Hey ladies - can I please join - got my BFP yesterday and EDD is 11 Dec 21. It'll be my first but DP has an older son from a previous r/ship.
Feel a little overwhelmed if I'm honest and not sure what to do next - do I tell my GP straight away or wait a few more weeks? (CB said 2-3 weeks yesterday)
I'm 34 but spent the last 33 years trying not to get pregnant (!!!) so super excited but realising I don't know much about this first stage! Would love to hear from you all... and join the FB group too if that's okay? Thanks all!!!

May2311 · 05/04/2021 17:25

@CharlyA Hi and congratulations 😊

If you phone your GP and explain it is your first pregnancy so can they tell you how to book in with the midwives. I would do that tomorrow as imagine it will take a few weeks for first appt etc. Different areas do it slightly different - most I think you self refer but some GPS do the referral I think. Also, if your not already they recommend you take folic acid and vitamin d.

Xxxx

Rebsy1991 · 05/04/2021 17:37

@CharlyA congrats!

Yes get in touch with your GP and they will tell you next steps! Mine had all changed since last time, I had to get in direct contact with the midwife team!

We have a Facebook page if you want to join then send me a DM with your Facebook and and what your profile pic is x

Thanks so much @May2311 - will be on the phone to them first thing!
I took Vit D anyway but added Folic Acid a couple months ago just in case but thank you, really appreciate the advice - I don't want to tell anyone so early on (apart from DP of course) so nice to have an outlet/others to ask!
xxxx

CharlyA · 05/04/2021 18:10

Thanks so much @Rebsy1991 - I've just DM'd you xxxxx

Good Evening!

Can I please join this group, congratulations to everyone first off!!

I have just found out that I am about 4 weeks and feeling very overwhelmed. We are waiting a couple of weeks before we tell our families. Any advise or tips !! X x

flowersatthecastle · 09/04/2021 22:11

Congratulations @Pep24!

We still haven't told anyone and time is going slooooowly. The nausea doesn't help Envy

BeastOfBODMAS · 10/04/2021 09:21

Congratulations @Pep24 !
I am 6 weeks today and might tell my family as we’re seeing them later to celebrate my brother’s birthday. Eyebrows will be raised when I arrive with alcohol free beer and decaf tea, it’s definitely out of character Grin
No advice, I am bricking it!

Zooma3 · 10/04/2021 09:44

I was thinking something is definitely wrong with me!! I am normally in bed latest by 11 pm (after falling a sleep on the sofa)and l was awake until 4 am this morning and slept 4 hours and awake again😱😱 and found this website and have been reading other’s stories and feeling a bit better l am not the only insane one🙈🙈 Long journey with IVF and finally it worked(3rd round) and it seems like (hopefully) baby is due 2nd Dec!🙏🙏 Good luck to all of us🙏🙏

CharlyA · 10/04/2021 12:11

Congratulations @Pep24 and @Zooma3 so happy for you both!!!! 🥳

I'm the same @BeastOfBODMAS - seeing my mum and step dad later and going to tell them.

So excited/nervous!! Not sure why as I know she'll be happy for me but still....! We're going to hold off telling the rest of my family until after the first scan I think.

Pep24 · 10/04/2021 15:29

@flowersatthecastle I total agree I'm ready to burst x still not sunk in at all !! X.

Kinsters · 12/04/2021 10:32

Tentatively joining. I'm only 11dpo and due 23rd December. I've got a DD who was one in January and had a miscarriage before her, a miscarriage in January this year and a load of chemicals so I won't be convinced this'll actually end up as a baby until I'm way further along. Tbh if it's going to fail I hope it will be a chemical rather than another dragged out MMC, they're so exhausting.

I'm taking pregnacare plus baby aspirin (I took it with my daughter and that's my only successful pregnancy, plus I read it helps with placenta formation). I also started taking some progesterone I had leftover.

