Thread title reflects the fact that every day that passes it dawns on me a bit more

A new buggy is always exciting!

Is anyone else insatiable for crap food today? I have had a big mac meal, a pot noodle, haribo sweets, biscuits, chocolate, and countless other stuff. Still feel a need for something else - but what???

Minkus · 05/04/2008 20:08

Isaidno obviously it's your body telling you that you need these things so go with it Fish n chips is on the agenda here tonight! Mr Minkus is at the chippy as I type, yum! Just going to do some bread for chip butties too

Evening all had a bust day DDs at a birthday party most of the afternoon.

EEC - best wishes for the move hope it all goes well

minnie - hope you have a lovely holiday you are braver than me we have never taken the DDs on a proper holiday yet, too scared!

minkus - I actually have to stop myself spending all day cleaning it just annoys me, my house still looks like a bombsite as soon as I have tided up they have pulled it all back out again. I just informed DP he's to get up the loft tomorrow as well, I'm sure theres more clothes out there need sorting. New buggies are always great, I have to wait until May for mine.

As for food I have had about 6 pancakes, some little buffet sandwiches, bit of carrot cake, some haribo and a chinese takeaway

cass66 · 05/04/2008 22:17

hello all. been away in wales for a week hols. lovely time, disgusted with myself for having so little energy, did an hours easy cycling on easy flat cycle paths and then needed the rest of the day off!!

good news monkey, hope all continues well.

hello brownowl, I also am in york and on my 3rd preg. theres a NCT sale at the york college on sim balk lane this sat if you need stuff. am aiming to go, need some nappies, but will have the kids.

SK, I am with you on not buying anything for this one, not even any socks!! I assume we have everything if it is another girl, and will enjoy donating everything if it is a boy! I don't think I've thrown anything away, have all the baby clothes, toys, rattles etc, even original bottles and spoons. will have to have a hunt in the attic for everything soon.

not enjoying this pregnancy. I remember enjoying it the last 2 times. maybe I'm too old, or maybe this is my body telling me this is the last!

a not hot enough lush bath awaits. might soothe my itchy boobs?? cass.

isaidno · 06/04/2008 07:35

We have thick snow this morning!!!
DC are going to have a fab time!

Cass - I know what you mean about too old; I think I coped better physically at 29 (DS1) and 30 (DS2) than now (age 34).

Minkus · 06/04/2008 09:51

isaidno i'm jealous we only ended upwith about 1cm and that's rapidly melting

cass glad holiday was good I could really do with one too I think!

Paula that is one marathon eating session! Roses and homemade flapjacks especially sound really good.

Hello to everyone I've missed, hope your Sunday is lovely!

sweetkitty · 06/04/2008 10:12

Happy Sunday everyone we had a blizzard this morning and it's freezing.

Cass - I feel the same about this pregnancy, this is my fourth in as many years and I think my body is straining to cope. The pelvic pain is a lot worse and I am feeling a lot more tired this time too. But what we have to remember is we didn't have other DC to contend with, when I was pregnant with DD2, DD1 was only 16-17 months and still slept 2 hours a day so I could rest and she was a really easy contented baby. Fast forward to this time and I have a 3yo and 2yo who fight continously it seems and do not have an afternoon nap. How you lot with 3+ are doing it I don't know, hats off to you supermums. Oh and welcome back from your hols too.

Start of Easter hols tomorrow (how bizarre) so have to think of things for us to do, hope the weather improves.

