@WinterBabyof89 I’ve never breast fed either, last time I exclusively pumped due to DS not patching. I think my milk is coming in as my boobs have gone huge and just feel Different. I might pump some just so I have the option of someone giving a bottle.

@PurplePansy05 that’s good to hear! So glad you’ve persevered and it’s paid off for you.

@wimbler thanks for that, I didn’t know newborns cluster fed so hopefully as soon as my milks in he will calm down a bit. Even if it’s every 2 hours it’s better than constant! 😂

sarah13xx · 08/08/2021 20:13

Have listened to the maybe baby podcast episode with anna williamson and it’s majorly calmed me down about tomorrow! It’s a good one to talk you through everything that happens ☺️ Going to try and focus on love island tonight then get some sleep hopefully 🤞🏼 The most strange night of my life haha

WinterBabyof89 · 08/08/2021 20:30

@PurplePansy05 wonderful that it’s worked out for you and DS - lovely having a nice outcome.
We had the heel prick today too and the midwife tested for Jaundice as LO has a tinge of yellow - I know she has it but just need to know to what extent/treatment required. Somebody will be phoning the results through later tonight - super quick!

@wimbler I found that too re:feeds. The constant feeding made my afterpains ridiculously painful (4th pregnancy so always going to be worse).

Daffodil21 · 08/08/2021 20:33

@sarah13xx I will also be watching love island later 😂 and no end of shit through the night while I try and get some sleep I imagine!!!

@sarah13xx channelling all the zen vibes for a good nights sleep

WinterBabyof89 · 08/08/2021 20:37

And @Daffodil21! Missed you out there.
So exciting to see all these babies born and to share experiences.

Daffodil21 · 08/08/2021 20:44

Thanks @WinterBabyof89 - I don't think there'll be much sleeping going on tonight 😂

sarah13xx · 08/08/2021 20:50

Thanks @WinterBabyof89 here’s hoping 😬

@Daffodil21 I can’t imagine I’ll sleep in the hospital at all and had a terrible nights sleep last night so really need to force myself not to look at my phone or watch anything I think. Will wake up with that awful sinking feeling when I realise why I’m awake 🙈

Smurf123 · 08/08/2021 20:52

@Hoares3 I've had 2 inductions now, never had a natural labour so have no comparisons but I don't think they were that bad compared to the stories people liked to tell before hand.
With ds I had a planned induction for 37 weeks due to igur went in on the Sunday morning, had the pessary, not much happened that day tbh and as a ftm I didn't really realise going for a walk was an option or a birthing ball. Monday morning I was taken to delivery suite waters broken drip started and ds was born at 8pm that night. I did have an epidural after the drip started.
This time around I'll be honest I had lots of waiting around but that was because I was kept in due to concerns of meconium in waters and reduced movements for the induction but they had no beds so it wasn't really the induction that took so long. My waters were broken on the Saturday morning - due to the meconium I was on constant monitoring though could have used a birthing ball beside the ctg if I wanted. I still needed the drip and due to my anxiety on the advice of the midwife I opted for the epidural early before starting the drip. The drip was turned off about 2pm as contractions were a little intense for baby although she was coping ok they thought best to stop it (should add at this point I was pretty much sleeping through them after an epidural top up so not really feeling them!) but my body was ready to do it itself by that point anyway so it was fine. Dd was born at 2341- I did need a few top ups of the epidural and I did use gas and air too.
The hardest part for me was the waters being broken but I have an inverted uterus so even smears are a challenge and despite it being hard that part was over quickly. I was really worried I'd end up a c section as everyone kept telling me before hand that I would due to my size but the actual active labour part wasn't that long. Only 1 stitch required also. With both my inductions I was up walking the next morning, catheter for epidural has to stay in for 12 hours post birth but as soon as that was out I was moving about. Sophia was born at almost midnight Saturday and I was home by 430pm Sunday.
Good luck I hope it goes well for you! Any questions I'll see if I can answer them.

BertieBotts · 08/08/2021 22:15

Good luck everyone with sections/inductions tomorrow!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 08/08/2021 22:56

Good luck to all for sections and inductions tomorrow and any more who end up having their babies this week too x

Aaaaa1519 · 08/08/2021 23:39

Been getting some strong pains all day today but I can’t tell if they’re real or braxtons hicks. They start in my back and radiate down to my legs, hurt enough to make me stop what I’m doing but they aren’t consistent like contractions.
A sign that I could be going into labour soon?

sarah13xx · 09/08/2021 06:07

Good luck @Daffodil21 I weirdly managed to sleep (a bit) and have woke up feeling overly calm about the situation 🙈 had breakfast so only having water now. Trying to keep myself busy putting fresh sheets on the crib, cleaning and taking the dog out before it’s time to go for a shower and get ready to go meet my baby! 😐🎉

PurplePansy05 · 09/08/2021 07:38

Good luck, girls! You've got this 💪💪💪

@Daffodil21 I think denial is the only way to get through it.. no point worrying when everything will be completely fine ☺️ I was more worried yesterday for some reason, might hit me when I get to hospital at 10!

Hoares3 · 09/08/2021 09:38

Hi all! Proud to announce the arrival of Ellis shooting into the world at 11.50pm last night 1 hour after being induced! All a bit of a shock but we are well trying to establish breastfeeding but hoping to be home sometime today, good luck everyone you got this Grin

Good luck @sarah13xx and @Daffodil21, I hope all goes smoothly for you both, and good luck to anyone else in labour/being induced.

@PurplePansy05 I’m so glad all went well for you and that you and Leo are now home, love his name too. Thanks so much for your advice re c section etc too, really helpful.
