Just popping in to say hello and see how you guys are doing. I was on this thread when it first started but had to drop out early on . We're starting to try again though so very excited!

Hi Cab, sounds like things are going well!

Good luck everyone!

logICICLE · 16/12/2004 12:20

Hi Tex111, thanks for visiting! I remember that we were both on ttc#10... Sorry about your bad news but good luck with trying again. Sending babydust your way!

logICICLE · 16/12/2004 12:23

Is anyone else feeling frightened about their scans? During my last pregnancy, even though it followed a m/c, I was always incredibly excited about the scans and not at all worried about finding abnormalities. This time though, I am having horrible dreams and worries about it all which is very depressing...

Brighteyes · 16/12/2004 18:17

Hi Tex. Best wishes to you.

Logic I'm feeling very apprehensive about my scan too. Dp is really excitied but all I keep thinking about is the real reason for the scan is to detect problems. Well at least we've only got a couple of days of waiting left. Couple of sleepless nights to get through in the meantime.

The thing is, I have a real reason to be worried about the scan. Before I knew I was pg, I wasn't sleeping so my GP prescribed me addictive sleeping tablets. I had to do a test to be sure that I wasn't pg then take them for 2 weeks. The test was a BFN so I happily took the tablets which did nothing but after the 2 weeks, I did another test on a whim and it was a BFP! I had been pg the first time but it was too early to show. The GP said that the tablets weren't listed as a bad risk but it was down to luck basically Everything looked ok on the first scan but they didn't do any detailed checks...

I am still totally off my food too, myermay. Iwas heaving just looking at the shopping list the other day! Hasn't stopped me from eating the Christmas sweeties though. Better buy some more tomorrow

cab · 17/12/2004 08:59

TEX!!!! Sorry I missed your message. Great news that you're going for it again. Hope Santa and the stork get together on this one.

Fisil congratulations on your wee boy - hope things are looking up a bit now.

Logic the placenta isn't well attached early-on in pregnancy so highly unlikely the sleeping pills would have an effect - try not to worry . Best of luck with the scan. Mine's today.
Hello everyone else.

Hi Tex, good luck.
Fisil, so exciting that you know you're having a boy, I'm hoping to find out at my next scan .
I haven't been too moody, just keep getting fed up, as no sooner do I start to feel ok, than I then start to feel rough again. Had horrible morning sickness, dizziness and shakes etc again on Monday as we were flying up to Edinburgh with family to do some shopping, so thought I was over the sickness, which I never had too badly, but it hit me hard again, I think the baby didn't like me getting up so early - 5am, came back Tuesday and had a couple of days off work, I think I just overdid it, it is hard to take it easy sometimes isn't it, especially with all the preparations for Christmas. I do have mood swings, sometimes I'm so fed up with being pregnant it really gets me down, other times, I feel really special, and I'm sure I can feel the baby move now, which I find really exciting. It's like being on a rollercoaster!

Brighteyes · 17/12/2004 20:28

Myermay you're not alone with the mood swings. During the first few months I became really violent, I was having really bad temper tantrums and throwing anything I could lay my hands on. The violent tantrums have now settled down but now I got to the stage that everything stresses me out and makes me cry. I've constantly got blood shot eyes

Yeah Myermay, my dp is suffering the most from my hormones. He's been really patient with me though thank goodness. My work colleagures have suffered from my outbursts too. Everyone realises its due to the pregnancy though, but god help anyone who utters those dreaded words "oohh its her hormones again" aaggghhh.

fisilhohoho · 20/12/2004 12:04

Hi all. Glad everyone is indulging in all the chocs & mince pies! Hope we've all timed it just right with the ms & heartburn!

I guess you could describe what I have as moodswings too, and lots and lots of grumpiness. I'm holiday for the next two weeks and so feeling more relaxed. Plus I have so far today run around without stopping from 7:15 until midday - and all the jobs I've done I would normally do in a working week, so I'm beginning to realise why I've been so tired and grumpy!

