What a nightmare, what a thing to have hanging over my head/the imminent arrival etc.

DH's grandad (96) has been taken into hospital and cause of his age they will only make him comfortable and pain free as much as they can, I cant help thinking of the old wives tale

hear of a birth hear of a death or hear of a death hear of a birth,
which ever way round it is.

Is it going to be one of those I give birth and we then hear of his grandad or vice versa

RonnieTinselBaby · 24/12/2004 12:48

Just been to Hospital, & if no show before, I'm going to be induced on Monday.

Nimme · 24/12/2004 15:06

Ronnie - here's crossing fingers and toes for you over the next few days. Chin up.

Good luck to the rest of you waiting

I'm so fed up mosschops I don't care! I am very niggly tonight- bit of a loose stomach and my neighbour (who claims to have "feelings") is saying it will be a xmas babe (mind you she also predicted the date of her death- over a year ago- so maybe she could be wrong). Been having quite strong tightenings all day- regular half hourly.

Xmas day is my birthday so would be a lovely way to remember my 34th! (Maybe not- especially if I go to section!). Babe is now managing to sit in my pelvis and squash my lungs at the same time so I figure there can't be much room left...... Not much room for xmas dinner anyway!

RonnieTinselBaby · 25/12/2004 22:11

Well I'm still here, I've been having bearing downs for 2 weeks, and they are stronger this week, but still nothing.

3/5th is what baby is, but still not engaged, I told the Hosp that I was getting bearing down and cronic back ache, and they said well it has the signs of it but not strong enough or actual contractions so they cant do anything, I refused a sweep & V.Exam in case it bought baby on today, didnt want to miss DS's xmas day.

So fingers crossed tomw naturally otherwise it's hosp and inducement

Good luck everyone else.

hana · 26/12/2004 12:49

Happy New Year to you all. I've got to go and feed a baby so I may be gone for some time ......

Anoyone heard from Hana?

Canadianmom · 30/12/2004 20:09

Sorry to intrude. Bunny, do you have any inside info about Hana or are you just asking?

Jimjams · 31/12/2004 11:07

mosschops- me too- third day of contractions and pains and bugger all else (midwife said its very common in 3rd pregnancies and can continue for a week or so- but did then say that labour is usually quick once established). If things don't hurry up I am going to have to ressort to sex. oh no!

Jimjams · 31/12/2004 11:09

oh and I did end up in hospital on xmas day (best bit of the day). Unfortunately ds1 - who has been lovely the rest of the holiday- had a very very autistic day and my blood pressure rocketed! (170/123 when my mother took it!) Had a relaxing few hours watching TV, drinking tea whilst it dropped then they let me out.
