@Inmypjsagain Pre-lining underwear with pads is such a good idea, stealing that one!

Got the anxious wait for the call to go in for induction today.. eeeeek! My DH in his rose-tinted optimism thinks we’ll be having the baby today.. bless. 🥰😂 I’m placing my bets for Friday but we’ll see!

sarah13xx · 04/08/2021 07:42

@Inmypjsagain the pads in underwear thing is a good idea, might put some on mine rather than try to explain to my partner what he’s to do 😂 he will be horrified enough by that point I think, bless him!

@MrsB2019x good luck if you’re in today, hopefully baby will be with you nice and quickly 😊 do you go in and get sent back home or does it just depend?

PurplePansy05 · 04/08/2021 07:50

Hi all! Sorry for a short disappearance...Baby Pansy arrived safely yesterday afternoon, following a slight delay to accommodate a couple of EMCS. We're doing marvellous and DH and I are beyond thrilled ❤❤❤ My son is drop dead gorgeous, I'm obviously biased, but I don't care! Will post a bit more about how the section went later, we're resting at the moment.

Sending you all lots of love and congratulations to those of you who have also welcomed their bundles of joy 💐💐💐 There is NO feeling like it ❤❤❤ xxx

Daffodil21 · 04/08/2021 07:52

@PurplePansy05 Aw lovely, huge congratulations! 🥰 Hope you’re recovering well x

Magik01 · 04/08/2021 08:09

@BertieBotts yes it’s a planned section this time, I have mentioned all these things to midwifes and they say just tell the consultant on the day. Just seems very last minute to me!

@Inmypjsagain thank you for the super helpful post!! The ready made pads in knickers is genius, defo going to steal that one. Glad your feeling a lot better and bleeding ha subsided somewhat. I think after my first section I’d stopped bleeding at around 2 weeks! Hope it’s the same for you too.

@Daffodil21 I distinctly remember the nurse changing the pad for me when I couldn’t move. I was mortified but obviously they don’t care at all! I only put knickers on once the catheter was out as well and then they encouraged me to shower (obviously because there’s blood on your legs!)

@PurplePansy05 massive congratulations lovely!!! I hope everything went swimmingly for you. Take it easy Flowers

@sarah13xx I know what you mean, my section is (hopfully) this Friday and I’m already nervous. I’ve got to be at the hospital pretty early so it’s going to be a really early start for me as well! Then I know I won’t be sleeping that night 🤣

biscuitcat · 04/08/2021 08:41

@WinterBabyof89 @Inmypjsagain @PurplePansy05 congratulations all of you!!! So exciting 🥰🥰🥰 I can't believe how many babies are here already - I'm feeling quite jealous!

I had a wonder if I might be in very early labour last night as baby's movements felt different and were coming at regular-ish intervals, and starting to hurt a bit around my cervix, but no joy yet - had a feeling it was optimistic as I've not had a show or anything. Sadly I think they may be very cosy and wanting to stay put for another couple of weeks 😓

BertieBotts · 04/08/2021 08:46

Aaah congrats Pansy! It must feel unreal that he's finally here!

Magik I guess telling them on the day means they're more likely to remember and nothing needs advance set up. I'd write it down and take it with you in case nerves make you forget on the day :)

alittlexmasmagic · 04/08/2021 08:57

Loving all the baby announcements. Congratulations ladies x

WolfMother326 · 04/08/2021 09:06

Congratulations to everyone having their babies!

So happy for you @PurplePansy05 - so glad it went well and you are feeling well.

@Jessicapebbles, Ebony is gorgeous, congratulations. I hope the kidney infection clears up soon and you aren't too uncomfortable!

Inmypjsagain · 04/08/2021 09:21

@Whatshouldbemyusername 12 inches! Wow! I was surprised how not painful a wax was too, do you think it’s hormone related?

@MrsB2019x yeah I did it because I didn’t know what state id be in and I showed the pad to my husband and he thought it was the nappy and I just thought oh dear can’t be bothered to explain this one 😂 super exciting about your induction!!!!!! Hope all goes well xx

@sarah13xx the anxiety is awful, on the day of I was crying and I slept 2hours 22 min according to my Apple Watch the night before! But honestly I wish I could go back and tell myself about it because I’d be much calmer!

