confusedandlonely my thoughts are with you.

Hazie was interested in your story about the coccyx as I broke mine about 12 years ago and now (especially when I've been sitting at my desk for a while) it really hurts when I stand up again.

My scan is on 5 April and still feels like a long way to go and time is dragging...

Buckets congrats on your little boy. I think mine is a boy, will be much happier after I've had the scan though. Strangely nervous this time - maybe because this will be my last?
C&L My thoughts are with you too and I'd be just as worried. But it does sound as though this can be managed. The doctors don't sound too concerned (from your post at least) but perhaps you need to go back and ask more questions to get reassurance. Could you ask for an appointment with the consultant? Agree with dizzy, DON'T research on the internet, it will make you stressed and won't help.
Shazza good luck with your scan. TS mine is on 15 April if you do an update at any point!

Petitfilou I might try that next time. DD finally straightened up and was actually in a good mood walking into preschool. I'm now enjoying a bit of peace at a cafe where my friends just left after a cup of coffee. It's good to recharge with your girlfriends every now and then. Time to run errands...

Sorry have not been around (I'm sure I wasn't missed!), have been busy with Easter holidays etc and trying to organise work stuff and poor old DP is sick and just a load of etc etc etc.

Buckets, so happy to hear you are having a son! Congratulations, now you can settle to the name debate in earnest and can start imagining life with a wee boy.

dizzy you've had a busy time too with sickness etc, and how is your mum doing now?

Evening ladies

Just got home. Everything fine with scan once baby decided to play ball. Spent the first 5 minutes curled up in a ball. Then spent the rest of the time with it's hands and feet hiding it's face, was as if it was saying "No, go away". But, no sign of any boys bits or any girls lines so still none the wiser. My sister thinks she saw lines but that's because she has 2 boys but desperatly wanted one of each so I think she would be a bit if I had one of each. Plus she loves playing with DD and getting pretty clothes so would prefer me to have another girl for that reason also. So you know how sometimes if you want something hard enough you can convince yourself.

Hope everybody else is ok.

hi everyone, thanks for your kind thoughts and messages. i've spent today with my feet up and this is the first time computer's been on. DP back tonight so at least i won't be on my own later. I have stopped doing research myself, you're all right, it was scaring me more than helping. I've been phoning the midwife's office and antenatal ward all day today, left so many messages and nobody has rung me back. eventually i got through on the "emergency" number and spoke to someone there who told me off for not asking the registrar more questions yesterday. As you can probably imagine this made me cry and i think she finally realised that i just wanted some advice! I didn't get any reassurance at all. She didnt suggest drinking lots of water, said resting might help but re the asprin she'd find out for me and call me back. Hey, guess what...she hasn't phoned yet! i'm still feeling baby kicking so i'm trying not to worry but if he stops i'm going straight up to the hospital

Sorry to hear about what a worrying time you're having C&L. It's SO annoying when calls aren't returned. Surely if you work in that sort of area you can imagine how worried the people whose calls you fail to return are.

Our scan went well. Little girl! . We're both really pleased and I've surprised myself by how relieved I feel. I come from an overwhelmingly female dominated family, so it feels far less scary, especially having had a baby girl already.

The sonographer was great and didn't seem to rush us through and took the time to really explain what she was looking at. It really is incredible what you can see, isn't it?! We got a pretty good look at the face too. Not that it means much at this stage, but she's certainly looking quite different to DD. All the important bits seemed to be where the should be too. Phew!

Confused...I'm sure you've not consumed too much but yes, water can be toxic. It's very very rare. I'd feel terrible if I didn't admit to knowing that and something happened to you. I'll type again...IT IS RARE. Here's a CNN article on daily water consumption that should help you figure out what should be best for you. You're doing the best thing for yourself by resting. Feet up / Stress down!! Best moto in town. Please keep us posted on your status.

Poppysocks YEAH!! Another GIRL!! I too come from a female dominated family so completely understand that odd feeling of relief. A boy would have been nice but, for me, a girl will be much easier.

Shazza sorry you didn't get a confirmation as to boy or girl. Will you get to have another scan??

Where oh where is this pg going? 20 weeks tomorrow . eeeeeekkkkkk. Was just trying to plan maternity leave today, working out how late I can finish etc. Trying to get as much time as possible at the other end as ds starts school in January. If poss I would like to go back to work after Easter - i think I can do it if I can wangle 4 weeks unpaid leave....better start saving now then!

Had a weird dream last night that I was doing my own ultrasound scan - only I was seeing it as if I was inside my own tummy. Baby was really happy and healthy, I was looking in its' mouth, and at it's fingernails, and it was telling me how comfy and happy it was. Then I looked around a bit more and saw some boy bits!! Prophetic or not, it was the most lovely comforting dream and I felt really close to my baby {bliss emoticon}

Shazza and poppysocks congratulations on successful scans! Am I the only person holding out for a surprise? Beginning to wish had asked at the 20-week scan.

Confused am and that you don't get a more empathetic approach on the other end of the phone. Surely it doesn't take much cop-on to be a bit less rough and ready in the bedside/phoneside manner dept. Glad your DP will be with you tonight, nothing like a nice pair of arms around you, and some reassuring kicks from the little one, to make you feel better.

VG we aren't finding out the flavour of this bean either! Am happy to wait and see, but understand wanting to find out too as we did with ds.

I know what you mean, CC - I can understand wanting to find out, and do think ooooo if only I'd asked, but at the same time I quite like that traditional moment - "Congratulations, it's a _!"

Captain I've been thinking the same thing all day....this trip is almost over!! So much to do and so little time to actually do it now. DD gets out of school in 8 weeks so I need to have everything in place (or a least most things in place) before then otherwise I'll be dealing with her whilst trying to get it done. Summer's almost HERE!!

Is it very very wrong of me that one of the reasons for not finding out is because I know it will annoy my mother soooo much by her having to wait and see!! hee hee. I'm wicked really.
