Regarding movement I feel mine more on the sides of my belly just forward from my hips but slightly higher up 🤷🏼‍♀️

Daffodil21 · 17/03/2021 20:34

I just told DH I think I may be feeling some movement today and he put his hand on my side 😂 as in right at the side, almost round to my back 😂😂 he wouldn't have felt anything anyway but it made me laugh!

Inmypjsagain · 17/03/2021 21:37

@Daffodil21 😂 that’s what my DH did too! I said where do you think this baby is?!! Yesterday evening he put his hand on my stomach and I thought he might have felt something and his hand was where the movement was and I could feel the “bouncing”but he didn’t feel a thing. According to Dr Google he won’t be able to feel for another month or so. He’ll never be able to feel if he tries my back again 😂

So I’ve been having a nose at baby things. Handbags are my weakness and I’ve decided I need a baby bag... who knew Dior did baby bags?! So DH said aren’t I meant to get you a push present, forgot about that, might tell him that yes indeed, he is!

PurplePansy05 · 17/03/2021 23:13

I'm bad with exercise too 😳 I have a set of pregnancy exercises from my physio but I did them once and I've been so busy that I forgot about my Kegel exercises too. I need to sort my life out, pronto! The only thing I do every dag is walking, not miles, but at least half an hour. My left hip hurts every day though so I better start doing more 😳

I feel like I need some TLC after the move. Tomorrow is THE day, I'm going to have a hair cut! I'm so glad they've finally reopened 😍 So I took a well deserved afternoon off and I'll have a pamper session afterwards, I'll sort out my eye brows, nails and cover myself and the bump in cream. I can't wait!

Re bags, I'm planning to get something really practical and with a lot of pockets/compartments. I'm terrible for losing things even in the smallest of bags. In my mind I'll go with something matching the buggy, but then I've no buggy yet...long way to go 🤣 xx

Jessicapebbles · 17/03/2021 23:17

@WolfMother326 - sorry for the late reply! I’ve been working.
So I gave birth on a Thursday and about 5/6 days later I suffered really bad constipation which I know can often happen in normal circumstances. However this caused me to flare and I was managed with a 3 week course of Prednisone and went back on Azathioprine. Painful ness lasted a couple of weeks and then it all settled down - I’ve been in remission ever since!

I have to have a section due to my Crohns, are you the same? I have fistulating crohns where my bowel attaches itself to various organs which is why they can’t risk a normal delivery. Equally though they did a great job last time and opened up my previous vertical scar rather than making a new horizontal one which made my recovery great!

PurplePansy05 · 17/03/2021 23:19

Also DH said he could feel him tonight when he touched the bump. My personal theory is that this may have been my pulse - is anyone else feeling it in your bump? But who knows, DH held his hand in the right spot and picked up on it as our son was actually moving. Today is the first day when I can really tell I felt a lot of movement, all over the place. Happy 19 weeks tomorrow, it's flying by 💙🙏 xx

Dia12 · 17/03/2021 23:52

That's great that some of you are starting to feel movements. I'm anxiously trying to pick up any twitches/flutters but nothing still and it's slowly getting me worked up and worried. I'm 19+3....20w scan is on Monday so I'm absolutely bricking it now.

My exercise is poor. I do the odd walk and have been super slack with Kegel exercises. I need to get my act together soon.

WolfMother326 · 18/03/2021 09:38

Thanks everyone for your exercise updates - this makes me feel a little less guilty as it seems we're all in a similar pattern! I am going to keep walking and also will add in some yoga.

@Inmypjsagain your situation sounds very unpleasant - have you talked to the midwife about it?

@Jessicapebbles thanks for describing your situation. It seems like it was really difficult, but great that you've been in remission since then. I asked about needing to have a c section and was told it's not necessary for me unless circumstances change. My Crohns is located in the terminal ilium only - so just at the end of the small bowel, and I've never had a fistula (although I do have a hemerroid, or did in the past, which worries me). My inflammation is actually relatively minor, and I'm hoping the medication will put me in a decent spot for birth and hopefully won't have flare ups, but I'm also prepared that it could happen.

Redskinsucks · 18/03/2021 09:53

Recently I've been doing weight/kettle bell workout for about an hour 2x week. I walk 1- 2.5 hours 2 or 3 times a week and I try and do a bit of yoga once a week. I'm signed up to start pregnancy yoga when my studio reopens in April (only allowed to reopen for pregnancy and rehab classes until may) which imnreally looking forward to as I go back to work and yoga on the same day! I did alot of exercise pre pregnancy though and want to limit weight gain as much as possible so theres less to loose. Its my third baby so I know how long it has taken in the past to loose lol.

I've been able to feel movements for about 4 to 5 weeks now, getting stronger recently especially after 8pm. 20 week scan on the 30th which imnexcited for!

I organised my clothes yesterday so I am putting everything i dont expect to wear u til at least October in my brothers wardrobe at my mums. I can see what I have now and what I need!

