Morning..

ISAIDNO, I'm so to hear that, at least you know and can prepare properly now. Is it really in the way, will it be a c-section or will a Vaginal Delivery still be OK?

HEFFA - BH can be horrible can't they!

TWINKLE - Made me shudder about yor poor DH's finger! Will have to watch out for that on my P & T!

MINKUS - sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Glad DH has redeemed himself!

I had such a busy weekend, Baby Show Saturday and then FIL 70th Birthday party yesterday, my bloody hip gave up the ghost half way through, so I couldn't chase DS around, felt guilty but evryone else seemed happy enough to do it! I then gt home and had a bath, and was getting reall sharp shooting pains in my tummy, under the bump, started to get worried! They seem OK today though, think I just overdid it! I feel so sorry for those who have suffered SPD the whole way through, I was crying in pain yesterday, it was awful! You all have my every sympathies.

JODIEhavingababy · 19/05/2008 10:49

Ahh LIBRALADY - put your feet up and chill! Don't be tempted by anything houseworky! When you go to the docs, pick up a mag and some chocolate while your there

mcchesers · 19/05/2008 10:51

Twinkle- Hope your DH is better owie!

isaidno - sending out placenta shifting vibes your way.

SK - With you on the acid reflux..horrible stuff. I can sleep as long as no one wakes me up. If I'm up..the acid hits my tummy I'm up.

I went to breakfast with my DH yesterday and asked for a cheese and mushroom omelette and she put red chilis in it?! I almost died. It was like swallowing battery acid down my poor previously acidic esophagus. I was coughing and crying..and was sick at my stomach for the rest of the day.

Needless to say estate agents are coming out on Wednesday to do the photos since I didn't get anything done yesterday just hanging around the toilet. If I wasn't preggers I'd have poured salsa on the whole thing and wolfed it down.

Good news is I packed my hospital bag, just need some open front nighties, a spray bottle and some dettol wipes. I still don't have any baby blankets!

isaidno · 19/05/2008 10:56

Thanks for the messages; Jodie - I'm guessing the consultant tomorrow will decide if a vaginal delivery is a safe option. I hope so cos I don't want a c section.

Libralady - have a nice lie down and relax - stuff work!

mcchesers · 19/05/2008 11:00

Isaidno - missed your update..stupid computer. Big hugs to you lady, I hope it all goes well tomorrow and they can put your mind at ease some.

Libralady - hope you are getting some rest.

JODIEhavingababy · 19/05/2008 11:01

Oh MCCHESERS - I think I would have sent the stupid ommlette back, my acid reflux is horrible and getting worse, I had it all the way through with both pregnancies! I had a sweet chili dip with some Prawn Crackers the other day, OMG I thought I was going to die in the night! {grin]

ISAIDNO - send out good vibes for you keeping all fingers and toes crossed!

libralady · 19/05/2008 11:04

Thanks for the support ladies. It is much appreciated.
I'm just feeling sorry for myself at the moment, which isn't really me.
Didn't help at the weekend that DH decided he was going to play cricket on both days so I still ended up looking after DS whilst he 'enjoyed' himself. Although I went along to give moral support (get me out of the house and away from the mountains of ironing)I still had to run after DS is he strayed out of my sight. Think that was why I was so uncomfortable Saturday night from the constant up and down from my nice relaxing recliner sun lounger.
Still have baskets of clothes in the living room that need ironing - they are just staring at me and generally making the place look untidy!
Suppose I ought to get out of my work suit and into something more slobby.

Heffa · 19/05/2008 11:16

Libralady - glad you're going to get a break! I hope you feel better soon

MINNIE1 · 19/05/2008 11:44

isaidno
Sorry to hear that, esp if you were planing a home birth. All you can do now is wait and go with the flow.

Heffa
Last day

pigleychez · 19/05/2008 11:49

Isaidno- Sorry to hear its not moved
See what the consultant says but like SK said getting baby out safely is the most important thing.

Libralady- Take the doctors orders and relax!
Hope you feel better soon.

I started packing my hospital bag last night. I dont even have half the stuff i need in it and its pretty much full already! At this rate ill need a suitcase!

Just been to the shops to buy some bits for my bag and also general housey stuff. What a nightmare! Forgot that going on your own means you dont have DH to carry the bags!!

I have a thing about boxes (plastic) and love to have everything arranged into the boxes in order- sad i know. Today i bought lots more boxes for arranging the cupboard under the stairs but luging them back to the car has hard work along with all the other bags.

plus people can be soo rude! This morning, no one held open any doors for me, just let them shut in my face! Can they not see a pregnant woman struggling with bags and boxes!!!!

Oh well - lesson learnt, next time DH will be dragged along.

Just sat down with a choccy bar to recover!

JODIEhavingababy · 19/05/2008 11:58

PIGLEY - Just you wait until you've got the buggy! It's a god send! Then you feel the difference when you go out with out it!!!!