TJuice · 06/04/2008 12:24

hey all.
having another lazy weekend - might as well make the most. I spent friday night putting together the mamas and papas pliko pramette my brother bought me, which was fun. its so neat - hope it will survive the danish winter. mums here tend to use those massive silver cross type carriages. but they leave their babies outside shops while they go in and also in their gardens to sleep etc. so i guess they need the protection. not sure if i could bring myself to do that . . .

had a nice time eating this weekend too - had a brunch out yesterday with another pregnant friend and our men. i had banana/strawberry pancakes, bacon, eggs, bagel, hashbrowns and heaps of fruit.

then for dinner - made huge homemade caribbean hamburgers (pork and beef mince, green pepper, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion and pick-a-pepper sauce) then topped with grilled pineapple slices, cheese, pickles and calypso chutney. THEN - made Nigella's pineapple upside down cake but doctored it up with ginger, cinammon and vanilla essence. I felt streeeeeeetched after that!

today, I started with good intentions - fruit salad with banana, pineapple, kiwi, orange and apple - but before i knew it,i had crumbled a couple of oreos in it and some chunky milk and white chocolate, covered it in fruit yoghurt and some chocolate granola. What was supposed to be healthy became hugely piggy and decadent!

Anyway, enough food porn.
So sorry for the pregnancy ailments some of you are suffering. Its got to be so tough going through this with young kids too. I guess first-time pregnancy is relatively easy. I have a bit of backache but I really should go for a walk and get some fresh air today. Tomorrow I have a chiropractor session, which i am a bit nervous/sceptical about. Luckily its part of my company's medical insurance - otherwise I can't believe how expensive these things are. £50 a session here in Denmark.

sweetkitty - that is some supermum cleaning up! I get a bit nit-picky about clutter so like to tidy a lot but I hate cleaning sooo much and its used to be a source of huge arguments until we got a fortnightly cleaner. Its £20 for the flat to be properly done and its seems so worth it now. I really want to clean the windows though. Every time I look out, I notice the grime, but they are massive old-fashioned double-glass ones so I am gathering the will to do the mission.

good luck with the move, EEC.
have a great holiday, minnie

isaidno · 06/04/2008 14:19

tjuice - you have made me hungry...again.

Kaz1967 · 06/04/2008 14:32

TJuice from personal experience a good chiropractor osteopath is quite honestly worth their weight in gold. They are about £30 here for first appointment then £25 so a fair bit cheaper

BrownOwl18 · 06/04/2008 15:24

Cass - I am planning to go to the NCT sale & hopefully pick-up some things (not too much though as I'll have trouble getting it all back on the bus. I may take my old-lady style shopping trolley!!!!)

Had my first session with a reflexologist yesterday - made LO wriggle like mad. It's not something I would have considered but I am getting it free as I am being a case-study so that the therapist can finish her maternity reflexology certificate.

Only a few flakes of snow and one hail shower here so far.

carrieHD9 · 06/04/2008 18:25

Tjuice, I went to a chiropractor about ten years back after a couple of years of a niggling knee problem and no amount of meds/ physio helping much- I second Kaz, worth it's weight in gold. Sorted everything and no problems really since then.. Also trying to eat healthily but falling off the wagon at regular intervals! We went to the cinema a few days ago and I had cinema nachos (a culinary delicacy- liquid cheese, mmm....) the baby went nuts! Not sure if enjoying junk food or protesting vigourously at the crap I was giving it whilst exspecting it to grow brain cells at a rate of knots!

sweetkitty · 06/04/2008 19:16

Feeling a bit more organised tonight, got DP to get down all the old clothes and there was about 8 bags full. Found tonnes of newborn clothes I had forgotten about, don't think I will have to buy anything now but bet I will. Can't believe how small the vests are. There were a few really tiny 7 1/2lbs clothes that I bought for DD2 but she was 9lbs 3ozs, DD1 stole them for her doll

Also got my slings down for a look as well.

Minkus · 06/04/2008 20:50

Kitty I've been doing the same! Sorted through loads of bags of baby clothes, now separated into unisex and blue piles so that should this one be a girl I know which stuff to get rid of/dye lilac. But think that reaching up ladder to get things dh was passing down from loft was a bit of a mistake my bump is soo stretched now, feels really uncomfortable. Guess I've overdone it a bit so taking it easy this evening.

