morning all! hope you are all well ? i am having a major panic about my scan this afternoon, my baby doesnt seem to move much and it has me worried . home with dd now so getting my self in a panicky state .xxxx

CaptainCaveman · 27/03/2008 07:25

Don't panic mummypud!! My bean doesn't move too much either. The odd little kick here and there but nothing like what I had with ds. How about a nice long walk this morning - or anything else to take your mind off this afternoon? (((((mp)))))) Can't wait to see you post your happy news later - are you finding out what flavour it is?

Ds up at 6am today......I cannot wait for the clocks to go forwards this weekend - I might get more of a lie-in in the mornings!

Happy Thursday everyone x

VintageGardenia · 27/03/2008 08:35

Hello early risers, we are still on holiday here so lazing in fine style.

mummypud, mine is like that too, at the scan they said position of placenta (at front) cushioned movement and not to fret about it. Good luck with scan!

Sazzles well done on your buggy! I'm feeling v. behind in the organisation stakes now.

Weighed self this am, have put on a horrific 1 st 4 pounds at 22 weeks. Weak with horror.

dizzydixies · 27/03/2008 09:13

are you lot mental on the clocks - it only means its lighter earlier and they'll think they soon be up sooner AARRGGHHHHHHH!!!! mine are early risers too so sympathise!

sazzles on the buggy!

mummypud too exciting, will check back later to see how you get on!

VG STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALES!!!! I asked GP to weigh me last time I was in and she gave me a row saying I had better things to be worrying about, them again with the amount of V&D am hoping am on a even keel at the moment

confused and Lonely I hope you managed to get some sleep last night and are on the phone to the MW and antenatal getting some answers - thinking of you

mornin all,
I,ve got my 20wk scan next tues. Over the last wk or two have felt bubble like sensations which I think is movement (first pg so not a clue really!)Anyway cos I like a good worry - over the last couple of days I,ve had cramping pains in my lower abdomen and a stitch feeling on my right hand side. Was wondering if this is just the stretching pains back.(haven,t had them recently) Do you get them on and off all through pg?. Have been looking up my pg books but nothing is mentioned about them, just about them in the first 12wks.I think I just flap when I know a scan is coming up!!
and I agree, sack the scales! My dp laughed out loud this morning when I put on my gigantic new preggers bra. He said I looked like Ma Larkin!

VintageGardenia · 27/03/2008 10:37

oh I enjoy your reactions to my weight so much more than I do my own.

What a sane bunch of bumps you are!

mummypud · 27/03/2008 10:44

Karney , i think pregannt ladies must worry more than any one else! i had the stitch feeling every time i walked when i was around 20 weeks with dd, it was more annoying than anything, this time around i cant walk very far at all as i am in pain under my bump , have done my research and it all says this is normal , i wondered if it was due to nme having a c section last time. either way i hope it eases off . i will mention it to midwife at next appointment.

sazzles thats excactly it , it just feels so heavy and i have to stop when im walking every so often , actually avoiding walking far at all now, am also interested in seeing if anyone has used a belt post cs as it would be worth a go i think, i cant afford all these bus fares! xxx

BraveNewWorld · 27/03/2008 11:08

Hi again all, sorry to have been awol and hope everyone is coming along nicely.

Had the 20 week scan yesterday and all Ok thankfully though pretty nervewracking how it goes on and on with the ventricles, arteries, murky kidneys etc. Wish I'd paid more attention in class! Was also a total mess afterwards - couldn't stop blubbing in scary loo with easy-to-trap-you sliding door - think mixture of relief that all vitals were OK and news that IT'S A GIRL!

Off to buy a new bra to celebrate - one that doesn't slice my swelling ribcage. Anyone seen nice swim stuff on high st or online?

PS I didn't feel movement for ages and now lots of kicks and nudges - actually she's very active just not big enough to knock into me! Enjoy the peace while it lasts!

mummypud · 27/03/2008 11:12

congrats on the scan news bravenewworld! great news! am off for lunch and then to scan! feeling a bit wobbly to be honest , will update you all later .xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

BraveNewWorld · 27/03/2008 11:14

Good luck, you're bound to be nervous but the scan will hopefully reassure you and you'll get some nice pix to pore over for next few weeks.