Glad your having a nice 'nesting' day!

Decided to give my self the week off next week so I can finally get the nursery sorted, it's full of junk at the moment! So that will be interesting! Also DS has turned into the worst sleeper in the world, after being so good! So I'm really taking the week off so I can tackle that problem and sleeo while he's at nursery! I hope it goes to plan!

sweetkitty · 19/05/2008 12:05

mcchesers - I'm now taking Zantac for the acid reflux, it is safe in pregnancy and one little tablet lasts all day and night much nicer than pouring a bottle of gaviscon down your throat, other thing I have is milk with banana Nesquik in it, I hate drinking milk but it seems to calm the acid down a bit and can only stomach it if it is flavoured.

isaidno - fingers crossed for the VD but you will also be fine with a section try not to worry.

libralady - put the ironing away from your direct view and iron one little pile a day then it will go down little by little. I only do a small basket a day and it's amazing it keeps it down. I only iron what I absolutely have to so no PJs vests that no one sees. DP does his own too.

pigley - I have a basket thing as well, I got more from Ikea on Saturday, I actually cleaned out a kitchen cupboard and put all the DDs paint and craft stuff away. Can't have too many plastic boxes thats what I say!

Have just bought the DDs a hairdressing set so that will be me all afternoon getting my hair yanked about/done all pretty!

hubarbspong · 19/05/2008 12:06

Just wanted to say that I think you are all absolute stars, if you are going through anything like dw is going through then ladies, I salute you. You all deserve serious pampering.

Thanks again

JODIEhavingababy · 19/05/2008 12:09

hey hubarbspong - how's it all going? How is the 'missus'?

hubarbspong · 19/05/2008 12:35

Doing well, a tiny bit of pv spotting, but each time everything is ok. Babe is moving well, half way through our NCT classes, well worth the time.
Got most things organised for babe, just need to get hospital bag sorted out. I think I've found something appropriately sparkly and shiny as well.
Thanks for asking, I don't post much, but read most days, you all have my utmost respect.

gillythekid · 19/05/2008 12:36

Isaidno crappy news, thinking of you and all of you having a rubbish time with health/DH's/DP's, etc.
I've had enough of the SPD and am going all the way to Maidstone to see my osteopath on Wed, sick of hobbling round!! Can't complain though as I have a wonderful DH and I'm generally feeling good.
Off to TK Maxx and Ikea now to get some baby stuff.

Mummywannabe · 19/05/2008 13:25

Isaidno - sorry to hear your homebirth looks unlikely.

Libra - try to rest

Thanks to all re: birthplan and baby onto tummy. Initially what i thought then DH was all weird about it, not just that but the whole birth thing. Thik its just hitting him that in 7 weeks we should have a little baby with us!

Am shattered nursery cook sick off today so spent 4 hours standing in kitchen cooking lunch for 37 children. Think i may of overdone it as more than a little uncomfortable now. Still only got to get to friday!

tafftaff · 19/05/2008 13:49

Hi all,

Sounds like you all have been through the mill somewhat. Isaidno, sorry to hear you can't have the baby at home...you're a saint in my eyes for even wanting it at home!! I'm too much of a chicken to think that I'll be able to cope without the back-up of medication! I am hoping that I wont need any but am being realistic at the same time.

Twinkle, how's DH's finger? Deffo sounds like a very strong worded letter is required. Top tip from a serial complaint letter writer...don't bother going through customer services, head straight to the CEO, send it registered so you know it has arrived and demand a response in 2 weeks. That way you can legitimately chase it up without them being able to deny receiveing it!

Concerning my DP, well I'm afraid he's one of the good ones. I can't complain at all. He's even tying my shoelaces for me. Hasn't let me lift, carry, do very much since we found I out was pregnant! I did read somewhere not to expect this the second time round though so I am making the most of it now.

We have officially bought the baby's wheels, car seat, nursery furniture and moses basket now! It's only taken 5 months of spreadsheets, internet research and bickering to get there. What a relief!

Mcchessers..I was in Tyyyler because we were members of a timeshare thingy and it was the only place near our roadtrip that had two weeks free. Was very nice, had a jacuzzi in my room! Not much going on in the town though!

Hope all of you that aren't feeling very well are managing to get some rest. Apologies if I keep missing people but my memory can only cope with the last 3 or 4 posts!

Minkus · 19/05/2008 13:58

Bugrit Isaidno, hope consultant is positive even though your home birth looks out of the scene.

Pigley and Sweetkitty- I have a plastic box "thing" too, yesterday I tidied out my wardrobe ( at the crap stuff in there) and have removed all my non pregnant clothes and put them in said boxes! I know I'll be needing them in a few months (well the bigger ones anyway ) but had an urge to make things look tidy and manageable. Sadly that urge doesn't etend to the rest of the house!

