Hi all, haven’t posted here in a while, hope everyone is doing ok! We still haven’t really bought anything yet but think we are going to have a look at prams soon now the shops are back open and then I’m going to at least try and get a list together of things that we will need to buy soon. I feel like any bump that I had has disappeared but I’m thinking maybe it was more bloat and that has gone but my actual bump is yet to arrive, I still haven’t had much in the way of movements either so still struggling to believe they are in there at times!

Sorry to read about the house troubles some of you have had/are having. We are hoping that our move will happen before the baby arrives but thankfully we are moving to a house that doesn’t need anything doing to it immediately.

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m really struggling for motivation work wise at the moment, especially with working at home. Feel like you do when you’re working your notice period now, and you find it hard to care because you’re not going to be there in a few months!

lucyrp · 20/04/2021 17:50

@notinthestarsigns I have no cares at all in work at the moment and all of the staffs morale is low so really hating work at the moment! Can't wait to get from there!

LyraShaeLilly · 20/04/2021 18:00

I just popped to M & S for a bra fitting as I don't have a clue what size I should be wearing, the online measurements just didn't make sense and all my bigger bras of various sizes don't fit and dig in!! Ive gone up 2 back sizes and down 2 cup sizes!!! The lovely lady suggested padded no wired which were so comfy and hopefully will be easy to use for BF too!!

I also bought my first set of baby girl clothes!! How much is ok to spend the dress was £8 and two sleep suits were £14. Lady at the till commented on how cheap they were, I just thought they were average baby prices!!

I lack motivation at work also and everything annoys me more than it used to. I think it may be because I am counting down the days to baby girls arrival and can't really concentrate on anything else, and the fact I know I will be gone for a year!!

LottSE20 · 20/04/2021 18:23

@notinthestarsigns I hear you! My movements came only recently and my bump is small - I’m still just feel fat rather than pregnant.

I made the error of taking on a temporary promotion to Director at work for three months until maternity. The department have been really great at championing me for promotion and I didn’t want them to forget about me while I’m away. But I’m really not sure it was wise to give myself with extra stress!! Just need to do what I can and keep it all in perspective. At least the time will go quickly ☺️

notinthestarsigns · 20/04/2021 18:25

@LyraShaeLilly I have no idea at all what bra size I am anymore 🤦‍♀️ I just have a few bralettes/crop tops that come in small/med/large sizes to save me having to guess.

Glad to know I’m not the only one feeling like that at work! Let’s hope the next few months doesn’t drag too much!

notinthestarsigns · 20/04/2021 18:31

Same @LottSE20, I hoped to look a bit more obviously pregnant rather than just like I’ve put on weight by now! We saw the in laws in the garden last week and my MIL was insisting on taking bump photos, which I would have been embarrassed about even if I did have a nice round bump but I was like “no really, please don’t!!”

That’s good that you were not overlooked for the promotion because of being pregnant, obviously you shouldn’t be but I know a lot of places still would even if they don’t openly say it! But yeah hopefully you can keep the stress levels down.

LottSE20 · 20/04/2021 18:40

@notinthestarsigns I hate the request for bump photos! I know people mean well, but it makes me feel really awkward!

lucyrp · 20/04/2021 19:08

I feel really huge compared to everyone else😩

Aug 2021 - half way there!
notinthestarsigns · 20/04/2021 19:13

That’s a lovely bump @lucyrp!

Daffodil21 · 20/04/2021 19:17

@lucyrp lovely bump! Don't worry I'm bigger than you. it's actually come to the point where the stretch marks I got from early on when I was on the meds have started to fade 😂

BertieBotts · 20/04/2021 20:06

No I am definitely huger :o :o :o Don't worry! However I got the MN 23 week email today and it's like "Your bump is about to explode in size!" and I thought dear God I hope not!

I don't know if I have a pic. Will go and take one in a minute.

For whoever is on FB, if you're interested in the topics of breastfeeding or mixed feeding the author of Mixed Up has set up a kind of virtual conference from tomorrow to Friday where you can watch all kinds of talks from various different experts on topics related to birth, newborns, breastfeeding, combi feeding.

@Champson I noticed there is even one about feeding multiples if you were planning on doing any breastfeeding at all (or were just curious!)

You don't have to watch them live, you can watch them whenever suits you but you do need to join the group - I'll prob leave again afterwards.

lucyrp · 20/04/2021 20:16

@notinthestarsigns Aw thank you!

@Daffodil21 omg really ?🤣🙈 i look bigger at different angles and in different clothes !

