scampmum I'm convinced that DD will be coming with us to labour ward.Mum is 1.5 hours away but all these quick labour stories have me completely freaked out!

If it helps we were 1:25 Downs risk for DD and she didn't have it.

Off to bed for a quick nap whilst DD sleeps.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 27/03/2008 12:48

Lovely stories Knitter and TMP - and great pic of TMP and Olivia (lovely name btw!)

A friend of ours was told that her baby was DS and baby was born fine and is a 4 year old now with no sign of DS. Shame - my friend and her DH had the most stressed 9 months of their lives though.

BTW - new meds for heartburn working really well - I can eat and sleep again!

Sheds75 · 27/03/2008 13:14

Afternoon all, Great stories Knitter and TMP, glad all is well with you and your lovely new LO's very .

my nan was trying to persuade my DP that castor oil is the way forward for me! personally the thought of D&V doesn't thrill me, as much as I want my LO to arrive NOW

paranoidmummy · 27/03/2008 13:15

Hi everybody, hope you are all well.

I haven't posted on here for ages but have been lurking! Since I started mat leave i actually appear to have LESS time

I am so so so happy for those who have had their babies. So exciting to read the stories and I'm so pleased all mummys and littl ones are well.

I'm not going to bore you all with stuff going on since i last posted since its been forever! However, my first due date is tomorrow (I have 3 of them and NHS is 'willing' to work by my final date - 6 april - to give best chances of vbac) and after 3 weeks of constant clary sage, lavendar, jasmine, caulophyllum, gelsemium, raspberry leaf, birth ball bouncing, sex, blow jobs (tmi and really does NOT help the acid ingigestion!!!)and walking i have kind of given up!!!! Had a scare on tues when my midwife thought baby turned breech - hee hee. it finally put things into perspective when i thought i may need an elcs as suddenly realised i really wouldn't mind! i just want it to be here and be healthy and if i don't get my vbac then its really not the end of the world i suppose!

anyway baby wasn't breech so not sure what the hell she was on but the cons i saw (not my usual) didn't seem too positive i'd give birth naturally! thanks for the vote of confidence!! decided to just wait and see now, for the first time in weeks i feel really relaxed about the whole thing and a bit 'hipy' and 'go with the flow-ish'!!!

sorry to rabbit on about me me me after saying i wasn't going to but it seemed like a short story before i started typing!!!!

vs, am so sorry to hear about your doppler results and i will keep my fingers crossed that baby comes before the 8th. i think u are the most knowledgable person that i know on natural ways of bringing on labour etc so i'm sure any of the methods you are trying are well researched including the castor oil. u never know it may even work in a few days time when ur body is more ready. as i said i will be keeping everything crossed for you.

scorpio, am also v v sorry to hear about your nan and i hope you are ok . must be so tough for you especially at a time when u want to concentrate on being happy with your impending arrival. it seems u haven't lost your sense of humour - your face about millie not being engaged did make me smile! i know how u feel, this one keeps bobbing out of being apparently 'fully engaged' to totally free!

i'm sure there were other things i wanted to say but think this is well and truly long enough. i wanted to check in while i had the chance. i hope everyone else is well and not getting too fed up!

VictorianSqualor · 27/03/2008 13:20

07963222741 - Peachy
Just incase

paranoidmummy · 27/03/2008 13:29

lol, sorry vs, i don't mean to disappear. i am making a conscious effort to stay put now until this one arrives! i have made a note of the number but i can fathom a guess that i won't be texting it for a couple of weeks!!

ps. have u tried using your breast pump???? that might kick little one into action. i tried mine (not my proudest moment - had dh in fits ) a week or so ago and was actually something that brought on some pretty strong contractions. obviously they stopped again but i reckon if your body is more ready it may be a pretty good way...

soph28 · 27/03/2008 13:45

Hi everyone!

Congratulations to all 4 who have their LO'S now! Am SO , mine will be last, I just know it!

Have midwife this afternoon, haven't seen anyone for 5 weeks so hoping that she'll say something encouraging but probably not- just come back when you're 40 wks.

Also car is in for MOT so will probably have to get bus down to surgery with Toby and Chloe!

I have no idea what position baby is in but not head down I don't think. Still squirming. Am hardly sleeping due to aching back, hips, restless legs and huge amounts of kicking as soon as I lie down! What's worse is total lack of sympathy from DH!

TMP- if we have a girl, Olivia is a strong contender ATM!

Does anyone else need to pee as soon as they get more than 1ml in their bladder? SO annoying!

bunnyrabbit · 27/03/2008 14:24

God yes! And I'm drinking tons of water so weeing every two seconds. Went wee before we left the house yesteday and had to dive in the loo as soon as we got to the Drs which is about 7 minutes away!!!

Mollyfloss · 27/03/2008 14:27

Hi ladies, some of you are really desperate to have your LO's now. Hope you're not waiting too long! I'm happy to have mine stay inside until 40 weeks buy hopefully not too much longer after that!

egyptianprincess · 27/03/2008 14:30

quick question re. raspberry tea- i have the loose tea which i actually dont mind drinking but i was wondering whether the capsules are more effective. couldnt sleep at all last night so ended up "napping" from 10 this morning to 1 pm

northeastmummy · 27/03/2008 14:36

Peachy ... at your DH's schedule!!! That sounds utterly exhausting - for both of you!

