How are you now littleb?
Thanx for the sympathy maymum, the only good thing is that now everyone knows and therefore i dont have to run and hide it from ds to stop him telling everyone mummy sick in sink AGAIN!

quegg · 03/12/2004 21:08

littleb

i am pg with no 3 and have suffered with low bp in each pregnancy. My std BP is about 90/50 going up to 100/60 or 70 later in pg. This is a pai, i know: have you tried drinking lots of preferable water? i found that this helped. I tenede to think that i was drinking loads, but remember your circulating blood volume increases hugely when you are PG and if you have low BP you need to help it: and coffee, coke etc will not really help as you pee it all away!

The good thing is that you are unlikely to have high BP later on in pg which is a good thing.

I worked until 36 weeks with no 1 and 35 with no 2: i am 30 weeks now and shattered but that has more to do with 2 little ones and the fact that i am older!

Don't forget though that you are allowed to slow down: in my first pregnancy i thought thta i had to prove how great i was: i was very well, but there is nothing wrong with taking the pace down even by a notch or two: you will have plenty of time to be superwoman when baby arrives!

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd check in since I haven't posted in a while. I'm feeling quite well these days (touch wood!). No migraines or nausea this week. My only ailments now are and ever expanding arse and belly.

Still haven't had my booking in appointment. It's on 15 December, so not too much longer to go. I STILL haven't told my boss. But, think I'll break the news to him this week as I really do look pregnant.

Well, I think we are off to London today to find Santa Claus for DD (hope she likes him better this year than she did last year -- when she screamed in horror).

Thanks for the advice everyone, thats really useful to know quegg. I have been feeling ok over the weekend, no more dizzy spells, but I'm seeing a stand in midwife on Wednesday to discuss it all and do a blood test.
Anyone have a date for their second scan yet, when we might know the sex, if we want to. Mines on the 30th December which is great as dp is off so won't need to take time out of work for it. can't wait to see how its grown! Grin

Tinker · 06/12/2004 13:02

Mine's Christmas Eve!

cab · 06/12/2004 13:13

Northstar - I have a very difinite bump now and only ONE pair of trousers that fit!!
LittleB on the low bloodpressure front the only advice I've had is to eat a little often and drink plenty. Must admit hasn't stopped me being incredibly tired. Also had a cracker of a sore head for over a week - but that's probably related more to the cold than bp - think sore heads more assoc. with high bp??
Hope everyone else doing fine - got my 20 week scan next week - just a bit before 20 weeks like.

THEnorthstar · 06/12/2004 13:17

Uwila your booking in date is my birthday 15/12. Mine is this Thurs 9/12 i am so excited but apprehensive of course as i have had no tests atall yet - all the usual feelings of omg what if its not right.
Is good we are all almost over the 1st trimester symptoms - although my friend was on the phone this morning telling me about her babys cold and how she was coughing and went into great detail enough to make me run to the sink AGAIN.

logICICLE · 06/12/2004 15:27

hi girls,

My 20 week scan is on the 22nd. Can't believe that I am nearly half way through already and only put on about 4 lbs according to my scales! Just watch me put on 20 lbs in the next fortnight Grin
I am definately going to ask the gender. Spent three hours being pampered in the hairdressers today bliss but again, the hairdresser assumed that I would be hoping for a girl this time 'to have one of each'. I think that I am leaning towards wanting another boy now for some reason - probably because we have chosen a name.

Brighteyes · 06/12/2004 17:02

My scan is the same days as Logic 22nd Dec.

Logic what name have you choosen?

Anyone else decided on names yet?

maymum · 06/12/2004 18:00

My scan is 6th January, but I have another midwife appt this thursday, so at least I'll hear the heartbeat again.

We've decided a boy's name, and I have a girl's name I like, but DH isn't keen.

logICICLE · 06/12/2004 19:54

We have chosen Charles John for a boy - still like Francesca for a girl but my family hates it Sad

Tinker · 06/12/2004 19:56

Can't think of any boys names I like. And am convinced it's a boy.

fisilhohoho · 06/12/2004 21:01

My scan is a week tomorrow - can't wait. We didn't find out the sex last time, but we want to this time. I am planning on being very rude to anyone who tells me it's wonderful to have a girl/a shame it's a boy. I like boys, and I would love to have two! Besides which, I kind of see my body as a bit of a boy-making machine, I'd be a bit shocked if it knew how to make a girl!

