mustsleep you poor thing you must be so . How can people be so insensitive and cruel? Are they offering you any maternity package, and if not can you look around for a new job?

splish my heart goes out to you with your relationships probs. I sincerely hope you have plenty of family and good friends around you to provide some of the support you need right now.

Mustsleep if you don't fancy going back then burn all your bridges by doing nothing remotely bad for you - it's your body and no-one should be able to put you in danger. Rah.

ON a clamer note, has anyone any opinion on the Out n About Nipper? Is it ok for a newborn? No clue on prams at all.

Talia1 · 04/05/2008 17:36

Clamer? Calmer even!

eandz · 04/05/2008 17:40

carrieon · 04/05/2008 19:20

Oh splish we all really feel for you. Don't know if this helps, but we had some great advice before we got married. One thing was not to use the words 'never' and 'always' (as in 'you always come home late and never get up with the children') coz even though its true, when you accuse someone they instantly jump on the defensive which can shut down all hope of talking reasonably (and the chances are he'll come back with some 'always' and 'nevers' of his own). Instead we were told to say 'when you say x, this is how it makes me feel'. So for example, 'when you're home late and are tired in the morning, it makes me feel as though your friends are more important than your family'. So you're not actually accusing him, you're just saying how you feel and giving him the chance to say he does value you more. Don't know if it'll work, but its certainly nipped many a 'discussion' in the bud in the carrieon house. ((lots of hugs))

eandz · 04/05/2008 20:04

splish--

if talking to him directly doesn't help, do you have a mutual friend or family member that may have noticed the same behavior and would be willing to point it out to him in a neutral manner?

izzybiz · 04/05/2008 20:05

Sorry you are having a crap time splish, lots of understanding ears on here

I have been trying some of the old gender predictions on line!

I did one with a needle and thread over my left hand which tells you the sex of all the children you will have.
Mine went boy-true
girl-true
wavered a bit-i had a termination at 8 weeks

Then girl-this one? and then it stopped!

I also did the chinese one where you put your age and month of conception, that said Boy!

I then did an old wives tale quiz- Girl

Then wedding ring over tummy- Girl

So 3-1 for a girl with the old tricks!
Will see on Thursday!!

slinkiemalinki · 04/05/2008 20:08

Am impressed izzybiz - I'd love to refuse G&A as it made me feel drunk and clouded my memory of the labour, but I can't see myself having the strength next time. Will try to have less though, although I didn't have that much I thought. I have big lungs so maybe it hit me hard.
Have you all spotted the Jan '09 thread? Feel like an old hand at all this lark now...
