Looks like il be going in for reduced movements this evening. Sucks that I have to drive an hour to the hospital to get checked though 😩

Ava50x · 27/07/2021 15:11

@WolfMother326 i'm only 36 weeks tomorrow... Frantic at the thought of another few weeks of this! Good luck with it, hope it goes fast for all of us!

@lucyrp oh no, hope all is OK with baby. Keep us posted!

biscuitcat · 27/07/2021 15:14

Lovely story @Smurf123 🥰 and what a gorgeous name.

I'm very jealous of those of you with babies already/with dates booked in! I'm so uncomfortable now, and just want to evict baby.

Has anyone else been feeling very restless lately? I'm usually a really good sleeper (though obviously up a lot to pee at the moment), but last night I just couldn't drift off, I ended up in the nursery sorting baby clothes then watching trashy TV downstairs until well after 2am, and didn't even feel tired, I so hope that doesn't continue and was just a one off bad night

sarah13xx · 27/07/2021 15:20

@Ava50x yip I’m just in time for the best bit I think 😂 I have had the easiest pregnancy ever and almost felt a bit smug about it but since about last week I’ve just felt like I’ve been hit by a bus. Everything hurts and the weather hasn’t helped either! I seem to wake up okay in the morning then as the day goes on my energy just goes and my legs end up so heavy at night 🤦🏼‍♀️ If it had been easy right to the end though I would probably not have felt ready to get him out!

Magik01 · 27/07/2021 15:24

@Smurf123 what a lovely name and thank you for sharing you story! So exciting that babies are appearing now!

Welcome @sarah13xx and @quietlyspoken08 there are a few of us that are booked in for sections!! Mine is next week Grin

I had my pre op today, had bloods taken and an MRSA swob as well. Also was given tablets to take the night before and morning of as well as two “lovely” lemon drinks for the morning! I did find out my DH isn’t allowed to come into MAU with me to wait though which sucks. I just have to ring him when it’s my turn to go into theatre. Are other hospitals like this too?

Inmypjsagain · 27/07/2021 15:30

Welcome @quietlyspoken08 and @sarah13xx

@Jessicapebbles one step closer! How are you feeling?!

@lucyrp oh no, how stressful! Hope everything is ok, let us know how you get on!

@biscuitcat yes to restless, I’m struggling to sleep before 1am despite feeling really tired. I was chatting to my SIL last night and she said she was a total night owl at this point so It seems normal. I think it’s a mix of fidgeting and sleeping just being so uncomfortable.

Good news for me, I got obs sign off today and had my c section booked. I can officially say I’ll be having a baby next week (assuming all goes to plan!) a few days before my due date. I am crossing my legs until then as very much don’t want baby to come early!!! So relieved, as I really thought I’d have to go private! My head is spinning though, I’m really having a baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angelesque · 27/07/2021 15:32

Hi @sarah13xx - booked in for section on 16 August. Really starting to feel like baby won’t wait till then though - last few days I’ve been having more back pain, bit of cramping… really feels like my body’s getting ready for eviction, even though I’m only 36+2! Wouldn’t be surprised if my section’s nearer when you’re having yours!

Jessicapebbles · 27/07/2021 15:34

@Inmypjsagain That is great news for you!

I’m so ready for baby to be born! I just can’t wait to be able to lay down comfortably and for my swelling go all go away! X

sarah13xx · 27/07/2021 15:34

@Magik01 oh amazing, good luck! How are you feeling about it? I don’t have to take any of those lovely drinks 🙈 and for some reason my hospital have changed to omeprazole instead of ranitidine so they only get you to take it on the morning when you arrive now and not the night before 🤔 that’s rubbish he can’t wait with you.. I feel like that will be the most nerve wracking bit. What’s the rules for after baby arrives, how long does he stay? Weirdly my hospital is fine with him coming to hang about for hours before it but he needs to leave whenever I’m leaving recovery so he isn’t allowed to come to the ward. They’ve said it’s max 2 hours after you leave theatre, might be less. Then he’s allowed a 1 hour visit per day that I’m in 🙄 He’s not even allowed in to collect us, he has to wait at the door with the car seat and they will bring me, baby and our stuff down to meet him. The rules are just a bit bizarre. I don’t see why they don’t just test us both (I think they do anyway?!) then he can come in and stay during the day til 9pm then come back at 9am as long as he isn’t going other places in between

lucyrp · 27/07/2021 15:34

@Ava50x @Inmypjsagain I'm hoping it's thag baby has just started to run out of room more and that's why but movements were reduced yesterday but thought I'd leave it and didn't have anyone to have DS and thought they'd be more active today but hasn't seemed to be the case 😓

sarah13xx · 27/07/2021 15:37

@Angelesque ahhh 😬 hopefully baby will hold on! In a way if it was calm enough I wouldn’t mind if I ended up going early but I just don’t want the big emergency if it can be avoided 🙈 I did start to feel like that for a few days though and now I feel like he’s settled back in and will wait 😂

Whatshouldbemyusername · 27/07/2021 15:44

@lucyrp all will be well hun. Keep us posted x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 27/07/2021 15:47

Welcome @sarah13xx and @quietlyspoken08 x

Inmypjsagain · 27/07/2021 15:48

@Jessicapebbles thanks, am so relieved! And I 💯 relate to the lying down comfortably and the swelling- I actually mentioned the swelling to the dr today- she checked blood pressure anyway and all was ok but I look so puffy. Wonder how long it takes for swelling to go?

