Hi Rosie, I forget the exact number of sessions, but it was somewhere around 6 sessions over 3-4 months.

LittleB, you can change your name from the 'Your member profile' link at the top. You need to log in first...

Thanks Logic, feel much more Christmassy nowGrin!

Uwila · 09/12/2004 14:07

Has everyone on here had their bookin in appointments. Mine is next week, and I am certain I must be last. I'm not due until 29 May, so I will be 16 weeks next week when I have the appointment.

Also, is anyone else hoping for an elective caesarean? I had an emergency caesarean with dd, and I'd really like to have a planned one this time.

Anyone else giving birth at Queen Charlotte? ANother London Hospital?

Wouldn't it be funny if some of us meet in the hospital... under our real names. Smile

logICICLE · 09/12/2004 14:45

Your booking in appt. really is late, Uwila! Are you going to have the AFP at the same time? I am starting to get excited about my scan - 13 days to go...I will try and book the birthing pool at the same time.

Is it me or do people shove you about more when you're pregnant. We went shopping yesterday and I was furious towards the end. People kept trying to walk through me. Maybe I'm being oversensitive and paranoid but I noticed this during the last pregnancy...and no-one ever offered me a seat on a bus Angry

Uwila · 09/12/2004 14:53

I think it's so late partly because I had to put up a stink about not going to the hospital in whose catchment I live. The next two tries (Kingston and Wes Mid) both declined to take me. So then we tried for Queen Charlotte and they took me. So, by the time all of that got sorted it was rather late to be starting the process. But, I have had a nuchal scan (two actually) so I'm not bothered because I'm reassured by the nuchals that all is well and normal. Placenta is up high. Only one baby. Very low risk of defects.

I'm hoping to combine booking in with the 16 week blood tests. The hospital is pretty far from where I live, so it would be convenient to get to do all of this in one stop.

Tinker · 09/12/2004 15:15

I didn't have my booking in appointment until 16 weeks either. That was at home and then had blood samples taken the next day, results back last week.

fisilhohoho · 09/12/2004 15:53

You got results back from your blood test? Wow!

I have my 21 week scan next Tuesday, which I am really really nervous about. I must have had over 10 scans between my pgs, and 90% have been fine. But there was the one when they said "There's nothing there" and that must've been the worst moment of my life (it was a routine scan, I was not expecting bad news), and since then every scan has filled me with dread. Last scan I actually had to have an EPU scan 24 hours before cos I was so desperate waiting!

Still, I've just had chocolate, and the little angel is now having a party in there, so I guess everything's OK!

I know what you mean about people shoving, logic. I think it's a matter of us being sensitive too. One of my jobs is to clear the corridors (in a building built for primary school kids) of hulking great big adolescents who do not want to go to their lessons. I am sure that the kids are shoving into me more than usual, and that their behaviour is worse than usual. My colleagues are being very supportive (in a "bless, she's going a bit overboard on this one, but humour her, she's pg" kind of way!)

Tinker · 09/12/2004 16:17

Oh how horrible fisil. That's your worst fear isn't it that your hopeful smile will be just wiped off your face like that.

Midwife seemed to be stressing that I may get back poor results due to my age and to be prepared for that. I just said to go ahead and I'd bear in mind anything was skewed by being 40. As soon as I came out of surgery I started wondering why I'd done it and was exepecting to be phoned at home within next few days to be advised to have an amnio. Anyway, all seems ok, no comments on results.

fashill · 09/12/2004 16:37

Hi Uwila

I'm due on the 27th May and had my booking appt on Tues so it doesn't seem too late. Although it is my first so I don't really know what to expect!!

Almost fainted at the bloods though and have two very bruised arms!! Great to hear the heartbeat though even though it was rushed as my hospital is so busy

THEnorthstar · 10/12/2004 10:35

Had my scan yesterday, it was lovelyGrinand baba kept opening and closing its mouth (like its mummy) It kept its gender secret thoughSad
I have a rotten cold so im going to bed for an hour before collecting ds from playschool, have a good weekend everyone - not too much christmas shopping.

fisilhohoho · 10/12/2004 12:21

northstar, sounds lovely. I assume that its coyness means that it will be a very sensible and well behaved teenager - won't go around flaunting his/herself!

