Hi ladies,
As August approaches, I just wanted to check in and wish you all a safe delivery of your little ones.
I’m useless at keeping up to date with the thread and had a lot going on. But thank you to all of you that have provided invaluable advice, guidance and support before I went MIA.
@PurplePansy05 a special thank you to you too for all of the support, especially in the early days and I wish you all the best in meeting your baby boy 💙

I had planned to be productive today and maybe clean something, instead I haven't changed out of pyjamas and I'm chilling on the sofa with the dog 😂

I know, it's a little lift me up just before 😊 I think I just broke my iron btw...I spent a long time ironing and watching Netflix today and now it won't heat up, the light is gone 🙄 A trip to Argos tomorrow I think...or maybe I should just get rid of it and live without one! #lifechanges xx

Just been for my last swim before CS and absolutely fuming!! There was a man swimming next to me who wasn't very aware of anyone else so I kept my distance. But when he turned around he must have moved closer and he caught me twice on his way past - once in the bump with his fucking foot!! Wasn't really hard but enough to freak me out so I left after 4 lengths and cried pathetically while getting out 😂 the poor life guard must have been like wtf! Didn't say anything to dick head as I knew I'd just lose my shit and cry historically but told lifeguard. Phoned the ward to see if I should keep an eye or be checked and she said she's not worried at all but obv to call if anything changes. So annoyed!!!

Congrats to those of you now on maternity leave!

@Daffodil21what an idiot you encountered. Bless you. You're nice you didn't say anything to him. I think I would have not been able to stop myself from saying anything. You will be ok but if you feel like it just get it checked for your peace of mind x

@WolfMother326 yes I have had quite bad swelling and varicose veins in my labia. Have had since 25ish weeks. It’s not nice but apparently is quite normal and not uncommon. Ice packs help some women, as does lying with your pelvis elevated so the blood is encouraged to flow away. Unfortunately neither really worked for me so it’s all just very swollen and veiny!

I think maybe I’m having Braxton Hicks. Lots of tensing in my stomach especially in the evenings. Not sure though - it isn’t painful at all.

I’m so uncomfortable and hot now and my bladder seems to be the size of a pea. But another week of work yet and three more until planned section! Not sure whether to hope it’ll come quicker or not - I absolutely am not prepared for a surprise vaginal birth.

That’s brilliant news @PurplePansy05 ! Well done for handling it so brilliantly and a relief to not have to do it so many times a day.

Had my growth scan today, all okay and baby is now approx 6lb 10oz at 38 weeks! I’m impressed my body has made a baby that big. Obviously will take it with a pinch of salt as I know they can be incorrect like they were with DS. But all still okay for next week.

Ah fab news @Magik01! I bet you're relieved. That's a good size too. My son was estimated bigger than that at 35+6 😳😂 I wish he was like this now instead, I'm 38+1! I am very curious to find out what his birth weight will be IRL, I'll let you all know how close the estimates were. Put your feet up as much as you can now amongst the final prep 😊

Ah @Daffodil21 Some people are so inconsiderate! Terrible. A slight silver lining is that if it happened in the water, the impact on the bump would really have been minimal, I wouldn't worry too much about it

Awww @Daffodil21that’s really annoying. Thankfully the pool I use has kept their extra wide lanes so I’ve been able to avoid anything similar. Think today is my last swim too though. Rolling bump to breath seems to be tweaking a muscle in my rib cage.

I’m so with all those excited about finishing work. 3 more days. Cannot wait.

Picked up our buggy & car seat today.

@WolfMother326 sorry about your GBS. When did you take it by the way. I've got mine at home and thinking of taking the swabs tomorrow just before I hit 37 weeks on Sunday. Is that good timing? Also apparently I read somewhere you can still give birth in birth centre with GBS. The6 can still put you on antibiotics there x

@PurplePansy05 very relived! I’m curious to see why everyone’s babies end up weighing because I’m nosey! And I want to see how accurate everyone’s scans have been! With DS they said he was 5lb and he came out 5lb 12oz so we shall see!!

I hope @Jessicapebbles is okay also, maybe she is having baby cuddles as we speak

Hi ladies!! Sorry I’ve not updated, I’ve created a booby monster and she’s been feeding for hours haha!!
Ebony was born at 15:07 weighing 6lb 2 and is just perfect!!

Earlier on in the car I had shooting pains in my right hand side just under my rib only lasting for a few minutes and haven't had them since but read on google and it says could be preeclampsia symptoms but hoping it was just baby kicking. Since then I've just been thinking about how stressed I am about this birth. I'm so worried now as it's fast approaching the time I gave birth last time and what if no baby. Someone who was predicted the same weight baby as mine was at 36 weeks at 35+3 just gave birth 2 days over her due date to a 9lb 10oz via c section and I'm in tears 😫 talking to my mum about an induction but she was induced with me and doesn't recommend it whatsoever and hers ended in c section. Then goes on to say j could be waiting 4 weeks yet and I'm like yes mum and that could mean a 10 pound baby .... and my worst fear of tearing ... and I also really don't want a big baby 😭

@Magik01 I'm curious about sizes too! I had a growth scan yesterday at 38+2 and they estimated baby to be 7lb9 - DH and I were both big babies (he was over 10lb on his due date!!) so I'm so curious to see if we make big babies too. Most of the nice baby clothes I've bought are in 0-3 months so I hope baby isn't too big or I won't get enough use out of them!