SKYTVADDICT · 27/03/2008 11:25

Hi all

Was going to try and catch up but not much hope really!

Had 20 week scan yesterday and didn't find out what it was - nearly killed me when I had to say I didn't want to know. DP won!
Lady said it had its legs together anyway so she probably coudn't have told us!

All was well, no soft markers for Downs (1 in 90 chance from blood tests). Midwife said afterwards that if baby had Downs then they would expect to see at least one soft marker.

Had a quick read down and I've been getting stitch too! Can't walk far without getting it and woke up in the night with it!

Congrats on your scan braveneworld.

I will try harder to keep up.

Have to work every day next week so should be able to a bit!

BraveNewWorld · 27/03/2008 11:32

Thanks all, ps I've had tonnes of stiches this week. Perhaps a sign to go-slow?!

dizzydixies · 27/03/2008 11:44

oh lovely another girl - maybe we should update the list with who's having what?

VG have possibly found a nice dress for this wedding. The red is in the sale but have never been a red person -could maybe stretch to purple or black and then stick it on ebay and get something back?

what does everyone think?

matty dress

mummypud my friend who is 32wks just been given a belt by the physio - I've been given the very attractive tubi-grip for the torso!! get the MW to refer you to the physio and they'll soon sort you out!!

who's looking for bras then

try figleaves and bravissimo online

figleaves and bravissimo

tis normally where I get bras for my huge norks and they both have easter sales on just now!

dizzydixies · 27/03/2008 11:45

and did you know there is a due in DEC thread now!?!?!?!?!?

Shazza2002 · 27/03/2008 12:00

Morning ladies

Beautiful dress Dizzy. I would love to be able to wear that, but something tells me when it's time for me to go to friends wedding at end June I won't know where calves stop and ankles start!!

I may have confused people yesterday, I do actually want a surprise but had been doing a bit of 'research' on the internet as what to look for if boy/girl. So I kind of wanted to have an idea in my head but still have the surprise if that makes sense. Yes mad I know

Well good news is I also saw the consultant yesterday which I didn't expect. Basically because of my problems last time with pre-eclampsia (apparently baby and I were at risk but they didn't tell me how much at the time as not to worry me which I kind of understand) so want to keep an eye on things this time. So from 24 weeks I have to go to hospital every 2 weeks, then from 30 weeks I have to go every week. So whilst it was a bit of a shock I'm also relieved to feel like they are taking care of me. But good news is blood pressure was completely normal at first testing yesterday so things are already better in this PG

VintageGardenia · 27/03/2008 12:00

Oooo like that a LOT dd. Love the shoes with the red one too. If the dress is jersey you might get some Mama Spanx to guarantee the perfection of the silhouette. Not cheap but meant to be pure magic.

karney · 27/03/2008 12:01

Thank Mummyp. I shall try to go through the rest of this day without worrying about something or another(ha!)
dizzyd, I really like the dress, probably something I would go for myself but I might be tempted to go for the plum colour. Red is fab just depends on your own colouring. I find I don,t know for sure til I try them on. xxx

TwilightSurfer · 27/03/2008 12:19

Dizzy I think the dress is sharp!! Go for it!!

Pains pains and more pains...yes belly pains of all types here. They come and go. My first pregnancy was filled with more intense pains at later times than now. Lots of pelvic floor pressure this time too. Walking is only done in bits. When I feel heavy I sit for while. All normal.

Baby movement...she moves then she doesn't move. Last week I don't think she moved AT ALL. Had lots of pains too SOOOOO think it might have been a growth spurt. In my mind the baby sleeps alot during those. This week, she's moving around trying to get comfortable....making things a little uncomfortable for me. I think feeling the movement depends on how many pregnancies you've had (the more you have the more you feel sooner), how far along you are, your body size, and the position of the placenta. With so many factors it's easy for some woment to not feel much and others to feel loads. I wouldn't worry.

I WON another cute bathing suit of ebay last night. My DH officially thinks I'm crazy now. While waiting for the auction to close I purchased a baby tub. Oh I LOVE ebay.

19+5 today. YEAH!!!
