@PurplePansy05 thanks, I’ve got a dog so will need to take him out on the morning of it but thinking that will be quite nice since itl be our last walk (where I can lead him anyway) for a few weeks 😊 been cleaning constantly and will need to do a final big clean this weekend but will just avoid bending down too much for fear of breaking my waters 😂

Ready2020 · 06/08/2021 13:16

Definitely in labour. It definitely really bloody hurts. See you on the other side.

sarah13xx · 06/08/2021 13:20

@Ready2020 bless you, good luck! Just think how soon you will get to see your little one. Hope it’s quick for you

MrsB2019x · 06/08/2021 13:22

Good luck @Ready2020!

Daffodil21 · 06/08/2021 13:25

@Ready2020 ahhhh good luck!!! Look forward to hearing all about it!! X

Haha yes @Daffodil21, it definitely has 😊 It's actually quite normal, like pre-pregnancy. It's so strange not to have the pregnancy belly anymore too, I look around 4 months pregnant now, but my uterus is contracting really quickly and I'm getting smaller every day. It's so strange and nice to feel normal-ish size again! xx

Daffodil21 · 06/08/2021 13:33

@PurplePansy05 tbf my pre-pregnancy state was still fairly frequent, but not on this level 😂 glad there's only a few more days of it!!

I was thinking about how the belly goes down today. It must be so strange for it to be so full and then suddenly have everything out!

PurplePansy05 · 06/08/2021 13:45

@Daffodil21 It is very strange indeed! Then I look at DS and think how was the whole of him plus the placenta and all the amniotic fluid in my belly, it's just huge 😱 I am pretty impressed with myself! Also stretch marks looking far worse now than in pregnancy for me, they're all next to each other now as my belly is shrinking! No doubt they'll end up looking better in time, but it's a new sight now! xx

Daffodil21 · 06/08/2021 13:56

@PurplePansy05 you've just confirmed what I've been wondering about stretch marks! Never mind!

@PurplePansy05 can you put bio oil on not long after the c-section? I’ve had it on every night while pregnant and think the second he’s out I’m going to end up covered in them. Probably not good to have oil anywhere near the wound for a good wee while though?

PurplePansy05 · 06/08/2021 15:39

@sarah13xx No not when the wound is still sealed, but I'm planning on putting it on from tomorrow. The midwives say it's healing really well and I should be able to take off the dressing tomorrow xx

Whatshouldbemyusername · 06/08/2021 16:05

@Ready2020 all the best girl x

Ava50x · 06/08/2021 16:20

@Ready2020 best of luck! Hope things go quick and easy for you!

@PurplePansy05 my pleasure. I found that the most useful piece of advice ever actually, when I was majorly struggling to BF DS3. Ended up EBF from 2 weeks, glad you found that reassuring! Hope your baby's glucose levels stabilise and you get to go home real soon!

@BertieBotts thanks for mentioning the Primark bras earlier. I went and bought some but they totally don't fit! How did you find the fit? Did you go with your normal current size?

WinterBabyof89 · 06/08/2021 16:21

@Ready2020 good luck, baby snuggles are almost here!

RunnerGirl123 · 06/08/2021 16:23

Hi ladies! So many exciting developments over the last couple of days!
I just want to let you all know our baby girl arrived on Thursday morning, at 0:53am weighing 6lb 14oz after a very speedy labour - 3.5 hours between waters breaking and her arriving! Totally besotted with her. We're home now, so are finding our new normal as a family of 3, plus the cat!
I'll still be checking in on here to see how you all get on. If anyone has any questions about vaginal delivery / spontaneous labour let me know and I'll see if I can answer!

Ava50x · 06/08/2021 16:37

huge congratulations @RunnerGirl123 so happy your baby has arrived! Sounds like you had a real quick labour, well done!! Enjoy the snuggles:)

BertieBotts · 06/08/2021 16:55

Oh no! I haven't tried mine on yet, I just eyeballed them and went with Medium thinking that would probably be fine after the birth. I'm wearing Large at the moment but I don't have big boobs so tend to wear their stretchy sports bras normally.

I always size up in Primark though as their sizes are teeny tiny.

We will defo keep the thread running to see us all through the newborn period and beyond :) so please don't feel you need to drop out once babies have arrived.

sarah13xx · 06/08/2021 17:37

Aww congratulations @RunnerGirl123 lovely news 😊 hope you’re enjoying every second of your new little family

biscuitcat · 06/08/2021 17:46

Congratulations @RunnerGirl123! How lovely for you 🥰

And good luck @Ready2020 - I hope labour is going smoothly and enjoy the lovely snuggly baby cuddles when the little one arrives!

Very jealous of those of you with babies arriving already - I'm trying to tell myself I'll appreciate this down time in a couple of weeks but right now I want baby here 😂

Daffodil21 · 06/08/2021 17:46

Lovely news @RunnerGirl123, congratulations!! X

PurplePansy05 · 06/08/2021 20:10

Congratulations @RunnerGirl123 💐 Welcome to motherhood! As I'm finding out now, it's a pretty awesome club 🥰

So glad we'll keep the thread running too. I would have been pretty lost without you all so many times!

The good news is that DS's levels are stabilising ❤ We will need to be signed off by two paediatricians tomorrow and fingers crossed might be released home for the weekend ❤ I am beyond relieved, it was a very worrying time, but yet again he's proved he's my little fighter ❤ xx

Aaaaa1519 · 06/08/2021 20:50

congratulations @RunnerGirl123
@PurplePansy05 that’s lovely news, fingers crossed for your little one to be home tomorrow x
