@Sunshine8888

Are you having your booking appointments in person? Mine is over the phone and then I have to go separately for bloods

Whatever the rules I’m just hopeful they’re kinder than when I had my first last April. They were only letting partner in for later stage of birth and then sending them home after with no visitors allowed. As I was in for 10 days after that wasn’t fun.

That sounds awful, hopefully now with the vaccine those days are over!

As far as I'm aware my booking in is in person, I've been told to expect to be there for an hour. I'm now sure how they'll fill it as I'm sure my others were much quicker. Although my youngest will be 13 this year so I suppose a lot will have changed!

Trinacham · 28/06/2021 20:11

@Sunshine8888 I had a phone call to go through my health history and DH history. Then had the bloods, urine, blood pressure etc today at a clinic. Took half an hour.

mummyh2016 · 28/06/2021 20:20

Mine was in person, I asked about future appointments and I was told everything will be in person.

BristolEm · 29/06/2021 12:53

@bubblegumunicorn I've had bad bloating from early on and have been hiding away from everyone as finding it hard to hide the bump. I'll be hitting 12 weeks next week and although I'm still waiting for my scan date, I can't wait to not have to worry about trying to hide it.

I normally take peppermint oil for IBS flare ups but not allowed to take it in pregnancy so have just been sticking to lots of water and the odd peppermint tea. Never thought I'd become jealous instead of annoyed by my husband's farting 🤣

decafforme · 29/06/2021 13:07

Hey can I join please?

I am 8+5 with second dc. Dc 1 is 15 months Grin due start of feb 2022.

All those second time mummies how are you finding it? I may have forgotten but feel like I feel so much worse this time! It could be having dc 1 now though!

Sunshine8888 · 29/06/2021 13:43

@decafforme I am similar, I’m 7+6 with baby no 2 and I have a nearly 15 month old. Also back at work. This time feels awful, I am beyond exhausted and starting to feel sick as well. I feel like the glorious second trimester will never arrive 😔

NorthernMammy · 29/06/2021 15:15

@Sunshine8888 mine was the same as @Trinacham - history over the phone then bloods, height, weight, wee in person. Hoping to hear about my scan date this week as I'm 10 weeks today. Have been signed off work as they've just been totally awful about keeping me safe (in a school with violent kids). I was only supposed to be there 3 weeks more after this one but it feels very odd not being. Have never been signed off anything before! But baby is more important.

mummyh2016 · 29/06/2021 16:44

@decafforme I feel worse this time as well, I felt like I was sick a lot more last time but I was only poorly on an evening whereas this time I feel nauseous all the time but I'm rarely sick. I'd rather be sick than feel it.

feb2022 · 29/06/2021 17:07

@decafforme haha it's 3rd time for me I have 2 toddlers running about as we speak... I'm beyond exhausted I'm not gonna lie, I go to bed when they do at 7:30
Luckily they both sleep through the night but the days are relentless 😂

decafforme · 29/06/2021 20:59

Aw congratulations all!

Oh my @feb2022 I don't know how you do it with two. My sickness has been quite bad, it doesn't feel as bad as last time I don't think but maybe it is, I just feel worse, like actually Ill. It's amazing how quickly you forget the last time though isn't it.

Touchwood I've had a day of no sickness today, that would set me off worrying usually but I had an early scan yesterday and saw baby with a nice strong heartbeat so fx all ok, I'm sure the sickness will return!!

MrsTwentyNine · 30/06/2021 07:07

All appointments for our Trust is face to face and partner has to stand behind the chair!

Any first time Mums here caving in and booking an early scan? I booked one for 2 weeks time when I'll be 8+1. I know there's absolutely no need but I can't wait another 6 weeks 😭

Absolutely! I've already had one at 7 weeks, and will have another next week at 10 before my nhs scan at the 13. I just don't have it in me to wait.

I'd imagine the the theme will continue throughout.

decafforme · 30/06/2021 13:00

Yes @MrsTwentyNine I had one this week at 8+4.