Elizabeth134 · 12/04/2021 16:59

Hi! Can I also tentatively join please! Tested early as felt absolutely awful for the last couple of days. EDD 23rd Dec.
Had a MMC in Dec last year and a 2 year old. Also a previous pregnancy that ended in a late loss of our daughter.
This whole thing feels so filled with hope but also there is also that fear isn’t there.

flowersatthecastle · 12/04/2021 18:23

@Kinsters @Elizabeth134 congratulations Smile Hope your pregnancies stick after your losses. These EDDs are getting ever closer to Christmas!

flowersatthecastle · 12/04/2021 18:23

... I know that's how science and gestation works by the way, I just think Christmas babies are exciting Grin

Kinsters · 13/04/2021 02:19

flowersatthecastle 😂😂 my daughter was due 1st January and I was so worried she'd be a Christmas baby! Now this one is due even closer to the day 🤦🏼‍♀️

Rebsy1991 · 14/04/2021 06:59

Ooo lots of new mummies to be! Welcome @Zooma3 @Kinsters @Elizabeth134 !

Kinsters- praying this is a sticky little bean for you! Have had a few chemicals too so I have been on edge this pregnancy but 6+ 1 now so fingers crossed!

Elizabeth - I’m an early tester too and a compulsive tester I can’t help myself! I hope everything goes well for you! You could have an xmas day baby!!

Zooma- wow this is an amazing story I am so pleased for you! My friend had IVF too so I know how hard the process is! Your amazing! I’m sure everything will be fine!

We have a secure private Facebook group with ladies expecting in December. If you want to join just send me a private message with your full name and what your profile picture is and I’ll add you xx

Hello can I join too? EDD of 18/12 here! I already have DD who will be 5 in December- 2 December birthdays, I must be crazy!!

Did I see there is a FB group? I joined one for DD and still use it and speak to the ladies there Smile

Zooma3 · 14/04/2021 08:37

@Rebsy1991 thank you so much! Has been the hardest thing in my life but finally it worked!

chippedchocolate · 14/04/2021 09:03

Hey everyone - I'm 6 weeks pregnant! We are really delighted but also quite nervous as I was due next month with a little one, but miscarried end October. This little one is due in early December. I'm geriatric (!!) but I'm taking a whole load of supplements and just hoping and praying for sticky dust.

PaigeS96 · 16/04/2021 20:11

Hi guys! Tested on Wednesday very faint line then took another 2 today clearblue digital and confirmed pregnant 1-2 weeks (from conception) so think I’m classed as 3wks 5 days AF due tomorrow. So nervous as had a miscarriage in November so fingers crossed! Hope all is well

PaigeS96 · 16/04/2021 20:15

Forgot to say due date is 26th December 😶

Cocomelon2019 · 17/04/2021 09:23

Good morning ladies!

Tentatively joining if that's ok? I got a faintish positive on a Frer this morning after what we thought was an evap line on a CB yesterday. AF not due until Tuesday so worried about a chemical pregnancy.

We have a nearly 2 year old son, didn't test until AF was late with him so this is a bit new. I had HG and GD with him.

Symptom wise I've had 3 nights of vivid dreams, cramping, trapped wind, couldn't eat my dinner last night and I was sick twice on Thursday morning (though I'm nearly always sick coming up to my period since having my son)

If all goes well I'm due 29th December. I'd love to join the FB group once I get past Tuesday/Wednesday and know about AF, will send a message then 😊 The FB group I joined for my son has honestly been the biggest support, I've turned to them for so many things and we all still chat daily.

Abraxos · 17/04/2021 10:15

Hello, hello, hello!

I'm joining the December due club. Due around the 15th.

I have a 15 year old DD so remember absolutely nothing. I was also 20. At Uni and use to pulling all nighters. Full of youthful energy. I imagine this time around is going to be a bit harder.

Apart from ridiculous heartburn and feeling a little sleepy I'm okay so far.

It is DP's first and he is over the moon (and fussing just a little)

Congratulations to you all!!
