@decafforme that's great on the scan!
Re vaccines I haven't had any yet 😬 I don't know if this helps, my midwife said it's meant to be safe for all trimesters but she recommended I cancel mine and get it at week 13 as the development is all done by then mostly. So I've done that, but a bit nervous to be unvaccinated, esp living in London

@decafforme I had my first vaccine when I was 5 weeks pregnant, knew I was pregnant so had a long discussion with them beforehand and felt comfortable having it. My 2nd vaccine is booked for when I'll be 16 weeks. I had Moderna and think the 2nd jab makes you feel a bit worse than the first so wanted to be over 1st trimester symptoms first.

After the longest wait of my life, happy to report my first scan went well today, they think I'm actually 14 weeks and that my due date is now 11 Jan. Cried quite a few happy tears and looking forward to a decent night's sleep tonight 😁

@BristolEm congratulations 🥳

I had my ivf viability scan yesterday and all is looking good! I'm 8 weeks today so just 4 more to go until I can breathe properly 😮‍💨

@decafforme I cancelled my second jab too, might have it second trimester but not made up my mind yet.

How is everyone doing? Everyone symptoms starting to ease or still in the middle
Of it all?

I'm definitely still having the odd nausea feeling and have to keep on top of. With food but have aversions to basically everything but haven't been sick in nearly a week now so that's positive! I'm 12 weeks Thursday so hoping I'm over the worst.

Scan this week too Grin have you all had yours?

becarefuloutthere · 20/07/2021 21:36

@decafforme thank you 😊 I'm 9 weeks today so still feeling sick, tired and crampy. Can't wait for these next few weeks to pass and get to 12 weeks for the scan and hopeful end of nausea! Haven't been sick tho, so feel for you puking, glad it's stopped.
Is your scan on Thursday then? Bet you can't wait!!

I'm 15 weeks now and I'm happy to report that the only thing I feel is euphoric! I was never sick but definitely fely hungover most the time and I think that stopped about week 13 so hang in there as it really does get better. My thyroid levels seem to have sorted themselves out about the same time as back to full energy again too which is a welcome relief. Although I'm not a fan of this 30 degree heat!

I can now understand why there are some people who enjoy being pregnant (I thought they were mad before) but I've quickly forgotten about those long 2 months of discomfort now and going to make the most of the next few months before it all goes downhill again.

@BristolEm oh wow I can’t wait to get to 15 weeks, that’s when I really started feeling good again with my first baby! I’m 11+3 today so still a little way to go, my nhs scan is a week Saturday so should be nearly 13 weeks by then 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Feeling ok actually! Better than I was although certain foods still don’t sit well and tiredness is still very much present along with the foggy hangover head.

Hi Grin looks like I'm a bit late to the party! I'm almost 11 weeks, I think, hard to confirm as my last period was in Nov 2018 Confused I'm super excited but also a major worrier so not spilling the beans to anyone until 12 weeks, had some bleeding at 6/7 weeks which was caused by a UTI, I`ve had 2 scans so far but have been discharged from the EPU so that's hopeful! Not going to lie I was not prepared for the nausea and complete loss of appetite, had 2 very small meals for the first time in 6 weeks yesterday, things are looking up Grin Have a wedding tomorrow so that's going to be fun as usually I enjoy a drink Wine I'm hoping the fatigue and extremely sensitive nipples run along soon, I had assumed Id be glowing by now but its defo not happening, hopefully it will appear in the next 29 weeks Smile

Oh fab you're all getting on well and hopefully over the worst of all the sickness etc.
I hadn't been sick in a week, couple of times I was nauseous but not sick but then I was this morning out of nowhere. Stopped completely at 14 weeks with dc1 so hoping at the latest that's it. Had my scan yesterday and baby all looking good 😊

Congratulations @Rua90

Hi all, is anyone having issues with sleep since falling pregnant? I've had noticibly more vivid dreams which I understand is normal but I'm also awake for at least an hour in the night. Last night it was between 3am - 5am, was so close to nodding off but didn't quite happen for ages.

I wouldn't say I'm particually stressed, just seem to be wide awake. Wondering if this is my body preparing me for not sleeping through the night for a while!

Report
becarefuloutthere · 11/08/2021 19:39

@BristolEm I can concur! I'm waking up once or twice in the night for a wee and struggled to get bk to sleep the past two nights but think that was scanxiety nerves as had my 12 week today (all fine thankfully). Dreams defo more vivid too!

Hello ladies, can I join? I've been on a social media detox for a couple of months but back now! Had my dating scan a couple of weeks ago- due 19th Feb!
Also have a LO who is 17 months so keeping busy! How is everyone?
I had joined a Facebook group stemmed out of a Mumsnet thread when I got my bfp but seems I've been removed whilst on my social media break unfortunately.

Welcome @swiggles 😁

I had my 20 week scan last week and found out we're having a little boy 💙

Is anyone struggling with birth choices? I'm tempted to go for an elective c section for a number of reasons but the recovery time is also a concern.

swiggles · 01/09/2021 09:15

Thanks @BristolEm
Congratulations it's a little fella 💙
I too worry about recovery with an elective CS. I had a chat with a consultant yesterday as I had an emergency CS with my first and was surprised to learn that chances of scar rupturing are 1/200 😳 would still like to go for a VBAC for shorter recovery if I don't develop any complications- had ICP last time so was induced at 38weeks.
