good news littleducks, take it easy now and if you have arnica use that - cream for the skin and pillules for the internal bruising. It's great stuff.

Good news little ducks,...thank you for letting us know. As I said, you will ache for a while if my hoofing was anything to go by!

Keep us posted gal!

JayneF · 10/03/2008 16:01

MB,..am signing out now but just wanted to say I hope you go well nd that you get the tea and teacake soon

Glammama · 10/03/2008 16:01

Hello all
(waves from other side)

Can I just say sleep when your baby sleeps if possible. Oh, and buy some kleenex mansize. You may find yourself weeping on occasion.

Recovered pretty much from birth now, my scar is pretty neat and I've been off the painkilers for a while.

Charlie is being a newborn baby, sometimes sleeping, sometimes not.

Had a nightmare with breastfeeding as he was jaundiced and I stupidly listened to the midwives who told me I needed to top up with formula. Consequently I had a baby who couldn't latch onto breast agaiin after doing it for a couple of days and breasts that seem physically incacpable of expressing, despite different pumps.
So, I have finally resigned myself to fact that Charlie is not breastfed and have to have lots of cuddles instead. One advantage to formula is that I can see how much he takes and he has managed to put on a pound in ten days.

Anyway, beter go as there seems to be some complaining from the other side of the bed.

For all you overdue women, I really hope you get some action asap.

Horrible husband is making me cry. Apparently I don't pay him enough attention at the moment. Is it wrong when he says that to fantasise about shooting him?

Am bfeeding and typing at same time!! Yay!

Turtle, it's not wrong and get used to it - in post natal crying sessions (gone now) I thought many evil thoughts about DP. There were a few days where anything he did drove me up the wall and reduced me to tears. Bloody hormones.

All those waiting -- so sorry you having this extended early labour - feeling bad for complaning about my early one. Can't believe we have these stubborn early March babies. As someone said earlier we'll have to have words with them at the first meet up.

My poor baby girl finally has a name! Sanam Ruth. Sanam, (pronounced SA-nim) is a unisex Indian name meaning 'dearly beloved'. It's also a Turkish girl's name meaning 'lover'. People we tell either love it or hate it - my family hates it - but I don't care. I think it suits her and is quite cosmopolitan (already prjecting identity on to her, yes, you caught me!). Ruth is my middle name and my grandmother's first name.

Jayne, LOL at the predictions!!

Glam, good to see you! I am having trouble sleeping when the baby sleeps as I get all worked up to start a feed and then hard to come back down again. That said, she'll be three weeks tomorrow and I feel like we are making real progress on the feeding sleeping front, even from last week. My aunt leaves Wed so starting them I am on my own which to be honest am craving. feeling it's time for visitors to go home and us to get to a schedule that we can maintain over time. Oh yes and more time for mumsnet :.)

C'mom babies!!

ibblewob · 10/03/2008 17:35

Why thank you JayneF, I am quite partial to homes under the hammer

Sorry your husband is being rubbish turtle, hope it's short lived. Mine is great most of the time but I know he's clocking it up in his head as 'brownie points' to be redeemed later!

Great news littleducks, hope things continue well.

Congrats Glammama and MNFM - am v. . Hopefully will be joining your ranks tomorrow!

c4it · 10/03/2008 19:02

Well, had NCT refersher course today and am feeling much more positive - lots of new ideas for effective labour at home (am determined to make the most of it in case they make me go in in the end).

Also no longer feel like I'm being unreasonably difficult to want my birth my way and am ready to do battle with the consultant if necessary. So knowing what sods law is like this baby will probably co-operate now (she says hopefully!?!)

AdelaideJo · 10/03/2008 19:17

You know the bit on the hypnobirthing CD "Effective Birth Preparation", where dulcet-toned lady says (towards the end), "You WILL be attracted to the right kinds of food and drink for you and your baby"..........?

Well today I've had a packet of Lucozade dextrose sweets (foul addictive drugs that they are), bar of Galaxy and a Fry's Peppermind Cream. All within 2 short hours.

I feel quite quite horrid now!

JayneF · 10/03/2008 20:30

Turtle,...not wrong re: shooting. Very wrong to fantasize e.g. about stabbing him in the face,...but shooting is ok and much easier to plead mitigating circs.