I had early scans on nhs with my dc1 but not this time and I couldn't wait the 12 weeks to find out if all ok. I didn't have any further ones on dc1 after the 12 and 20 week ones on the nhs so hoping I won't feel the need this time either as I may bankrupt myself!

becarefuloutthere · 30/06/2021 13:04

@MrsTwentyNine I'm booked in for two weeks too and I'll be 7+6 and I'm a first time mum. Mine was an ivf pregnancy so it's part of what they do so haven't had to pay thankfully. Bloody nerve wracking!

MrsTwentyNine · 30/06/2021 17:38

@apples2022 @becarefuloutthere @decafforme great to know I'm not the only one!! I'm hoping they can do it abdominally rather than TV but just want to know somethings going on there if I'm honest.

Have my midwife booking appt next week at 7+3 !

becarefuloutthere · 30/06/2021 18:07

@MrsTwentyNine I have my midwife booking in next week too! I'll be 7+2. We're quite close together. Happy for TV or abdominal, same as you with just wanting to know that it's progressing! I'm really tired and weeing more so I know they're usual symptoms at least.

bubblegumunicorn · 30/06/2021 18:28

@feb2022

Hey everyone I'm 5+4 weeks so still pretty early days for me, I'm due around feb 24th this will be baby no3, I'll have 2&3 year old boys when this one arrives (birthdays in December) I'm so exited/anxious it's gonna be tough I know but I do love a challenge 😅
Ah we have the same EDD! I'm looking around the 24th too I've also got a 2 year old but a DD
bubblegumunicorn · 30/06/2021 18:31

@WinsAndNeedles

Feeling quite emotional today. It's probably the hormones, exhaustion and sickness but I can't get a grip on it.

I've started thinking ahead a bit for the first time and it's only just dawned on me that this is going to be a very different pg with Covid restrictions. Does anyone know what the rules are at the moment? Will we have to go to appointments alone, etc,?

I know my local hospital has said we can have someone for the anomaly scan they've been allowing that for a year! You should be able to find out on the hospital website! So it's not all too different just the dating scan I will have to go to alone which is a bit of a shame for DH! But he only came to the 2 scans last time!
Trinacham · 30/06/2021 18:48

Got my scan letter through today! 23rd July. Partners welcome, no lateral flow tests required- Phew! This 3 weeks is going to go so slow.

Sunshine8888 · 30/06/2021 19:26

8 weeks today, a whole month to go, feels like forever. I do have another scan booked for 2 weeks time to break up the wait so hopefully all will be well at that and I can relax a bit more 🤞🏻

mummyh2016 · 30/06/2021 19:28

I've had my badger notes app update to say my scan is on 21st July at 10am, I've had no letter or anything yet though.

MrsTwentyNine · 30/06/2021 19:52

@becarefuloutthere ooo yes we are indeed!

I told quite a few people at work and some seemed quite disapproving that I have announced it so early (I'm 6+1) but surely I should do what I'm comfortable with? Why is there an expectation in society from women around all things especially what 'not' to do....gahh

Good luck ladies with scans coming up!

BristolEm · 30/06/2021 21:19

I got my scan letter through yesterday for 13 July, was really hoping it would be next week. I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks and will be 13 weeks by the time I'm scanned plus haven't had any early scans so the wait has been unbearable! I've tried ringing several times to see if I can bring it forward but no one ever answers the phone.

The letter didn't say anything about getting tested or partners not being able to attend, just said to arrive 15 mins early.

Sunshine8888 · 30/06/2021 21:23

@MrsTwentyNine I have told a few people this time. With my first it was a big secret but this time Ive told people where it’s obvious (I usually love my wine so the not drinking is a big giveaway). Tbh if the worst happened I would want support anyway so don’t see the harm in telling a select few

decafforme · 02/07/2021 15:56

@Trinacham my scan date is the same as you Smile