@lucyrp yeah hopefully that’s the case, my movements felt slower and just different, more like rolling, but I went in too. Sure Itll be the same for you but better to checked out, just in case xxx

Jessicapebbles · 27/07/2021 15:51

@Inmypjsagain I don’t remember it taking that long to go last time! Although I could have been so pre occupied that I stopped noticing it! I think if I wasn’t so swollen and puffy I’d be enjoying pregnancy so much more! X

Inmypjsagain · 27/07/2021 16:01

@Jessicapebbles this is what my husband said, I won’t have time to notice the swelling next week, think he has a point! I think if pregnancy was more comfortable in general I wouldn’t mind it, but between pelvis pain, sickness, swelling, painful kicks… well it’s definitely worse than I thought 😂

To those who have experience of c sections, would you recommend I take start taking laxatives after c section? Google tells me the first few number 2s are quite unpleasant when you lose ability to use your core. Am I Over worrying? I’ve got peppermint tea and capsules in my bag already…

sarah13xx · 27/07/2021 16:05

@Inmypjsagain I think the hospital give you some do they not? The nurse at my hospital said you get a prescription away with you. I was thinking I could order them on Amazon prime next day delivery when I’m in hospital if I need them for when I’m out. I think your digestion is just really slow, plus painful gas and your stomach being split in half so I’d imagine you wouldn’t want to put pressure on it anyway 🙈

Inmypjsagain · 27/07/2021 16:28

@sarah13xx ah do they? That would make sense, I’ll have a pre op appointment but I just don’t know when, maybe Itll get explained then! Just want to be prepared as best I can be!

BertieBotts · 27/07/2021 16:51

Stool softeners was what I read, definitely not laxatives! You don't want anything explosive but a bit softer is no bad thing so you don't have to strain. If you have any opiate pain medication afterwards (including codeine) that can make you constipated so the stool softener helps combat that.

Policy about husband sounds normal for COVID times unfortunately :(

I find when I get woken up in the middle of the night I am just absolutely starving and have to stop and have a bowl of cereal or some toast or something. I'm soooo hungry at the moment in general but my tummy is all squashed and I can't fit anything in it! So having to eat little and often.

sarah13xx · 27/07/2021 16:57

@Inmypjsagain I presumed I would have a pre-op appointment but they did an online class instead so I don’t think I’m getting one. I’ve just to get the blood test done when I arrive and they give me omeprazole then too so I’ve not to take it the night before. I’m going to ask in the hospital if they give you something to make it a bit easier 🙈 I’m sure they do

PurplePansy05 · 27/07/2021 17:25

@Jessicapebbles I had a scan pre-section yesterday and he's head down and still a big dude, AC measurement at just shy of 42 weeks 🙈 It looks like he's going to be another whopper like @wimbler 's son or even bigger, he's estimated similar weight now. Wimbler, well done for pushing him out and a VBAC too, honestly!

@Magik01 in my hospital they give you the exact time of arrival and so partners don't hang around waiting, we just get ready and go straight in from what I understand.

I was given Omeprazolle to take the night before and the morning of, nothing else, no drinks, no MRSA swab. Covid swab booked for this weekend. Then DH can stay with me at the recovery suite and visit for 2 hrs daily at the postnatal ward.

@Inmypjsagain ah amazing, next week will be so exciting for us!!! 🥰

@lucyrp Keep us posted, hope both of you are ok xx

Daffodil21 · 27/07/2021 17:51

@Magik01 what are those drinks etc for?

Welcome @sarah13xx and @quietlyspoken08 - Sarah my CS is also on the 9th :)

@PurplePansy05 Wow! A big boy!! So excited for you to have him, you’ve waited so long!

@Inmypjsagain Oh yeah I totally agree, end end of the third trimester has been so crap in both my pregnancies! I’m so so greatful for my girls as I know not everyone is as lucky. But jeez it’s hard on your body isn’t it.
Had to convince the hospital to let me go home as I keep having tightenings. But I’m so sure they’re not going to amount to anything so he’s let me come home to monitor it. I’m under strict instructions to go in if anything gets worse!

HopefulB · 27/07/2021 18:14

@BertieBotts I’d love a cold water swim, but the river here has been has sewage discharge into it 🤮 so I’m settling for the 24degree lido. Baby just seems to sleep when I swim though - so not sure it will help with turning!

Singing to bump sounds Lovely - my OH seems to have taken to blowing raspberries on her 🤨

Welcome newbies!

I met Champson IRL as we had an appointment in same day at the hospital. I sent her a message when she first shared her news, but have not followed up as I left it that I was there if she wanted someone to talk to, but would not contact her incase she didn’t want to see/chat to a preggo.

I’m not loving having access to the insider knowledge on staffing/capacity at the the hospital I’m due to give birth in. Cannot wait for Mat Leave to start.

BertieBotts · 27/07/2021 18:43

It wasn't that cold. It's been really warm here so 24 was probably about the right temperature! DS2 got a bit cold and shivery after a while, but it wasn't uncomfortable anyway.
