Is there a group for us mamas to be? If not, join one and all, let's get this started...

@Adelyra whilst this is my first pregnancy, my 10yo step-daughter lives with us full-time and we're trying to decide when to tell her. Hubby thinks ASAP but it's such a big secret to ask her to keep! Now thinking either after my first Midwife appointment (8weeks) or after my 12-week scan but tell her she's the very first person to see the picture so she feels important.

If I start feeling too rough, however, we might tell her as she's is very intelligent and I'd rather tell her than she works it out and feel she can't ask!

Adelyra · 06/06/2021 22:51

@Foxy1303 I love how you're putting your OH's daughter at the centre of these decisions ❤ (I wish my stepmums had had some of that consideration.)

Foxy1303 · 07/06/2021 07:35

@Adelyra absolutely! We've been together since she was 18m old. She's my daughter, I just didn't carry her 😊

Foxy1303 · 07/06/2021 07:38

Morning all, wanted to update you all following my jab yesterday. I felt rubbish all day yesterday but that was BEFORE I had the jab at 3pm. Felt ok in the evening, slight sore arm but I slept on it so couldn't have been that bad. I feel absolutely fine this morning, can't say I notice any side effects at all ☺️

Sunshine8888 · 07/06/2021 09:13

Thanks @Foxy1303, good to know you haven’t felt too awful after it. I couldn’t decide what to do so I cancelled mine and think I’ll now wait until second trimester if all goes well ... I’m wfh anyway and there are barely any cases in my area so hopefully risk of catching covid is low

Sunshine8888 · 07/06/2021 09:14

Ooh and I retested this morning on a CN digital and got my 3+ so that’s exciting

Sunshine8888 · 07/06/2021 09:14

Sorry I meant CB

Adelyra · 07/06/2021 09:27

@Sunshine8888 I did that last night also got a 3+ 💕❤

Sunshine8888 · 07/06/2021 09:29

@Adelyra it’s reassuring isn’t it? How many weeks are you? I think I’m 5+2 going from first day of withdrawal bleed ( but as it wasn’t a proper period I’m not actually sure) !

Adelyra · 07/06/2021 10:30

I am so rubbish at dates and conception - I know we DTD on 09.05 and last period was 26.04 so I think I am 6 weeks today. 🙈

stripytiger09 · 07/06/2021 10:51

My last period was 5th May which would make me 4+5 but my cycles have been much shorter since Covid vaccine/tfmr both around same time in Feb so I'm sure who knows! It's so annoying, with my first baby my cycles were 28 days on the dot so I could plan fully and knew exactly when I ovulated. This one we DTD once when I thought I might me ovulating (a feeling rather than OPK) and it turned out correct! 🎉

Bundaberg84 · 07/06/2021 10:54

So I went to my second ob/gyn appointment this morning. Still having stupid bleeding, even though I didn't do much this whole weekend. The hcg levels from last Thursday were within range, so that's good. They will ring me tomorrow when they know if the hcg levels from today are higher than on Thursday. I don't know how to feel yet. On one side it's great that the levels were within range last week, as I'm bleeding since 15dpo, on the other hand there's still a lot that can happen in between.

Adelyra · 07/06/2021 12:11

@Bundaberg84

Are you spotting? Are bleeding fresh and red?

It must be stressful for you. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 it's just a scare.

Bundaberg84 · 07/06/2021 12:51

@Adelyra I'm spotting since the day AF was due. So therefore I know at least that the pregnancy somewhat developed since then, which I guess is a good sign, or at least not a bad sign.
The first couple of days were just light brown. The last couple of days it started to be reddish. It's probably more spotting than bleeding, as in I don't need a pad or anything, it's really only when I go to the toilet. Never over night.

Foxy1303 · 07/06/2021 14:29

@Adelyra I think we're having the same baby! We only DTD on 08.05 and my last period was 26.04! 😂
CycloGoose · 07/06/2021 14:39

@Bundaberg84 so glad to hear you were in range on Thursday 🤞🤞🤞 everything is fine in there with baby bean. I've been thinking of you so thanks for keeping us updated.

