@RandomCatGenerator I wouldn’t say your being selfish at all. A doctor wouldn’t recommend it if they didn’t think it was necessary. My DS was born at 37+1 via EMCS and he was fine! Would you be given steroids to help lung development with it being slightly earlier?

@biscuitcat I know exactly how you feel. I had a cry today because I’m so tired, which made me cry more because I know much worse is yet to come! Panicking on how I will cope with a newborn and toddler to be honest which makes me very anxious as well.

Magik01 · 01/08/2021 20:26

@RandomCatGenerator sorry just seen that you won’t be getting steroids. I wouldn’t worry too much. I didn’t have them with my first with it being an emergency and he was fine. Obviously I know each baby is different but 37+ weeks is classed as full term so I wouldn’t worry too much. Flowers

PurplePansy05 · 01/08/2021 20:42

@lucyrp Well they measured me the same way as the Bravissimo team who enlightened me years ago that I was in fact a 34E not a 36C like I thought in my early 20s 🤣 and I bought a couple of bras that suit me really well so they knew what they were doing. However, that was pre-pregnancy. I didn't bother with being measured now because it's all changing monthly for me, I'm just wearing whatever is stretchy, gentle and comfortable, usually Bravado or Lindex. xx

PurplePansy05 · 01/08/2021 20:47

@RandomCatGenerator My section is before 39 weeks and I'm not getting steroids either (in the UK). It has been discussed but the consultant didn't think it was necessary. xx

RandomCatGenerator · 01/08/2021 20:52

I’m having a real flap about the c section timing now. I didn’t realise pre-39 weeks was totally unusual in UK. Aaaargg.

WinterBabyof89 · 01/08/2021 20:55

The risks are still low so don’t fret. Chat with your consultant and make a decision from there :)

Ready2020 · 01/08/2021 22:21

Just to chime in that m and s were really good at measuring me and even discouraged me to buy more than 1 nursing bra until I could get fitted again after birth seeing as I'll change shape. I wouldn't think it matters if you're a size 8, 10 or 16 on bra size. It all goes by your shape.

Happy August! 3 days to due date, not that it counts for much really. Trying to encourage OH to try sex to move things on a bit 😂

Daffodil21 · 01/08/2021 22:54

Good luck for this week @Inmypjsagain @PurplePansy05 @MrsB2019x - not sure exactly when your sections are this week so thought I would just pass on my best wishes at the begging of the week. Update us when you can! ❤️

@Inmypjsagain @PurplePansy05 @MrsB2019x
Good luck this week everyone! 😬❤️

PurplePansy05 · 01/08/2021 23:24

@RandomCatGenerator It's not unusual pre-39 weeks, it depends on the circumstances, if there are any concerns or complications an earlier section is not uncommon. Week 39 is considered an optimum for the baby if there are no reasons to do the section sooner, that's all. Babies are full term at 37 weeks.

Thank you for all the good wishes all, I can't believe it's this week 🙈😱

Upcoming TMI confession, I managed to pee myself for the first time that I can remember 🤣 DH sprayed some really strong cleaning stuff and it's tickled my nose, I had a sneezing fit and it proved too much for my bladder and pelvis at 38+3 😳🙈🤦🏼‍♀️ Dear me! Here we go!

Then I spilled a cup of tea over my bedsheets EVERYWHERE, accidentally knocked it as I was about to express some colostrum 🙈🤦🏼‍♀️ So now I need to wash my sheets, duvet and mattress protector (great timing...!). Don't think I'll be going to bed anytime soon, need to put it all in a tumble dryer!

Sign of things to come??? 🤣 xx

Daffodil21 · 01/08/2021 23:32

Oh no @PurplePansy05 ! You've just prompted me to order a back up mattress protector for such events!

