Thought I would take the plunge as I seem to have killed the previous thread . Will put a link on the old thread so you know where to come!

Who wants to lend me their PFB for pram shopping? it will (probably) be returned (nearly) intact!

DebitheScot · 15/02/2008 13:23

I also loved having the car seat that went straight onto the pram so you could easily get ds from car to pram without waking. Oh and the base for the car seat was the best £30 ever spent as it was great not having to fiddle with the seat belt every time.

The car seat issue is worth thinking about too as they are pushing £100 if you have to buy one seperatly. Mind you there are some that do birth - 4 years (but obviously can't go on a buggy) which is a bit more economical. Oh and check which car seats fit your car. We had a problem with that when we went to get the one from about 9 months to 4 years, only 1 would fit and it happened to be one we could have used from birth anyway.

DebitheScot · 15/02/2008 13:25

me me me, you can have mine. How long do you need him for? A week? A month?

I really need to make my posts more succinct/sussinct/sucsinct/brief. I don't half blether on sometimes!

hopefully · 15/02/2008 13:33

just giggled at my desk thanks to you debbithescot. Maybe I could take a range of PFBs of various sizes to try pushing around the pram shop? I'd probably return the wrong children to the wrong mothers.

The car seat thing is just a whole other world of things to think about! It's ridiculous. Maybe if I get one of those travel system things I can persuade dp's mother to buy the car seat too...

Im not having a good day today. This nausea is starting to really get me down .
Nothing helps and its there constantly. I have gone from being an outgoing, fun person to one who cant even go out and is very irritable. Everytime I move, talk, smell, bend down I go thru a horrible gagging, retching ritual that I have no control over. I am able to do something small like empty dishwaher then I have to sit down for like an hour before I can do another task. I had no idea it was going to be like this and I am only 9+ a couple. So sorry for the rant but typing is the only thing that I can do. When do we bloom again?

expatmom2be · 15/02/2008 15:28

ooh, prams. I'm also stalking them every time I walk the dog in the park, but am not letting myself do any proper comparison shopping yet. Am really in love with the Bugaboo chameleon from afar, though and am contemplating having smuggling one in from the States when I'm there later this spring to cut the price a bit and not feel so extravagant.

PrePG - LOL on your DH not appreciating the Bloke's Guide book; since my DH and I have been on separate sides of the world for work for the last 6 weeks (and next month), I also got him an expectant father type book and the Pregnancy Bible book I have so we could look at the same info. He hasn't even looked at the former and in the latter, has only read the sections on sex during pregancy (please god let me meet his expectations of massive sex drive in the second trimester....) and on all the things that can go wrong with the baby. I find it really annoying as I read everything I can get my hands on multiple times!

He flew in last night for a few days (first time we've seen each other since we found out) and we're going away for the weekend. I can't wait for our clean, luxurious, room-serviced suite, he's I'm sure looking for lots of romantic action (yuk, yuk, yuk!).

Welcom Clareo and hope everyone else is feeling decent today. I'm finding that my absolute tonic and growing obsession is anything really lemony - still or sparkling lemonade and especially san pelligrino Limonata. Yum!

What a long post....

You ladies are obviously thinking ahead sorting out prams already.. We've not got much room... eek! Can't help remembering when my mum used to push my sister around in a grand old white and burgundy pram with silver writing on it and then she went into a white and green stripey deck chair affair. Life was simpler then I guess...As for the nausea, I might have been worried I wasn't feeling sick earlier but I'm making up for it now! This makes me strangely happy...

nauseous · 15/02/2008 15:53

On another note - is anyone dreading telling work they're preggers???

hopefully · 15/02/2008 16:28

I'm kind of dreading it, as have another team member going on mat leave in a month or two, and kind of looking forward to it, so they have some sympathy for my patheticness!

potxola · 15/02/2008 16:52

Hi girls.
StarlightMckenzie recommended me this thread. I am 40, 10 weeks pregnant, due 13 Sept. My situation at the moment is that I don't feel pregnant anymore and because I had 2 mc before my son I am getting a bit anxious. My scan is in 2.5 weeks. I have a huge cold that is lasting days and maybe that is why I feel like this.
Anyways I am glad I am in this thread now.
Hope you are all ok.
All the best

meglet · 15/02/2008 16:55

naseous as i have such a big mouth all my collegues (in both my jobs)knew when I was 7 weeks pg. They are a good bunch though and I decided that if anything goes wrong this time I wouldn't be able to keep it to myself.

Got scan dates though today, 4th March and 30th April and consultant on 12th May (me "hello please can I have a c-section after the disaster last time?" )

Oh I've already fallen in love with the M&P 8 in 1 thing, love it love it love it, although not actually seen one in the flesh yet, 11 weeks pg seems a little early.

Excitable · 15/02/2008 17:34

sunshinemummy it must be really hard to stop worrying, but I'm glad your bleeding stopped. After I've been made really ill by my baby, it's often followed by a period of intense emotion, which would not help your worrying. I hope your lo is fine and I'm sure it is.

ninja you are soooo not the only one with a tip of a house - really, there are more important things. You can clean up on a good day. Not much time for your unsympathetic DH I'm afraid - what part of feeling sick is unpleasant does he not understand? Please puke in his shoes - I think that's a fab idea!

Starlight that drug you have to dissolve sounds horrible! Hooray for getting signed off work - it does take some pressure off!

mamamufin · 15/02/2008 17:41

LeonieD Ive been having the twins feeling too [blush}. A- I am suffering with ms far worst than with my ds. B- I have a massive swollen abdo (it looks about 5 months from last time), and its hard. Bowels regular, so no probs there and C- I cant explain it just a feeling inside. Is your 'twins' feeling similar at all?

lollipopmother · 15/02/2008 17:46

Mamamuffin are you actually being sick, or just feeling it all the time?

mamamufin · 15/02/2008 17:54

I am properly sick at least twice a day. Feel nauseous all the time and do alot of heaving also. (sorry, guys).

mamamufin · 15/02/2008 18:12

Woooooow leo. Thats really amazing. When do you have your scan? I really dont compare at all. I look at my belly and think 'alien', I wonder what that means? Have you any family history of twins? I am very curious now...........

lollipopmother · 15/02/2008 18:28

mamamuffin - I was nausious every minute of every day for a good month, possibly closer to two but then all of a sudden it went off to be replaced by no feeling of nausea and throwing up at least once a day, normally in the evening. I gag at everything and regularly my stomach feels like it's been turned inside out with such strenuous activity, but to be honest I prefer being sick than just feeling it, that I couldn't cope with at all where as I feel the being sick is just such a relief. How long has the sickness been going on for, are you able to keep anything in at all, and have you been to the Dr about it (sorry for so many questions but this thread is so long and I only came in a couple of pages ago).