Sorry not been on chat so much. Totally swamped at work but struggling with motivation after working so much over weekend! Reading your comments on telling bosses. I'm so nervous about it as I'm a teacher and I haven't been at the school a full year yet. The head is wonderful but also can be quite scary! I want to tell but so scared I'll then lose it and not pass probation but then also if anything does go wrong, I don't think I could cope being in school not being able to go to the loo for hours on end. Moved some desks this morning and had a nasty twinge and so scared I've done something bad.

100% Anxious Annie over here 🤦🏼‍♀️

minthumbugs · 07/06/2021 17:54

@littlelionroars what an absolute farse with the vaccine. Everything I've read or been told has just been pretty balanced information and bottom line is you decide for yourself so that's really frustrating that they refused you. What are you going to do, rebook in a couple of months time?

Hey @Trinacham congrats! X

@PoodleOodle your symptoms are all sounding pretty textbook!

@Foxy1303 glad to hear that your vaccine went well, that's a relief. It definitely is a big secret for a kiddo to keep, she will just be so excited about it! It will be nice for her to feel special though. X

@Sunshine8888 and @Adelyra fab news on getting your 3+s, that's great!

Sorry the bleeding hasn't gone away @Bundaberg84, it's absolute torture. That's really good news about being within range though considering the bleeding has been all this time, that's a good sign. Fingers crossed for you for tomorrow. X

Oh @CycloGoose I wouldn't worry about the big twinge! Easier said than done. But there's lots going on in there and I think there's a lot to be said about paying extra special attention to every little niggle. X

minthumbugs · 07/06/2021 17:57

My current situation involves very little of the symptoms I was expecting! Been a bit bloated, a little bit tired and had the tiniest bout of nausea yesterday. But overall I feel pretty much normal (even good?!) which I wasn't expecting and it's not filling me with joy. Haven't done any more tests since my 2-3 week disappointment and I'm planning on doing one again the morning of my scan, so at least if it's disappointing I don't have long to wait to get more of an idea what's going on. Scan later this week so not long to wait. Can't decide if I want to be hopeful or not if that makes any sense!

Bundaberg84 · 07/06/2021 18:26

@minthumbugs my ob/gyn said it's totally normal to not feel pregnant at this stage. It will happen soon enough ;)
I asked my ob/ gyn about the vaccination. He said I should decide for myself but if I were his daughter he'd say don't do it unless you have a pre-existing condition. Actually they don't vaccine you here where I live unless you're in your third trimester.
@CycloGoose thank you hun!😊

NorthernMammy · 07/06/2021 18:33

Hi all, please can I join? I think I'm 6+6 today so due 25th of Jan but my cycles aren't super regular so fully expecting to be a bit out! It's my first pregnancy so I spend most of my life googling things I can and can't do/eat etc. Feeling nervous and excited in equal measure at the moment and desperate to talk about it as only my partner knows so far!

Bundaberg84 · 07/06/2021 18:34

@NorthernMammy welcome! It's my first as well. We're here to go through this together 😊

NorthernMammy · 07/06/2021 18:38

Thanks @Bundaberg84! I found the thread a few days ago but it felt like a very real thing to join! Then I realised I'm thinking about it all the time anyway.

minthumbugs · 07/06/2021 18:42

Hey @NorthernMammy congrats! I followed along a thread last time too scared to join in and I regretted it, it's good to have some support.

@Bundaberg84 kinda my thinking on the vaccine too! It's nice for someone sometimes to give you that kind of advice rather than just it's your decision but.. x

Foxy1303 · 07/06/2021 20:27

Hi @NorthernMammy, my first pregnancy too. I'm 6 weeks, so not far behind! How are you feeling?

NorthernMammy · 07/06/2021 20:31

Thanks @minthumbugs I totally agree!

Ok thanks @Foxy1303 just tired mostly. I feel sick when I eat but not all the time, and quite often have weird tummy aches when I go to bed. Don't know if I just notice it then. Slight back ache and sore boobs but manageable for now!