Inmypjsagain · 18/03/2021 09:59

@PurplePansy05 hmm, I think your DH could have felt him? Only reason my Dh couldn’t feel I think is the anterior placenta, so it blocks movement from the outside. I’ve read an article saying outside kicks can be felt between 20-30 weeks, I guess this wasn’t kicks but him just moving around? Never know though! I’m with you on a practical bag, tbh I had a look at dior/Gucci/Chloe and they’re very expensive and impractical so I think I should get over my want of a designer one! If you have a big tote already you can get bag organisers to make them more useable!

@Dia12 I know easier said than done but try not to worry, every body and baby is different. I kept thinking I wouldn’t feel anything for at least 20 weeks and what’s considered “normal”’for movement is a span of a few weeks!

@WolfMother326 no not spoken to the midwife, tbh it didnt even occur to me, she’s not usually much help. If anything she’d refer to me the dr but I’m not really sure there’s much they can do?

Daffodil21 · 18/03/2021 10:04

@Inmypjsagain could you have a word with an acupuncturist and see if they have any advice? I went to see one when we were TTC (I was getting desperate. But I actually ended up really enjoyed my sessions!) and she was really good. I went to see her for fertility acupuncture but she picked up that I have a rotated pelvis and scoliosis (minor) and did and suggested things to help. They'll be limited on what they can do as you're pregnant but they might be able to give you some advice?

BertieBotts · 18/03/2021 10:47

I can defo feel from outside some of the time now but DH hasn't caught it in time yet.

Waiting for my appointment/scan! So nerve wracking!

lucyrp · 18/03/2021 11:59

@Redskinsucks my 20 week is on the 30th too!

Inmypjsagain · 18/03/2021 12:53

@Daffodil21 oh that’s really interesting, thank you 😊 I’ve googled and there’s one near me, so I’m gonna give them a call and see what they say.

@BertieBotts hope your scan went well x

PurplePansy05 · 18/03/2021 19:43

How are you doing @BertieBotts?

Daffodil21 · 18/03/2021 19:47

@PurplePansy05 I'm so pleased this has had many more signatures. When I signed it there were only about 30 and I was worried there wouldn't be more!

PurplePansy05 · 18/03/2021 19:54

@Daffodil21 ❤ It needs more advertising, I think! I have zero doubt many, many thousands or millions of parents would sign this! xx

biscuitcat · 18/03/2021 19:54

Thanks for sharing @PurplePansy05, all signed 🥰

I hope everyone is well - I swear I'm more tired now than I ever was in the first trimester! But feeling lots of movement which is really special

MrsB2019x · 18/03/2021 20:16

Thanks for sharing @PurplePansy05, signed. It’s at 60k now 💪

@biscuitcat I totally agree, I am so tired now!!

HopefulB · 19/03/2021 07:06

Morning all!

This is probably me getting over excited/a daft FTM thought/over thinking....

Is anyone practicing with a sling? It strikes me that doing this with a large bump wouldn’t really work, yet I’d like to be reasonably confident for when baby arrives (or will I have time to practice then?!). I’d like to try some from the library before buying so I get something I’m comfortable with, but then wonder if it’s too early?!

Dia12 · 19/03/2021 07:30

I was super confused for a second when you mentioned library! Had to google to figure out there is a sling library @HopefulB!
I'd love to use one, no harm in having a practice before hand.

I finally had a solid nights sleep and it feels amazing.
Trying to keep myself distracted and not let my mind wander too much....just counting down to my scan on Monday. Painfully slow!

lucyrp · 19/03/2021 08:14

Started using a few drops of lavender on my pillow at night which I think has helped with my sleep slightly but still waking at 2-3am which isn't great 😫

@HopefulB I probably won't buy a carrier until baby is here! I had a cheap second hand one given to me last time and never used it and I borrowed a sling from w friend and used it maybe once or twice. However I know this time my OH will want to carry baby in a carrier so may leave it until they're here and we can go to a shop to speak to someone about it. I rather like the baby bjorn carriers though so have been looking for a bargain second hand on facebook

biscuitcat · 19/03/2021 09:08

@HopefulB do you know I'd never even thought to practice before baby arrives! But now you've said it, it seems really sensible. I might do a quick research for where my local sling library is (or tie a couple of scarves together and see if that does the trick just to rehearse with...)

Also in case anyone is interested, the Positive Birth Company hypnobirthing online pack is super discounted today to £12, so if you're thinking of signing up it's a good day for it! (I just did!)

LyraShaeLilly · 19/03/2021 09:11

@HopefulB

Yes I would like a sling too, haven't thought about practicing though, are they really that complicated?

Can newborns go in a sling - do you have to wait for them to be old enough to hold their head?

wimbler · 19/03/2021 09:27

@biscuitcat I was about to post a bout the positive birth company digital pack too! I used it with my first and really loved it. I've repurchased again as £12 is a bargain!