THEnorthstar · 21/12/2004 09:19

Hi everyone, just popped in to say hello and catch up with all your news, great to hear all the little ones are starting to kick and wriggle until it happens at 4am.That must be disco time in my tummy.
No playschool for 3 weeks - AAAAAGH!
Put most of my non-pregnant trousers away for a while during the week and now have a bare wardrobe. How are you all growing?

logICICLE · 21/12/2004 09:39

I am now into my maternity jeans and I have started feeling the baby doing non-kicking movements. Has anyone else started having giving-birth dreams? I had this last time too around the halfway stage and it's freaking me out. I think it must be to help you get used to the idea of being a mother...

maymum · 21/12/2004 15:58

I have been feeling what I though was baby for 2 weeks (since 16w0d) but last night I was 100% sure! I hadn't been convinced until then, because everyone says it feels like butterflies, but this feels more like little pokes/touches, 1 or 2 at a time, not at all like butterflies. Well... last night, the pokes happened a few times, so I put my hand were they were and I felt it from the outside - about 5 separate pokes. WOW!!!!! I shouted to DH to come quick - he thought it was some kind of emergency, so he laughed when I made him put his hand on my belly! Typically baby stopped moving and didn't do it again until DH had gone - he waited about half an hour!!!! Now I'm even more in love with this baby than ever! I feel like it's all a dream... I'm finally loving being pregnant too - I never thought that would happen! I haven't had any bad dreams at all yet, and baby hasn't woken me up in the night kicking yet - I'll make the most of restful nights while I can!

I'm completely into maternity trousers now (since thursday) - it has made me realise that although I always complain about not having any clothes to wear, I have been quite lucky - being down to 2 pairs of trousers that fit is much more limiting!

I hope you are all well and starting to get into the Christmas spirit!

Hi all, Myermay, I was sick last week, but generally have been feeling better than I did before. I've felt the baby a few times, wasn't sure if that's what it was, until the weekend when I sat down wearing normal jeans and suddenly felt lots of movement, think I may have squashed it a bit, so definitely out of normal jeans and only in maternity trousers, jogging trousers and stretchy skirts, have felt a few more movements since, its very exciting. I haven't had birth dreams but seem to be having lots of vivid dreams, had a nightmare about drowning the other night (while pregnant)and woke up with my heart racing and rapid breathing - was a bit shaken. Busy seeing lots of family over Christmas, dp and I both have divorced parents - so four lots of parents to see and friends and other relatives, should be fun though, hoping to get a couple of days to ourselves to relax too though. Hoping to eat lots but still don't seem to have a huge appetite and can't eat much in one go, may have to have Christmas lunch in two sittings! Hope you all have a good Christmas and New Year, I'll be back in January.

cab · 22/12/2004 12:21

Just a wee note to wish everyone a very merry Christmas as I'm sure some of you will just be using office computers. Enjoy the break.

fashill · 22/12/2004 15:23

Starting to burst out of my clothes now! Can anyone recommend where I can get some nice trendy trousers/jeans/skirts?!? What I've seen hasn't really been me!! I'm 25 and my first pregnancy so everything is new

Brighteyes · 22/12/2004 17:13

Had my scan today. All very exciting, but the scan photos are really poor because the baby wouldn't keep still. Apparently everything looks fine, even though it took almost an hour to do my scan with me lying in all different position because they had trouble getting all the measurements. Such a weight off my shoulders now that the scan is over. How did yours go Logic?

Brighteyes · 22/12/2004 17:16

sorry forgot to say welcome to Fashill. Have you tried topshops maternity range Fashill? Some of their stuff is really nice and fashionable.
I'm also 25 and its my first pregnancy, determined not to look too frumpy while pg.

fashill · 22/12/2004 17:26

Thanks Brighteyes! I'm gonna go to Oxford Circus tomorrow (if I think I can handle the crowds!) and have a look as I though that might be a good place and not too expensive!! Got some nice work tops from H & M but couldn't find any nice bottoms.

Did you find out the sex?? I've got mine on Jan 12th and can't wait to see what I'm having!!

logICICLE · 22/12/2004 18:58

Hello fashill...

Glad your scan went well, Brighteyes
Mine was great too. The baby is fine and...it's a girl!!! We are in shock because we assumed that it was a boy. She wasn't 100% sure though so we are not going to buy any pink stuff just yet. We celebrated by going to see Bridget Jones 2 which is very funny.