I would agree as well about your concerns about childcare. The human body is amazing and it wouldn't surprise me if your worries are making it think you're not ready ...

scorpio1 · 27/03/2008 15:03

Went to GP today and got anti-d's for after i have Millie and some lovely Cocodamol for the afterpains....both safe for breastfeeding - VS I checked

Also got RL capsules from health food shop, just taken one. Says 3-6 times a day, thought i would take 3 times a day for now.

ThePFJ · 27/03/2008 15:06

My mum is definately coming up to see me!!!!
She was supposed to come up a few weeks ago but couldnt in the end as she had too many hospital appointments and cancelled. She was my second birth partner.
Now she tells me she will be here tomorrow for definate!!

I have got all my housework done again and so I am going to relax now and paw over the baby clothes. I also have to sort mine into sizes etc.
Figure this could be a nice relaxing exercise for me. OR I could wait for mum tomorrow and let her help me do it.
She might like that?

I am so happy now.
BOUNCE!!!

northeastmummy · 27/03/2008 15:13

Brilliant news PFJ! Definitely keep the clothes for when she arrives .

Scorpio - what are anti-D's?

I've been so neglectful of my RLT intake - just because I've not been feeling well i suppose. I must start again before it's too late.

KnitterInTheNW · 27/03/2008 15:14

Congratulations, TMP! Aren't we clever!

I've just been trying to put some pics on my profile but it keeps crashing, grrr...

George is going to be a party animal I can tell, he's practising being a teenager already. He sleeps all day, not even waking for feeds (if he goes 6 hours, I have to express some and cup feed him cos he's still not meant to be here really for another 2 weeks) and even that's a struggle. Yet he was up and alert and feeding loads for most of the night! DH wonders if moving to Australia would help so his days and nights are the right way round... [hmmm]

scorpio1 · 27/03/2008 15:15

Lol Knitter can't wait for photos

Anti-d's = Anti-depressants (have history of PND; better if i go on them asap after delivery this time to prevent 'crash')

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 27/03/2008 15:39

Ohh keep trying Knitter - look forward to seeing little George!

Went to view a nursery school today. Didn't make an appointment - just pitched up. Turns out I will have to go back because they were trying to get a baby/toddler to settle or something (waaay over my head). But while I was there I did have a little looksee and I liked what I saw - the children and babies all looked happy and well entertained - no crying/screaming and the lady we saw was jolly nice. So already I am feeling good about them! Plus they are really convenient for us - on the way to the train station. But I will look at a few more and I need to find a few childminders (hopefully walking distance away as well).

My mom came over yesterday to take me baby shopping which was really nice! Baby has a few more things now - I love shopping for baby!

Good plan Scorpio - pays to be organised. I have been reading another posting on MN about this poor woman who is really suffering from PND (and is in Oz with all her family over here). She really sounds like she is having an awful time of it - makes me a little worried actually... but I guess in my case we will just have to wait and see as I have no idea what I will be like. At least you have an idea of what to expect so you can prepare.

VictorianSqualor · 27/03/2008 16:27

FUCK ME I CAN'T WALK.
Baby is crushing me as soon as I stand up, didn't have this with either of the other two I'm assuming it's engaging??
Seriously as son as I stand up I feel like there is about two inches between babies head and the outside world.
Good girl Scorpio I'm so proud of you already you know

northeastmummy · 27/03/2008 16:30

Oh yes Scorpio - I remember you saying that. I agree, definitely worth being organised for that one but fingers crossed you won't need them .

How frustrating about your photos Knitter! Maybe they're too big? Can you resize them a wee bit?

The advice about just pitching up at nursery for a look round is really good - at the very least to make an appointment to see round properly another time. I imagine it would be quite unusual for them to have the resources to show you round when you arrive on the off chance so it isn't something to judge them on. I suppose what matters is how they handle you when you arrive.

EllieG · 27/03/2008 16:32

Hello all - have been out with my Mum for lunch, so feeling much better after peach and apple crumble and custard for pudding yum.

Hey knitter - glad to hear you and George and MrKnitter are doing well - keep trying on the photos, reeeeallly want to see the LO

Someone said on here that RL capsuals are more effective than the tea didn't they? I have been swallowing one morning and night for a week now, not sure if having an effect but I like feeling pro-active. Had more of those period-type pains today, so they may be doing something!

EllieG · 27/03/2008 16:33

X-post there VS - are you OK? Should you get checked out?

VictorianSqualor · 27/03/2008 16:34

I'm fine Ellie just WOWSERS it feels SO heavy!

ThePFJ · 27/03/2008 16:35

Blimey VS are you ok???

Stay put and put your feet up!

EllieG · 27/03/2008 16:37

Ditto what PFJ said. Much relaxing for you this afternoon lady, and that's an order. Maybe this is the start of something......fingers crossed for you VS x

ThePFJ · 27/03/2008 16:38

Glad you are ok VS.
Caps are more effective than tea Ellie. You can take 3/4 a day if you want.
They will cause more period type pains though, but its all for the good. Apparently. :P