THEnorthstar · 10/12/2004 15:33

Em...fisil, if my teenage years are anything to go by he/she will NOT be well behaved and sensibleWink My mum thinks i deserve lovely children who mutate into horrendous teenagers for a few years, but I've told her that if they do they can go and live with her Grin

Uwila · 10/12/2004 17:24

Um... don't they all mutate into horrendous teenagers? My mother says that grandchildren are her reward for having had children. (meaning that she takes great pleasure in watching them do to us what we did to her). A truly evil sense of humour.

Brighteyes · 10/12/2004 18:42

Had an appointment with the midwife today to check the babies heartbeat. Was rather nerve racking, took her ages to find the heartbeat and she even started to look worried. Thankfully she found it after what seemed like an eternity.
Wasn't to worried though since I started feeling the baby wiggling around since Wednesday. Have come to the conclusion he/she either loves or hates the bath because it go nuts when I'm in there Grin

fisilhohoho · 12/12/2004 18:46

How's everyone doing? We put up the Xmas decs this afternoon - felt really significant putting up 3 stockings, next year hopefully it'll be 4! Scan on Tuesday - lots of us have scans in the next couple of weeks, don't we?

Blu · 13/12/2004 11:38

Just popping in to say if you see Quegg back on this thread, can you tell her that there are loads of replies about talipes on her 'feeling low' thread. Thanks.

fisilhohoho · 14/12/2004 15:53

Where is everyone? Hope everyone is well and just hetcic with the Xmas rush!

I had my 20 week scan today - all seems to be fine and it's a boy, which I am very happy about. Really not sure I'd know what to do with a girl!

Feeling really down - rang my hv yesterday (on MN advice!) and have a GP appointment & visit from my hv tomorrow. I am really hating being pg

puddytats · 14/12/2004 16:00

Hi there, hope you don't mind me intruding. Am due on 14th May and Ds has just turned a year so will only have 18 months between them! Am suffering from really bad Sciatica(?) already so feeling a little down.

Have some physo booked for 23rd Dec and in meantime Doctor has perscribed co-dydramol but am not keen on taking medication unless I have to. Was hoping someone might have some tips on how to relieve it?

logICICLE · 14/12/2004 16:21

Hi fisil, that's wonderful news
I'm glad that you are getting support from your GP and HV...I have got much more energy now but I'm still grumpy as anything.

Hello puddytats, welcome to the thread! I don't have sciatica but I do suffer from a lot of back pain. I have seen an NHS physio who didn't do anything to relieve the pain as such but just said that I have to do a lot of pelvic floor exercises. I have also been to see a private massage and McTimoney practitioner who has been fantastic. She has completely sorted out my back pain and cut down the migraines a lot too. Maybe it's worth finding someone local to you and asking them?

puddytats · 14/12/2004 16:39

Cheers, will ask around for some recommendations. Am willing to try anything at the moment!

THEnorthstar · 14/12/2004 17:48

Oh fisil, congrats on expecting another wonderful baby BOY! Thats great, i love boys so much
Sorry your pg is treating you badly, but....... we are almost half way, that has to be good.
Its gone really quiet here, I havent been around much and thought i was missing lots but it seems everyone is busy with xmas stuff. I tried on a few dresses and skirts today and they all made me look like a buffalo I will stick to wearing my trousers, i am not a neat petite bump kind of girl but an all round fat one!

Congrats on the scan Fisil. Really sorry to hear you're feeling down, hope things get better for you soon.
I was feeling so depressed at the beginning of the pg with the morning sickness and exhaustion. Now I'm feeling great, love feeling the baby wiggiling around and my bump is growing at an unbelivable rate. Everyone keeps telling me off for doing to much. I'm working really hard and rushing round like a lunatic for christmas. My house is shinning like a new pin from all my cleaning, spent hours on the weekend doing all those jobs round the house I never seem to get round to doing it. My energy levels have totally rocketed but when I do stop and sit down for five mins it really catches up with me and I feel tired. Just planning to make the most of the energy levels while they last, cant imagine it being to long before I'm to big to heave myself from the sofa
Hope to hear from everyone soon, it's so quite on here.

logICICLE · 15/12/2004 13:53

I'm really envious, Brighteyes My house is a complete tip, mostly because I don't get a chance to clean except on a Wednesday. Ds is petrified of the hoover so I have to wait until he is out of the house! This trimester is really nice though, bags of energy and no huge bump to carry around. I have my scan a week today!

Does anyone else think that the adverts on here are getting out of hand? I can turn off the externally hosted ones but I still have to scroll down a whole page to get to the first post...