@PurplePansy05 congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thrilled for you!!!!!Welcome baby Pansy!! Enjoy the cuddles, hope you’re feeling okay and recovery goes well!!! xxx

@Magik01 2 weeks would be good, 🤞🏼 Do you have to go in for 7? If so it’s good if you’re one of the first of the day (I was the last and I was bloody starving!)

@biscuitcat time for extra spicey food and lots of raspberry leaf? Hope you get something happening soon. To think, your SIL could be staying at
Yours right about now…

Forgot how grim hospital food is though. How can they cock up toast?

RunnerGirl123 · 04/08/2021 09:35

Thanks everyone for your messages about my sweep, I feel better today, think I was just a little emotional/hormonal yesterday as I'd built it up in my head as the "next stage" of the plan, as it had been agreed weeks ago.

It's so exciting to hear of all the babies arriving, congratulations to you all. And the additional postpartum advice is great, so thank you for the advice sent over so far and making the time to message us 😘. Hopefully not too long until I join you!!

Magik01 · 04/08/2021 09:35

@Inmypjsagain I’ve been told to be there for half 7 so it looks like I might be one of the first all being well! Which I’m glad about as I don’t think my anxiety could cope waiting all day 😂 plus visiting in my hospital is only till 4pm so DH will be kicked out then! So the earlier the better

Whatshouldbemyusername · 04/08/2021 09:48

@PurplePansy05 aaaw congratulations my love!!! Am sure you and baby Pansy have lots of cuddles to catch up on so just let us know as and when you can. Congratulations once again! X

@Inmypjsagain I wonder if it's hormone related. Heard would be painful but I think I'm mentally prepared for a birth to be more painful than waxing I think that helped. I kept telling myself surely you're gonna do something more painful in less than 3 weeks. This will be ok! Maybe that helped? Haha x

sarah13xx · 04/08/2021 09:49

@Magik01 at mine they split it so two get done in the morning and two afternoon. I’m an afternoon one (hoping I’m the first but doubt it) so I’m allowed breakfast at 6 at least then I’ve to be in for 10. I’ll be pacing about my house for those 4 hours though 🤦🏼‍♀️ My family don’t know when it is but I’ve told them everyone has to be in for 7 on whatever day so I’m going to throw them off by being out a walk at 9 on the day 😂

wimbler · 04/08/2021 10:02

@PurplePansy05 huge congratulations! So pleased it all went well. Enjoy the newborn snuggles.

The pre lining of underwear with pads is such a great idea. Wish I’d thought of that. You can also use the always pants meant for incontinence. My husband was a trooper. When I first got off the bed to go and shower post birth I left a trail of blood to the bathroom. I came out to find him mopping it all up bless him. I’m day 9 now and the bleeding is definitely lighter. I’m on the boots slim maternity pads now which are far more comfortable than the massive ones!

biscuitcat · 04/08/2021 10:12

@Inmypjsagain yes definitely - plus clary sage, walks, sex 😂 I think baby will resent how much I want them to move out!! Thank goodness SIL hasn't brought it up again (or if she has, DH hasn't mentioned) the past couple of months - they've gone for the sensible option of staying nearby and hoping that baby arrives before they have to go home!

MrsB2019x · 04/08/2021 10:14

Congratulations @PurplePansy05! So pleased he’s finally here 💙

Had a call from the induction midwife, they are delayed so it’s not looking likely to be today after all. I’m absolutely gutted. 😢

Ready2020 · 04/08/2021 10:19

Ah congrats @PurplePansy05 looking forward to photos.

It's my official EDD today but she's quite happy in there. Thought I felt a bit more pressure than usual the last day or 2 but I really don't think she'll be shifting for another week or so. Got my next midwife appointment tomorrow where induction will no doubt be discussed.

I've impulsed bought another tapestry frame today (I do weaving and embroidery as a small business out of normal work) in the naive hope I'll be able to do some little weavings between naps 😂

lucyrp · 04/08/2021 10:29

@PurplePansy05 aw congratulations!!🥰🥰

I noticed some big stretch marks which have appeared literally in the last couple of days so I'm having a bit of a cry about that 😩 had none with my first and didn't have any with this pregnancy until just now 😣

Magik01 · 04/08/2021 10:40

Aww how exciting!!

I keep having loads of contractions overnight but they are gone by the morning. A sign things are getting ready I suppose.

sarah13xx · 04/08/2021 12:09

@Winecoffeeteamum Aw amazing! Congratulations 💖
