Hi all could I join. Got my BFP yesterday at I think 12 dpo. Been ttc our first for 19months. My mind is blown. We have a private fertility consultation booked for Thursday 😂.

I’m terrified it’s not true/won’t work out.

Symptoms wise. I normally spot up to 5days before AF and had none this cycle which was a big clue. Woke up at 3.30am today!?! Think just due to excitement. Felt nauseated today and tea doesn’t taste right. Although not sure if I’m making it up in my head.

I have no idea what I’m meant to do next.

Ahh huge congratulations @Rosie189 you must be thrilled that's a really strong line for 12dpo. Once your period is late try and find your local midwife department contact and they will register you if you can't ring your gp and ask for a contact number x

Thank you @mrssunshinexxx. Period should be due tomorrow so will look into it and see if I can call Monday. I can’t believe it. It’s crazy! Such a weird secret to keep too. Felt oddly smug today at work.

twoofusburningmatches · 13/03/2021 13:02

Congrats to all! Am cautiously joining - got a BFP this morning. Last period on Feb 10th, so am about 4.5 weeks I think. It’s my second (DC is 2) and had strong suspicions over the past few days - mostly because I’ve been utterly exhausted and suffering from nighttime wake-ups/insomnia, which I had in my first pregnancy. Had pretty terrible morning/all day sickness/vomiting in first pregnancy so am not looking forward to that again. And honestly didn’t really accept I was pregnant with my first until after that 20 week scan! How is everyone feeling?

Rosie189 · 15/03/2021 12:13

Congratulations @twoofusburningmatches. I’m feeling majorly tired. Otherwise for me it’s still feeling pretty unreal. I’m quite anxious about it not working out. How’s everyone else?

MissDaniB · 15/03/2021 12:40

@Rosie189 in the same boat with anxiety. It doesn't feel real. (Other than the fact I feel nauseous) and so so worried anything can go wrong. I'm checking for blood so many times a day!

twoofusburningmatches · 15/03/2021 14:45

I’m feeling anxious now too - just been told some medicine I was given for a procedure a few weeks back isn’t recommended in early pregnancy. It was probably around conception/just before conception, so no idea what it all means. But it has added to my worries. And GP says to speak to midwife but I have no midwife yet!

In my first pregnancy @Rosie189 and @MissDaniB, one thing I found useful was looking at miscarriage rates by day. That probably sounds mad to some people, but I felt reassured knowing the risk was going down each day. This is what I used - no idea of the quality but the results are tailored to each person: datayze.com/miscarriage-chart currently says my risk of miscarriage is 20 per cent.

Whuut · 15/03/2021 15:43

Hey everyone and welcome and congrats newbies.

I'm really struggling today. DS was up all night last night in pain so I hardly slept. Called in sick to work as I'm just exhausted and work a very physical job. Work is making me anxious, I usually love working but atm I dont even want to go back. I'm just so tired!! Also have a bit of insomnia which I remember from last time and isnt helping matters.

Has everyone got their first appt booked? I havent even heard from my midwife but only 5 weeks so expecting them to contact me in the next few weeks.

MissDaniB · 15/03/2021 15:44

@twoofusburningmatches that's actually helpful! The rate it drops day by day is quite significant isn't it! Thank you 🙂

KLR2019 · 15/03/2021 15:52

Just a little update I have my first scan on Thursday I’ll be 6 weeks 1 day. Fingers crossed everything goes well xxx

Whuut · 15/03/2021 16:09

@KLR2019 How exciting! I'm sure everything will be perfect. Let us know how it goes.

Rosie189 · 15/03/2021 20:40

Thanks @twoofusburningmatches that’s a really helpful resource.

@Whuut my job is a little physical too and also has quite a lot of safety concerns. Will probably have to tell them really early on but there’s been a lot of changes recently and I kinda want to keep it quiet as long as I can.

I’ve still to contact the midwife. Planning to do it tomorrow.

Whuut · 15/03/2021 20:48

@Rosie189 Yeah I also want to keep quiet for as long as possible but not sure if it will be possible.

Rosie189 · 16/03/2021 19:56

I told 2 friends at work today. Will help me keep safe and not have to stress about my safety without talking to boss about it just yet.

Also called and got booked in for first midwife appointment and my dating scan!
How’s everyone doing?

J300 · 16/03/2021 20:47

I think I’m approx 6 and a half weeks now.. but still waiting to hear from the midwife. Going out of my mind now. :( I have told my parents now too. I still don’t have any new symptoms though, just overheating at night and the most unusual dreams and sore breasts.

Whuut · 17/03/2021 18:58

@Rosie189 Oh that's good you could confide in them. I'm worrying about work more and more but think I will try and wait until atleast 12 weeks.

@J300 Oh bless you. Try not to stress, if you are worried about not getting an appt I would just phone to check in with them in a few days.

I've not got many symptoms apart from being a raging bitch 😂 Honestly, I'm more unreasonable than my toddler atm and even I'm finding myself hard to deal with 🤦‍♀️ Also super tired and a bit of nausea but nothing major.

I've told a couple of friends, one of which is also pregnant, and told my mum the other day. I've got the next few days of work which is so nice.

KLR2019 · 18/03/2021 12:10

So I’ve had my scan, baby’s in the right place nice strong heart beat and am actually 6 weeks 4 days not 6 weeks 1 day.

So relived and happy at the moment they did say the pains can be normal just my uterus growing xx

MissDaniB · 18/03/2021 12:45

@KLR2019 so happy for you! ❤️

xRRx · 18/03/2021 13:51

@KLR2019 ahh how exciting ❤️

AthersB · 18/03/2021 13:56

@KLR2019 Aww that's fab! Glad everything is good x

KLR2019 · 18/03/2021 14:45

Thank you everyone❤️❤️ I have a private one booked in for next Friday too, this one my partners allowed to come with me so he will be able to see our little one.

Hope your all feeling okay and everything is good with your sticky beans, My midwife I have got is quite good she said when you self refer yourself they get the referral quicker I have my bloods booked on the 29th and she said we will go from there so for any one waiting I would ring and chase your midwife xxx

J300 · 18/03/2021 18:01

I had my phone consult today but I don’t feel that much clearer about things. I’m due for an appointment on Monday for weight/height/urine sample. But being referred for scan at the 12week stage.... that’s soooo far away!

Great news @KLR2019 for your private scan. How did you go about that? Do you just call and book? Can it affect any appointments with NHS?

mrssunshinexxx · 18/03/2021 19:28

It's only next month @J300 Smile but I feel the same !

OP posts:
KLR2019 · 18/03/2021 19:33

@J300 nope it’s a private scan I rang and booked in to my local one my midwife did say that’s probably your only chance of your partner getting to see the baby for himself is if you book a private scan I no they are expensive but it’s worth it❤️ xxx
