really sorry to hear that dizzy. i can't believe easyjet won't give you a refund.

poppysocks · 15/01/2008 20:26

Sorry to hear about your traumatic day DD. Glad the EPU were able to fit you in so quickly and were able to reassure you.

Still no news on a scan date here so enquired with a private clinic today.

I put on weight really slowly last time - had just about managed a stone at 30 weeks. Then over the course of the next 6 weeks I put on another 3 stone! . This time I'm starting fast... Haven't weighed myself but know it must be a good half stone or so and there's a definite bump. Just hope the weight gain is all coming now and will slow down later. Otherwise I'm in real trouble...

ChaCha · 15/01/2008 20:26

DD - Sounds like baby is doing just fine, how reassuring to see little heartbeat, great news! Am so sorry to hear about your gran, i must have missed that post, sending you big hugs [HUG] and hoping that you will be okay.
xxx

dizzydixies · 15/01/2008 20:44

thank you all, am still bleeding but taking heart from so many reassurances!
have since had to tell MIL am pregnant so she won't think am complete ignorant cow for not going to funeral and also my aunt as she was coming up to stay with girls while we were away. Dh is still going as aunt is still going to come up to give me a hand with girls so am not doing too much.
so much for the lovely birth announcement lol

JoanWilder · 15/01/2008 20:56

hey y'all

I have a massive bump all of a sudden...at work they cant believe it! It aches, too.
And my hips ache already after Ive been working...hg fading away thank the lord, had beef burgers in buns for tea and a chocolate mousse!! Have a healthy fruit salad for later though...

CaptainCaveman · 15/01/2008 21:05

((((dizzy)))) how scary for you - great news though that you saw the heartbeat!! My friend bled up til 20 weeks - every time her period was due she would bleed. Her ds3 is now 8 mo and fine! Put your feet up (ha ha ha, easier said than done with 2 lo's?)

Took ds to the pantomime this afternoon - bless him he was really good despite it being VERRRRYYYY long.

Tiredness is crippling me today - i was woken up by dh and ds at 7am and haven't recovered since. Thank the Lord I'm on holiday this week and next!

Got my booking appt with midwife tomorrow at 2pm . I just can't believe how horribly spotty I am. I look like a freak!

We told ds that I was pg at Christmas. He wants a brother and has chosen names for both boys and girls -
Mr Truck for a boy
Mr Babysweetheart for a girl

TS we are going to Newport Ritchie (sp?) for a week then Orlando for a week. Mum and Dad have a time share in Orlando so we pretty much get that free!! Despite the fact i can't go on the rides this time, I'm really excited for ds!

Captain I've been North and South of Newport Richey but never in Newport Richey. Love that coast best though. Beaches are so much better, white, all together nicer than the East Coast of Florida. We'll be heading to Orland in March of 2009 for DD 5th birthday. Let me know how your DS fairs. My nieces and nephew went last year (6,4,3) and had a blast. You know you can create your own customized maps for the parks at this link. Planning is the key because there's so much fun to be had.

alittlebitshy · 15/01/2008 22:12

heading to bed now (yawm) but wanted to say how much i feel for you dizzydixies.
Hope the bleeding tails off but v good that it'ss all you and not baby. I was scared enough with my few wipes worth of blood so i can only try to imagine how you felt today.

Cool names CaptainCaveman. Lol.

night everyone, and if anyone sees LOW around let us know. Thinking about her.

LadyOfWaffle · 15/01/2008 22:15

Evening! Just updated my thread, everything is OK - just a cyst and scar tissue but had a scan and saw the heartbeat, dates still bang on etc. Hope everyone is well, I'll have a scroll down now and have a read xx

CaptainCaveman · 16/01/2008 10:08

Good morning ladies - i am very excited as I have my booking appt today. Not sure why I'm excited - it's not like they do anything special .

To add to the spotty face I now have the beginnings of a cold sore. Great. Spots AND syphillis. Pretty lady. Off to put cold-sore cream on and get back to studying.

The weather is sunny! Hooray, no rain atm.

hope you are all doing ok? x

TwilightSurfer · 16/01/2008 11:04

Captain good luck at your appointment.

LadyOfWaffle glad to hear all's well with you.

I'm up early again this morning as I forgot to bath before bed and have to be in public for a while during DD's preschool time. I have just finished the most delightful breakfast with muffins, bacon and pineapple/orange juice. PLEASE STAY DOWN!! I hope everyone has a lovely morning with only the slightest of symptoms.

PennyBenjamin · 16/01/2008 11:48

Morning all,

Haven't been on for a while, as have mostly been sitting at my desk heavy breathing trying to quell the nausea! Eurgh. Feeling a bit better today, which is good news as have my booking in appointment this evening, and the last thing I want is to vomit all over the room!