PurplePansy05 · 01/08/2021 23:35

@Daffodil21 I'm doing the same....I recommend the waterproof one from Wayfair, it saved my mattress and topper tonight! xx

Aaaaa1519 · 01/08/2021 23:44

Just had a look at the list 5 little boys and a little girl all coming between now and next Monday. Good luck everyone ♥️

Aaaaa1519 · 01/08/2021 23:47

@PurplePansy05 you’ve done very well to get this far without accidents lol
I get a pregnancy cough that stays the 9 months I was fine with dd1 but this time it’s been accidents galore 🙈 can’t leave the house without a pad on

Daffodil21 · 01/08/2021 23:48

@PurplePansy05 thanks - I'll take a look! I've got a generic waterproof one but I haven't had to test out how good it is yet so I think I'll go with your tried and tested one 😂

Daffodil21 · 01/08/2021 23:49

And of course good luck to those due this week too! I wonder if they'll arrive on time..! We shall soon see 😀

I've just spilled a pint of water all over my carpet...honestly wth! Maybe I am actually a bit stressed out inside before this week! 🙈🤦🏼‍♀️ xx

lucyrp · 02/08/2021 06:05

@Ready2020 always thought the same until I read the BOB method and joined the group on Facebook. Won't take long before you realise! Thought I was a 36DD until measured on there and actually am a 34F. Band size is actually to do with dress size most of the time so you shouldn't be anywhere near a big band size if you aren't a higher dress size. Its all very stressful though and when I went to get measured by M&S for a normal bra at 6 months it definitely showed as its the worst fitting bra I've had 😅 thought it was great to start with then as the days went on it got even more annoying. Maybe just stick to the innocence of thinking they're good its less stressful 😂

lucyrp · 02/08/2021 06:06

Also ... 38 weeks today. Wonder if my bundle of joy will actually make an appearance the week I want baby too ...🤔

Mummywantsaweewee · 02/08/2021 06:41

@Daffodil21 I’ve not been on these threads for ages due to having a scare early on and not wanting to count my chickens!
My edd by scan is 4th, but by my ovulation date I’m due the 6th. Don’t know the sex. Firstborn came exactly 40 weeks after last period! So I think 6th more likely.
I’m SO uncomfortable. Hobbling around bent slightly forward as baby’s definitely engaged and I get terrible lightning crotch… plus some other pain when the baby’s hitting something in my pelvis (nerves? Cervix?? Ouch!)
Last time I started losing my plug 4 days before birth.. nothing seen so far!

Ready2020 · 02/08/2021 07:31

@lucyrp I think calling it innocence is a little patronising tbh! All I can go by is my experience which is I got a bra fitted from M and S (many times) and it fits great. You've obviously had a different experience which is fine, but please don't presume everyone is the same.

lucyrp · 02/08/2021 07:36

@Ready2020 sorry maybe innocence is the wrong word but I can't think of the right word! All high street stores are exactly the same, if you look up sister sizing and what I've been talking about it it's quite interesting! They just measure you to something that's close to fitting so they're able to make money. I've always been measured by M&S don't buy their bras though and never had a bra that fits correctly, in lock down I measured myself and found a much better fit and then went and got measured with M&S as soon as I could again and ended up with a 38DD non wired bra which folds down on itself on the sides by at least an inch so can't say I am happy with that. I wasn't saying everyone's the same just saying they're doing their job by selling people stuff, I merely asked you to try the method and see for yourself🤷🏼‍♀️

lucyrp · 02/08/2021 07:37

@Ready2020 the whole thing actually stresses me out so much I wish I didn't have to wear a bra at all because I'm never comfortable and knowing they're wrong when they're the only people I thought I could trust is upsetting 😅

sarah13xx · 02/08/2021 08:40

Eating breakfast this morning just thinking how completely strange I’m going to feel this time next week getting ready to head to the hospital for my section 😬 I’ve got butterflies and still have a week to prepare myself 🤣

PurplePansy05 · 02/08/2021 08:55

@sarah13xx I'm feeling like this now, it's THE week 😱 I had a little chat with the bump yesterday, telling him we spent nearly 39 weeks together and I'll miss his little kicks and movements, but my arms will be full ❤ it feels very emotional xx