AdelaideJo, you sound like you got a touch of what I have...on the basis that at this time of year they count as a necessary dairy product, and are essential preparation for BF, I have scoffed a dozen and a half frozen creme eggs in less than a week.

Am full of self loathing, or will be just as soon as I can get this damn wrapper off!

I also cry alot,...mainly when I can't get the damn wrappers off........

piggyp · 10/03/2008 20:54

glad you're ok littleducks.
i'm bf + typing - so no capitals, how did you do it marchmum?
Definately agree with trying to sleep when the baby sleeps, but it is difficult.
emily slept from 12.30 till 6ish in the morning last night, which was a bit of a change from not really sleeping at all - but she went all that time without feeding, is that very bad for her?

ibblewob · 10/03/2008 21:13

JayneF - frozen creme eggs? Am in love with all things creme eggy - what are these?

JayneF · 10/03/2008 21:27

Well ibblewob,...it is very technical. They are very like the normal, but stomach turningly sickly, room temperature ones, but have been ..er...frozen. Or at leaset deeply chilled if time is of the essence! Also, wrappers come off easier.

I dream of them. Mind you being overdue is, I think, the reason for barmy deams. Last evening I was doing unspeakably filthy things with the Prime Minister ( can you believe that?),...but I suppose it is marginally better than last overdue PG because it was John Prescott who featured in that episode.

All this before any whiff of gas & air.

tori32 · 10/03/2008 21:38

Piggyp - no thats fine to go that length of time so long as she feeds lots during the day. Most babies do have a long sleep strech just that it doesn't always fall in the night . Make the most of it!

Littleducks- really glad your scan went ok. Hope the bruising calms down soon {{hugs}}.

Come on merryberry!! Lets see this baby!

Sending labour inducing vibes to all those overdue and imminant due dates....

MOBTK and I have spent a chilled out day nattering and eating, which was lovely. No news for me at all. No BH so think this baby will be late [grrr] Very of those early babies.

I have also been plagued by people asking have I had it and 'still here!' To which I casually say 'I am not due for another 2 wks'

Take care all

tori32 · 10/03/2008 21:39

Sorry stretch

JayneF · 10/03/2008 21:43

Hello Tori32, when are you due honey?

tori32 · 10/03/2008 21:49

Hi Jaynef oooh will you predict me!! Not due til 23rd though and don't want it until 21st as DH can't be off work before then!

JayneF · 10/03/2008 22:00

Oh yes, it is very clear for you,..yours will arrive on 19th in a blaze of glory and with more thqan a hint of drama, eg, power faiure, phones down, long trek in snow to hospital across snowy fields,(and in an ironic twist of empathy, casually delivering a ewe of her breech lambs on the way)..from which you will emerge like a revered heroine of suffragette proportions. Baby will be called Larry,...or is that one of the lambs,...not sure...and DH will FOREVER be in your debt for not being there to assist. You wil dine out on the story for years and amy many small, exquisite and terribly expensive Tiffany type presents will come your way.

JayneF · 10/03/2008 22:01

PS Tori, if you live in an urban area,...you need to move house immediately for full effect,...otherwise it will be Argos diamonds,...not as sparkly!

ibblewob · 10/03/2008 22:11

Lol at the dreams JayneF - had exactly the same thing. Mine were about James Macavoy though... (do I win?) DH saw him and Anne Marie Duff in a restaurant the other week, I got very excited!

Will try those frozen eggs, never heard of doing that.

ibblewob · 10/03/2008 22:12

Am off to bed now... everyone keep their fingers crossed for me with induction tomorrow!

JayneF · 10/03/2008 22:19

Yep you win, ibbs, have no idea who James Macevoy it but just know he has to be better than GB/JP!!!!

PS just posted on your other thread (serious comment!). Best wishes and freeze those eggs,...if you do notlike them to eat you can alway pop one on any stiches you get Ahh, that's better!

tori32 · 10/03/2008 22:24

LOL jaynef as I do live in a very rural part of Dorset so with the weather it seems a very plausible ending to my pregnancy! It can't come that early though!!