Tjuicecan I come and live with you please? Your food sounds delicious!

libralady · 06/04/2008 21:03

Also got DH to go up into the attic earlier however he claims he cannot find anything newborn or 0-3 months. I know I haven't got rid of it all!
I did sell some stuff on e-bay when I had no intention of ever going through this pregnancy lark again, but there were some special things I held onto. I just wish I could get up into the attic and have a good look myself! Not that there's much room up in there.

Mind you our attic is a disgrace. Said before I was pregnant that it was a rainy sunday afternoon job, but easier said than done with a three year old. Always found alternative things to do.

Still got a load of my Nan's stuff in the attic. It's her old house and until she passes we don't really know where it is to go to iyswim. She's 100 in August and now in a really good care home. OK physically except for arthritis, but mentally shot to pieces bless her. Not agressive, just really forgetful. In a normal hour visit, she ask's what the weather is doing at least 6 times! It's not alzheimers, just loss of short term memory. She can still remember what happened during the wars and holds a grudge against the germans - even now!

libralady · 07/04/2008 06:09

Morning all,

Is anyone else suffering from horrendous cramps in their legs and feet?

For a couple of weeks now I've been woken at least 4-5 times a night with these cramps and I'm getting pretty p**d off now!

isaidno · 07/04/2008 07:20

I had a friend had night leg cramps during pregnancy. she used to say a banana for supper helped! Something to do with the potassium I think!

JODIEhavingababy · 07/04/2008 08:27

Morning,

Libralady I do a few stretches before I get into bed and it seems to do the trick, I've also heard the banana thing works too..

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, whatever the weather? It was very snowy here yesterday, it looked so beautiful, lets hope winter is out of the way and we can start getting some sunshine. Has anyone else noticed that the sun is getting nice and warm (when it decides to make an appearance)

I REALLY need to get up in the loft to sort out what I've got, it's just one of those things that keeps on getting put off, but time is starting to run out!!!!

Minkus · 07/04/2008 08:44

Morning everyone

Libra I'm getting cramps too, it's really annoying and painful isn't it? Hopping round the bedroom at all hours. With ds cramp was in the arches of my feet and this time its in my ankles and shins [weirdo who has muscles in wrong places emoticon]

Have heard that low salt can cause this as well as the potassium thing so loaded up my fish and chips on Saturday night and haven't had cramp since- but think I will try your remedy isaidno, it sounds a lot healthier!

Off to see a friend and her 5 week old baby today, will be lovely to snuggle a tiny baby again! Although I really want to stay and play with the baby clothes we got down from the loft too (for "play" read "sort, wash, dry, fold, refold x5, arrange in drawers, start again" as previously discussed ). I love laundry me!

Have a good day all
x

Morning all xx

Well DH is away back to work today and has finished decorating utility room and hall
This is the 2nd week of my hols and I'm going to start today clearing out our bedroom ready for make over!!! Will be giving birth in here and want it to be just perfect!!

ah well time to get busy xx

sweetkitty · 07/04/2008 08:52

Morning first day of Easter hols here so with no mad nursery dash we are taking it easy and are still in PJs.

Funny to hear everyone else is starting the loft thing too, must be we are all coming up to the same stage and beginning to think we should be getting organised. I even put a pack of newborn nappies on the Tesco shop today.

DP has been great at the weekend especially after his shenanigans Thursday and Friday. I think he has realised I am really struggling and since my only source of support is him he needs to be really there for me just now. We are also thinking of ways we can get some outside help a cleaner, nursery for DD2 a few mornings etc. I am a really independent person so it's very hard for me to stop being me and accept I have to take it a bit more easier.

No leg cramps here but had heard about the potassium/banana thing.

NikNakF · 07/04/2008 10:24

Hi all,

Hope you are well this morning.

At work but started the 'clean/buy/sort pre-baby list' - it's getting big and only been at it for an hour or so

Of course, hair cut and colour is a must-have treat, and on the list in bold x