And pigley- know what you mean about it being a bind without dh to carry stuff! When I was pg with ds my nesting took the form of batch cooking and freezing meals, did this every day for about a week. At one point I'd run out of food to cook -panic set in- and so walked to the shops. Only 15 mins away but I was 37 weeks and a bit slow on my feet! It was just before xmas and there was a lot of xmas produce reduced- which as I was going to be cooking and freezing that day couldn't resist- and ended up waddling home with about 6 bags of heavy shopping. Took me about an hour but by god I was going to be a good wife and make sure my husband had proper food to eat after the baby arrived even if I'd had to walk barefoot in the snow

libralady take it easy girly, ironing is just not important in comparison to your well being. Be kind to yourself.

hubarbspong well done that man on sourcing something sparkly for your dw!

Mummywannabe- it's a difficult time for our oh's too isn't it? DH isn't terribly keen on blood or needles and was a bit concerned about how he'd cope with the all the "gore". They must feel so out of control and a bit unsure of what is expected of them. Maybe sit down and have a good chat about what really is bothering him about it? Hope you take it easy too after your cooking session!

Well our house is an absolute tip after the weekend, and ds and I have just slobbed about in the garden this morning/took him on a little bike ride round the neighbourhood so nowt else has got done. We made homemade pizzas together for lunch and ate them outside in the garden, washing up yet to be done but I have shut the door so I can't see it and am about to have a little nap whilst he does! (Taking my own advice libra )

zzzzzzzzzz

libralady · 19/05/2008 14:55

God I'm bored. I'm not used to sitting around doing nothing.
I'm trying to catch up on the thread, whilst watching some of the programmes I'd recorded whilst away on holiday. Currently watching the first part of Child of Our Times. I've been following this since it started in 2000. Quite an eye opener. Now I know what to look our for in three years time when DS reaches 7.
Although not too sure about having a sleepover with both sexes at 7, especially in the same room, or am I being old fashioned?
Have just made myself a sausage sandwich and enjoyed it tremendously. Haven't had one for ages, but it's just what I fancied.

pigleychez · 19/05/2008 14:56

Well im just sitting down for a well earnt rest!

So far since my shopping trip ive done 2 loads of washing, cleaned shelves and sorted into boxes the cleaning products from under the sink, and im half way through clearing and sorting out the filing cabinet but had to stop for a bit as my back is killing me!

SK and Minkus-Glad im not the only one with a thing for plastic boxes!
Dh thinks im mad! but then cant complain as everything is organised!

I have even organised the sideboard drawer which is full of all the chargers for things. Each charger is in a labelled sandwich bag! DH was bemuzed when he saw that but agrees it much easier to find the one you want without it being tangled up with others! I really am terrible for things having thier place and organised.

taff taff- What wheels did you finally decide on?

Mummywannabe- I can def sympathise on the cooking. I usually got that job if our cook was off sick! Dinner for that many children really isnt fun!

tafftaff · 19/05/2008 15:04

V jealous of those on mat leave. I still have 5 weeks to go! Wanna start it now though so I can get in some proper nesting!

Pigley, we ended up getting an Icandy Cherry. We have had a mare deciding because after I fell in love with it we read loads of reviews of poor experiences with the wheels and customer service. In the end, I called our trusty pram supplier and they told us that they haven't had any problems and have sold loads of them. I know that's what they are meant to say but they also sold the Loola which was our alternative and could have got loads more money out of us for that but sold us the one they prefered! All very complicated but please don't relay any Icandy horror stories as I don't think I can go through the whole decision making process again. The bit that makes me giggle is that DP will have to push around something that says 'Icandy' on it, ha ha ha!

I am loving the chargers in plastic bags idea! I have three different ones in my drawers and can never find the right one straight away!

pigleychez · 19/05/2008 15:15

Taff taff-

My DH is gadget mad so we have all sorts of chargers for every gadget we own... and thats 100's!

Not heard anything bad about the icandy so you wont hear anything negative from me! I understand what a nightmare it is choosing- i had many a sleepless nights over the pram!

tafftaff · 19/05/2008 15:29

Phew...all I have to do it wait for it to arrive and then I can play with it! My friend is coming up next month with her toddler so maybe we'll have a trial run with him in it!

I would love to have 100's of gadgets but am thinking that all the baby stuff is now taking over my urge for new stuff! Next things to research are baby monitors, breast pumps, sterilisers and TENS machines.

Oooo, someone asked about TENS machines. I think Mothercare are doing a good deal of £30 for 4 weeks and if you are late then they will give you another 2 weeks for free. So essentially, 6 weeks for £30!

isaidno · 19/05/2008 15:45

Tesco do tens machines for £27.50 for up to 6 weeks too. Also ask at your hospital - ours hires them out for about £25.
