Take it easy scorpio - let us know how you get on x

Hello micegg - sorry you're having a rubbish day

Peachy · 26/02/2008 15:02

Better to annoy MW and trrek to hospital than have a premmie with no time to get the steroids in though

And you KNOW that !

sagitta · 26/02/2008 15:02

I wouldn't worry about annoying the MW - its her job, and better to do that than either worry, trek to hospital, or miss something important...

micegg · 26/02/2008 15:07

Sorry Scorpio . I didnt see your situation until after my post. Ignore my stupid post. Get yourself down to the MW and hope you feel better soon. Much better to be on the safe side thats what they are there for.

Scampmum · 26/02/2008 15:07

Hello everyone, I am lurking. My lent resolution went out of the window a bit - still signed off as SPD so bad I can't walk. MN must be more mentally stimulating that constant TV, right? Have dipped into MN but felt bad about coming on this thread as you all knew about my lent resolution - how stupid is that?

Anyway, I've missed you all! Scorpio, I would definitely call the midwife. Do you know if the baby is posterior or anterior (can you feel a back down the front of your bump)?

Something else I wanted to comment on but it's fled my atrophied brain...

Scampmum · 26/02/2008 15:09

Oh and micegg, I've been really up and down emotionally, too. Yesterday pain was so bad I was just lying in bed crying but today I seem much better equipped to cope with it in spite of having had approximately zero sleep.

I feel bad about being at home with DD at nursery but I think it's more fun for her because I'm so immobile we can't really do anything fun. I am picking her up early, though.

Scampmum · 26/02/2008 15:10

Peachy - hope you can get it sorted.

EllieG · 26/02/2008 15:19

It's not a stupid post mice - we all come on here to moan sometimes (or every day in my case!) vent all you like x

northeastmummy · 26/02/2008 15:33

Hi micegg - crossed posts last time. Hopefully the buttons have done the job and coming on here will cheer you up a bit. PMSL at Peachy having to be rescued by DH!!

Scamp, so good to hear from you! Rules are there to be broken you know .

Scorpio, hope things ease off a bit after your bath. Don't leave it too long if not though ...

Scampmum · 26/02/2008 15:37

Oh yes, bump issues - I don't understand where the food I drop on my bump EVERY meal used to go? on my lap? or is it just that I'm further back from the table now?

And the nursery parking spots are really close together (and I am a whizz at reverse parking but awful at bays) and I have had to wait for someone to leave before getting out quite a few times!

Thank you, NEM, I was beginning to feel like I wasn't in the gang anymore! Toast Addict, I'm sorry, but I consoled myself by eating ALL of your birthday cake. I'll shuffle off and get you a new one. Carrot or chocolate? (they both count in the 5-a-day but carrot is two portions)

northeastmummy · 26/02/2008 15:43

Oh, I keep forgetting to say Happy Birthday Toast - I'm rubbish! I hope you're off doing lovely birthday things .

Scamp - that would never happen. We were all just waiting patiently for you to come to your senses.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 26/02/2008 15:45

Scorpio - just call the MW - for piece of mind if anything else! I am sure she won't mind - it is her job!

Did the choc buttons help Mice? Hope so!

How funny Scamp - I was thinking about you earlier on wondering if you REALLY could stick it out - know I couldn't! Sorry you are still suffering - it must be such a pain not being able to move as easily as you would like.

Just got back from my 31 weeks MW appointment - all is well and am measuring exactly 31cm! Can't beleive that my next MW appointment will be at 34 weeks and I will offically be on maternity leave then! This pregnancy has flown by!

sagitta · 26/02/2008 16:04

Welcome back Scamp! We missed you! LOL about food and bump - I've been wondering the same thing.
And happy birthday Toast!

Denny, are you about? I am having a really hard time getting comfortable at my desk today - do you have any top tips? (I think you're a physio - apologies if you're actually a farm hand/ office manager/ detective or someone equally unlikely to know about desks in pregnancy )

VictorianSqualor · 26/02/2008 16:12

Scorpio, sounds like what I've been having any CX?, I've got bored of it now and just go to bed

northeastmummy · 26/02/2008 16:18

Sagitta I'm really struggling today too. It's the first time I've had trouble just sitting at my desk. I think I might dig out my sitfit for tomorrow - it's like a round inflatable cushion, works the same as a gym/birthing ball.