I have real tummy troubles. Baby has me craving salad. But I am getting the terrible runs after eating, and then terrible trapped wind and blockage at other times. I don't know whether these are all connected or not. I seem to have to dash to the loo after about 50% of meals (at least once a day). Sorry to be so graphic, but it is also very bloody. Is there anything I can do? I'm giving in to my cravings - salad can't be that bad, surely, but the whole poo business it really quite a pain. Any suggestions?

Uwila · 06/12/2004 21:35

Well, fisil the sex isn't actually up to you. So anyone who doesn't get what they want can blame the father. Smile

Ah names... well, I am the anal retentive planner. Got them both sorted (although dh sways about on likeing/not liking the boy choice. But until he finds another one we both like, I think it will stick)

Girl: Rachel Page Duffy ("Rachel")
Boy: Alexander Robert Rathbun Duffy ("Alex")

Oh gosh, are we supposed to reveal our real names here???? Well, you just don't get a feel for the name choice if you don't get to pair it with the surname. So I just thought what the heck. Hope there aren't any crazy serial killers on this thread!

Brighteyes · 07/12/2004 07:33

Some really nice name choices ladies. Especialy like Alex.

Choosen welsh names for both boy and a girl even though I know it will probably wind up my english in-laws Grin

Evan for a boy and Cerys for a girl.

fisilhohoho · 07/12/2004 07:46

We have a policy not to talk names with anyone until the baby is born - people don't comment on names once it's attached to a person, and we'd rather not hear people's opinions!

Can anyone help me with my tummy problems? Still feeling bad today.

fisilhohoho · 07/12/2004 07:46

Forgot to say - do like the names here, though!

cab · 07/12/2004 08:30

Like the names folks.
Fisil sorry your tummy's not good. Would cut down on the peppers and cucumber to reduce the wind factor - or lie down when it's bad with an arm above your head.
On the runny poos - no idea - but send them this way please - I've got the opposite problem Grin.
Seriously tho' - maybe you should check it out with the doc in case you've got a tummy bug?

rosies · 07/12/2004 09:00

i saw reflexology mentioned so i thought i'd chip in. being a specilaised reflexologist in maternity care, can i just say, that more than one treatment is needed to get real benefit.

in my experience, women who have regular treatments throughout pregnancy, tend to suffer less with pregnancy discomforts, have quicker easier births, and calmer babies.

logICICLE · 07/12/2004 09:23

rosies, I've had two massage treatments now and it has completely sorted my back problems - for now at least. I intend to keep having treatments about once a month. I would love to be able to order a calmer baby this time too Grin

Uwila · 07/12/2004 10:12

Hi Rosie, I believe it was my comment that mentioned that reflexology didn't do anything for my migraines. I soooo did not mean to pan reflexology. It's just that it didn't decrease my migraines. And that is probably because my migraines are related to hormones. Although, refexology is very enjoyable. A nice long foot massage never hurt anyone. Recommend it for anyone who is thinking about it. If nothing else, you will enjoy the foot rub.

LittleB · 07/12/2004 14:32

Hi Fisil, I've had a similar thing to you but mine is down to Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I can't really offer any advice, but have you spoken to your GP or midwife as it might be worth checking it out, especially as there is blood there Sad.
Me and dp like names Jacob Adam for boy and Megan Holly for a girl, but we might change our minds (again!).
I think I may have felt the baby moving this week, I'm not sure as its my first, but there were faint twingey-twitchy feelings, very excited anyway Grin.

logICICLE · 07/12/2004 17:17

All the names mentioned so far are lovely. It's so difficult to choose...

I'm sorry fisil, I don't know what could be causing your bad tummy Sad I would see a doctor - ok, I probably wouldn't because I know from past exp. that my GP is squeamish about that sort of thing, honestly, but that doesn't change the fact.

I have to share with you something incredibly sweet that ds did yesterday and has put my mind at rest over the jealousy issue: he pointed at my tummy and said 'baby!' so I said, 'does the baby get a kiss?' and he moved my t-shirt and kissed my tummy! Awww! Really, it's a big deal - up until now if I mentioned the baby he would try and thump my stomach!

rosies · 09/12/2004 00:03

hi uwila,

its a pity you had no benefit for your migraines. reflexology is a very balancing therapy and can normally sort out hormone imbalances and so aid problems, especially cyclatic ones.

how many treatments did you have and did you have no benefits at all?

rosies · 09/12/2004 00:04

oh and what i did mean to add, is that reflexology is far more than a foot massage and should not be mistaken for one.