Daffodil21 · 20/04/2021 20:19

@lucyrp I maaaay even post a pic tomorrow to make you all feel better about yourselves 😂😂

HopefulB · 20/04/2021 20:23

Nice bump @lucyrp, I go through phases of thinking nice neat bump, to OMG where did all that come from! But mostly trying to embrace the new shape - it’s not like my
Pre-pregnancy body was similar to magazine pics, so no reason it should be now!!
Bump measures well, I’ve started to gain weight and feel baby much more, so on the whole feeling a lot more chilled 😀

Work is a bit rubbish, I’m trying to focus on what I need to do to finish/handover projects so that I don’t have a major stress, but people keep throwing curve balls! I had a little COVID cry this morning at the thought of my team having to go through a third wave.

Whatshouldbemyusername · 20/04/2021 20:31

Nice bump @lucyrp Xx

I'm huge too. This was taken on Sunday at 22weeks ☺️

Aug 2021 - half way there!
Ready2020 · 20/04/2021 20:55

Oh don't worry I'm huge! The lady across the road from me keeps saying how big I look every time I see her. Pisses me right off!

I have zero motivation for work. Absolutely zero. What with being pregnant, my sister being ill and moving I'm just impressed I'm not off with stress. To be fair my work aren't pressing me too hard to get things done. But it's still election period in Scotland so things are quiet anyway.

Some good news on the house front is that our buyers are willing to move in a bit later so we won't have to live with my mum for the weeks between houses. Plus I'll still be able to have our trip up to Aberdeen (2 nights in a hotel with a proper huge bath!) to see the in laws.

I'm very much looking forward to getting a bra fitted. I'll be in Edinburgh next week for the dentist and lunch so I'll get one there. I'm using a crappy sainsbury sports bra just now.

Daffodil21 · 20/04/2021 21:04

@Ready2020 good news on the house front. Aberdeen? You won't be too far from me 😀

BertieBotts · 20/04/2021 21:04

Can't get a pic to upload but I swear I am the actual shape of Mr. Greedy Grin :o I just need a pink skintight costume and I can have a party.

Ready2020 · 20/04/2021 21:15

@Daffodil21 my OH is from Buckie originally.

Ready2020 · 20/04/2021 21:16

My bump gets huge at this time of night as I'm generally very bloated. It's not especially comfortable but it's fine by morning. Probably farting loads in my sleep....

Daffodil21 · 20/04/2021 21:17

@Ready2020 yep getting closer!!

biscuitcat · 21/04/2021 08:59

Oh you both have lovely bumps! I'm definitely bigger now, but sadly I don't have the lovely neat bump I was hoping for and instead look like I've just had far too many biscuits 😩 hoping it comes as I'll be upset if I'm like that for the whole 40 weeks!

WolfMother326 · 21/04/2021 09:16

Hello all, hope everyone is well.

@notinthestarsigns I completely have this feeling. I'm finishing up one job and switching to a new one, but I just feel so tired and all I can think about is napping and baby stuff - work is just not my top priority and for the first time in my career I am just doing the bare minimum and do not really mind that!

@PurplePansy05 so glad you got to hear your son's heartbeat and it cheered you up. I had the same experience last week during a cervical check and the dr let me make a video of the heartbeat that I shared with DH and my parents - it made everyone so happy!

I have got a little bump that for me feels really noticeable but its still not super big. Definitely had a lot of ligament discomfort lately and also a whole lot of hunger and fatigue, which makes me think the baby might be in a growth spurt!

Aug 2021 - half way there!
lucyrp · 21/04/2021 09:24

@Daffodil21 would love to see a bump pic from you!

@HopefulB yes definitely I'm just enjoying the opportunity to wear bodycon dresses and skirts when usually I wouldn't dare!

@Whatshouldbemyusername awww lovely! 🥰

@BertieBotts I'm sure you look fantastic as do all of us ☺️

I'm having so much movement now its ridiculous and like some of you say it does make me feel quite ill sometimes 🤢

PurplePansy05 · 21/04/2021 09:39

I am looking very pregnant now, everything has gone into the bump by the looks of it, I'm still the same size everywhere else I think, but need maternity clothes now every day for definite. Breasts are bigger I suppose too, but they haven't really grown in the last few weeks.

I'm not attaching the photo cause I'm too disgusted with the state of this house as it is to share with anyone.

I am surprised that this is how I carry, in some outfits it really looks like a basketball bump now, much bigger than I anticipated. I am actually wondering how big I will get in the next few weeks, I can't see my feet at all which isn't particularly helpful, I find! 😳🤦🏼‍♀️ xx