if you're interested

ToastAddict · 26/02/2008 16:20

Hi everyone

Thanks for all the Happy Birthdays, I feel very special Massage was lovely and baby loved it too

Peachy - I am so at what you are going through, really hope you kick some ass and get it all sorted, I just can't believe kids can be treated like that

Scorpio - hope you're feeling OK - as everyone else says, best to phone midwife and get her opinion rather than have prem baby with no warning

Denny - clicking - I remember reading something on that in the pregnancy thread a month or two ago - think the gist was, they don't know what it is, think it might be the baby's joints clicking?? But there's no real way of telling. Not that common, but not insanely rare either, and nothing to worry about

Scamp - welcome back! Don't worry about the cake - tis virtual, so neverending Besides, if you're gonna break one lent thingy, you may as well eat an entire cake too!! The real cake is sitting pristine in the kitchen, I have amazing willpower not to have some before dh gets home

Back again just had to get car from garage, thankfully dad working from home and ran us down there so didnt have to do the 6 mile walk with kids in tow shame about the £370 bill when I got there though, and the other one in on Thurs - bloody MOT's

Wheres scorpio gone, hope shes ok

Sagitta, yes for my sins a physio I am. Ideal sitting position, feet firmly on floor, thighs fully supported, ankles, knees and hips at 90 degrees, back rest should come up to shoulders with some support into your lower back - if none roll a towel and place into the small of your back instead. If using PC forearms should be fully supported on desk (again if cant take pillow into work with you to rest arms onto) and screen should be straight infront and at an angle you can see without straining eyes or having to tip head. Ideally get up and move around every 30 mins - the human boday not designed to sit at the best of times let alone when ligaments are all stretchy. You could also try some gentle stretches when you stand up - slide hand down side of leg left and right then gently lean backwards - helps to reduce some of the stress of sitting. Hmm turned into a bit of an epic, hope of some help.

sagitta · 26/02/2008 16:34

Thanks so much!

Sorry to hear about car...

Denny185 · 26/02/2008 16:36

x posts, Thanks toast.

and yes sitfits are great if you have a budget for one sagitta - keep you moving whilst sitting IYSWIM

Denny185 · 26/02/2008 16:36

Got to go again DC r fighting

sagitta · 26/02/2008 16:39

Luckily, i can't stop moving as I'm fidgeting so much trying to get comfy!

SuzeM · 26/02/2008 16:40

Good to hear from you, Scampmum. Bet you are sick of watching Location, Location, Location!

Happy birthday, ToastAddict.

Peachy, your poor ds, that's terrible.

My fil is coming over to stay next week. He's a nice man, but a bit of a know-it-all. He has already been asking dh whether I am going to breastfeed the baby and to tell me that I should (I know I should but it's nothing to do with him!). He has said he is coming over to give us advice, I hope he is joking.

ToastAddict · 26/02/2008 16:50

Denny - if you search MN for "clicking", there seem to be quite a few ladies who've had this

this is the link from one of them I was thinking of

Suze - good luck with fil! I am getting quite nervous about impending advice from mum and mil - both lovely people with nothing but the best intentions, but I know I won't react well to un-asked-for advice! I'm already getting cross with both of them asking "getting any nearer to coming up with a name?" Why don't they get it that we won't be telling them until she's born, so they can't pass comment if they don't like it??! We have a shortlist but have no intention of sharing it with them!!

OP posts:
SuzeM · 26/02/2008 16:56

I know, I am the same. My SILs are probably going to drive me mad too, I'm not very close to them and one SIL In particular repeats everything, she was laughing about a cousin of theirs who was worried about his baby's nappy rash ... so there is no way I'd go to them for advice. If I have any questions I'd prefer to ask friends or the MN ladies!

Mollyfloss · 26/02/2008 17:09

Ok everyone let's get cracking at that pelvic floor!

Toastaddict: Happy birthday!!! Being 32 isn't that bad Hope you've been having a lovely day.

VS: Your DD was so tiny (well huge actually considering premature) and so cute! I'm thinking a lot about my SIL's friend who is 32 weeks and in hospital with eclampsia. They have her hooked up to a drip and ready to go for a Caesarean just in case.

Masked poster: Could you send on the link again for the hospital bag kits pls?

Welcome back scamp - forget the lent thing. MN is good for you!

Peachy: Hope that situation get's sorted too. I would be livid if I were you!

Scorpio: Where are you? Everything ok?