CC - I have cold sores as well! Really horrible, especially as it means I have to stay away from DH as I don't want him to get one. Actually, I looked in the mirror this morning and hardly recognised this grey-skinned, spotty, pox ridden face. I look truly terrible, even after a few layers of make up - poor DH!

CaptainCaveman · 16/01/2008 12:07

heehee PB - am glad I'm not the only one looking like 'night of the living dead'. I might yet take to wearing a balaclava....

Good luck for your appt too PB! Mine is at 2pm.

morning.
good luck for the booking in appts ladies.

I'm still waiting to hear about mine. Gp was meant to refer me, but didn;t have corerct form as i'm requesting a different hospital to the one they normally send you to so she asked reception to pass one to her with my name on..... fast fwd a month, i called up the antenatal unit at hosp last week to ask when i'd hear, and they didn;t have any rcord of me. Grr. called gp, left message, so have to hope it's been dealt with now and that i do get seen soon seeing as I am almost 12 weeks, esp as i've had my scary moment last week. got to take dd to dr tomorrow so will ask (in coded lingo so dd not suss lol) if she's now filled in my form. grr grr.

feeling as nauseous as ever. was sick last night. hadn;t been sick for about 2 weeks, had maanged to stick with nausea. gr.

cooking some plain pasta with sweetcorn and kidney beans right now cos i kind of fancy that.... will have it naked though (pasta not self ,natch, lol) cos can't fancy any sauces. urgh.

dizzydixies · 16/01/2008 14:00

morning girls

good luck with all the booking in apts.
bleeding has slowed if not entirely tailed off so fingers crossed. Managed to sleep so thats also a bonus, didn't stop me crashing on the couch this morning too though!!

packed dh off to funeral on his own so no doubt he'll end up on a plane to iceland instead of ireland and I'll then have to go and retieve him!!

hope everyone has a good day
x

PennyBenjamin · 16/01/2008 14:04

Hee hee - we once actually went to Iceland (which is a brilliant place to visit, if anyone is interested). We hired a car, and as we set off out of the airport, DH asked me to get the road map out of his bag, which he'd specially been and bought.

I reached into his bag, pulled out the map, and started trying to identify where we actually were, at which point it became clear that instead of buying a map of Iceland, he'd actually bought a map of Ireland!

How we laughed, until we got totally lost in the frozen wastes.

PetitFilou1 · 16/01/2008 14:22

DD Just want to reassure you that there can be positive stories about bleeding in pregnancy. I had two heavy bleeds of bright red blood with ds (first baby) and he hung on in there and came out fine. Didn't have the same problem with dd but my mum later told me she had the same thing happen when she was pregnant with me and one of my sisters. Good luck.

I have my booking appointment on 23rd. Everything goes so SLOWLY at this stage doesn't it.....

IlanaK · 16/01/2008 14:30

Another one here whose GP seems to have failed to refer them. Grrr. Just called antenatal clinic to find out why I have heard nothing (am 11.5 now) and they have no record. Gp is closed today so they can't sort it out until tomorow. They have no appointments left now and will need to make me one specially in ultra sound rather than the normal antenatal scan. Typical.

alittlebitshy · 16/01/2008 14:33

At least my dr isn't the only one. grrrrr.
So frustrating isn't it????????
I normally HATE making calls but am so glad I called the hosp to find you what was happening cos otherwise I'd have just assumed they do things differently (I had my dd elsewhere and had fabbo care!)and naively waited....

ChaCha · 16/01/2008 15:30

LOL at map of Ireland classic!!

I missed my booking appt as was too ill to get my backside down to the surgery. The next date they could give me was 31 January AFTER my 12 week scan, that's why we booked private scan - reassurance.
CC - Hope all well at Booking Appt - it's the blood tests i hate, am always sent to the hospital - hate it! At least my blue notes were popped through the door, they wanted me to go to scan without them and said don't worry if they 'hee and haw' about them and make a fuss. Thought i don't need that stress and asked politely for them to be sent through door empty or not

What have you all been eating?

Have been nibbling on a stuffed pepper every so often, vine leaves, poppadoms and hummus (LOL), and major craving for grapefruit. Grapefruit never tasted so good!!!

10+3

PennyBenjamin · 16/01/2008 15:57

ChaCha - was reading the other day that eating a Mediterranean diet can help prevent allergies in your baby - so it looks like you're eating exactly the right things!

My diet is being propped up by marmite on toast, yoghurt and grapefruit juice at the moment. Hmmm....

alittlebitshy · 16/01/2008 15:59

my diet for the last few days has been toast and fish finger sandwiches.

but after i was sick last night i've gone off it all so argh!!!

Normally the stuffed pepper idea would sound yummy, but today i just think, ugh, how could you ?lol!!

gigglegirl · 16/01/2008 16:14

hi ladies,
