thelady · 05/11/2007 09:20

Kerioke: best of luck!

Insy - I got my pram through freecycle. It might be worth a try anyway, as most weeks there's someone either asking/giving away baby stuff on the bigger lists.

Right: off to finish packing the baby's hospital bag and then I'm ready for this holiday! See you at the weekend at the earliest.

skidaddle · 05/11/2007 09:23

Happy hols thelady!

loucee · 05/11/2007 10:10

Hi everyone

Have a great holiday theLady!

I feel a bit light headed today, no idea why as had a lovely 7 hours night sleep which is rare!

Insy - how upsetting about the mice, I can imagine how upsetting that must've been.

Hi SarahPT

skidaddle · 05/11/2007 10:35

oh yes caz10 - forgot to say, yes it was me saying I was doing too much. Am still doing too much (maybe doing anything at all is doing too much at this stage?!). Hope you are managing to rest as much as possible and in answer to your questions:

  • perineal massage -
yes or no? - think it's worth a go as you're a first timer when, - 35 weeks onwards and with what?!! your thumbs and fingers!! be warned it is supposed to hurt here's a link
  • raspberry leaf tea -
yes or no? might as well eh? when? 36 weeks onwards
  • clary sage -
how much/when?!! during labour?? see here
Neuro · 05/11/2007 10:47

morning ladies! i'm a lazy trollop - still in bed...

skidaddle · 05/11/2007 10:49

neuro - that is just gloating!!

claireybang · 05/11/2007 11:22

Morning everyone.
Kerioke I hope it all goes well, reading what you are going through really makes all my little moans seem pathetic!

Bouncing I hope you feel better soon. Remember lots of sips of tepid flat pop (yum!). It's awful to be ill when pregnant isnt it?

Sorry about the mice Insy (gives me another reason to stay away from the loft!). Thats a real PITA though esp if you were banking on selling that stuff to fund the new.

Feel absolutely awful today, barely slept last night as was so uncomfortable, my bump and legs are all achy and my hips and back are killing me Suspect it is my own fault though as DH had a work event yesterday that we all went to and then dd was getting tired so I took her for a walk along the seafront to get her to sleep-was such a lovely day that I ended up walking far further than I should have done. Dh then had to stay after the event to clear up and I felt really cheeky for not helping so did lots of clearing up too. Ah well, hopefully I'll sleep well tonight and won't be so sore tomorrow!

Neuro · 05/11/2007 11:48

sorry! my back's killing me tho...

Clairey - u should seriously rest up

Bouncingturtle · 05/11/2007 11:57

Feeling slightly better, but not much! Decided to skip work, my boss is going to see my interviewees for me.
Problem is now my lower back, hips and ankles ache - does anyone know if it is safe to use Deep Heat spray?

claireybang · 05/11/2007 11:58

I have serious intentions of going back to bed when dd goes for her nap! Feel a bit guilty-am too sore to take her out or to be down on floor playing with her so am relying heavily on cbeebies this morning. She isn't complaining though!

skidaddle · 05/11/2007 12:10

clairey - how about Mahala for a girl - think it's native American and I think it's gorgeous, probably because the only Mahala I know is one of the most beautiful little girls I know (she's half Nigerian and half Australian)

won't tell you about the little brat of a Xavier I know... (just joking)

skidaddle · 05/11/2007 12:11

oops sorry clairey - meant to post this on that other thread

Amani · 05/11/2007 12:31

clairy, bouncing and neuro - hope you guys feel better soon. Make sure you rest loads.

Clairy at nice walk along the beach - I'd love to be near one to do it! Just had a lovely walk in the cold outside and didn't feel tired after 1/2 hr! (that's a record for me, plus my motivation was to walk to Gregg's and back for some lovely mince pies). Not sure if I should share them with the office or eat 4 myself......

claireybang · 05/11/2007 12:40

I like it Skid! Will offer it to DH this evening.

Have just started an AIBU thread about him incidentally...

Neuro · 05/11/2007 12:40

mmmmm Greggs.

Neuro · 05/11/2007 12:41

almost tempted to get up.

I feel like a teenager today! Not dressed and it's lunchtime. Shocking!

Amani · 05/11/2007 12:50

I'd love to be slobbing around right now, watching rubbish television and eating junk-food...

Amani · 05/11/2007 13:00

anyone seen mm today?

skidaddle · 05/11/2007 13:06

Mmmm yes mince pies sound good (just finished my v. healthy homemade sweet potato soup but it wasn't ever going to really hit the spot!)

No haven't seen MM today

I'm feeling ill too amani - can I have some sympathy too?! [pathetic needy emotion]

Amani · 05/11/2007 13:11

there there skid - I suppose you can have one of my mince pies....

bambino1andbump · 05/11/2007 13:14

Hi all,

I got a new car at weekend, well actullay its an S reg Mercedes A Class and I've named her mitsy! She is lovely.

What should I have for lunch? Nothing is tempting me.

Kerioke - Hope all goes well today and let us know.

We're having a firework party tonight but my puppy is petrified of them. Dd say this to DH but he said she'll be fine. She was so scared last night she was sitting on my lap. (she is a 10 month old lab who isn' exactly small!!) I have got her a new bone and will move her to quiet part of house. Poor thing !

skidaddle · 05/11/2007 13:19

thanks amani - feel better already

becklesparkler · 05/11/2007 13:43

Afternoon all!
Bouncing, to hear you are feeling so rough, not nice at the best of times. So glad that you didn't have to go into work though. Am not sure about deep heat spray in pregnancy but found this info about it. As with most things it is recommended to stay away from it due to lack of research - after all, what pg woman is going to volunteer to be a guinea pig??? Hope you and DH are feeling better soon.
Buzzy, am glad you had a nice birthday and that your scan went well on Friday. Well done for standing up to your consultant too, is great that you can see a different one! Speaking to someone you trust/feel comfortable with is so much more reassuring.
Skiddadle, I say the same to my DH when he comments on my boobs too! He was never that interested when I was pg with the boys but they seem huger this time. He thinks they are funny.
Insy at those mice, it must be gutting and hormones do make things feel much worse than they are (and mice chewing your stuff is pretty bad at any time).
Great new name Thingmajig! SarahPT you can customise the talkboard so you have the 'classic' layout if you can't get on with the new one. I changed mine back!
Thelady, hope you have a great hols!
Claireybang, I am having problems with being too sore to sit on the floor now too, my hip starts to ache almost immediately and then I walk like I am 90 when I manage to get up again! DS2 was really sweet this morning though and brought down his Sally the Sunflower game, he said "here you are Mum, you can reach this without sitting down on the floor". Little honey. Feeling quite guilty actually as he is getting much more cbeebies time than I would normally allow due to having lots of work on and finding it more difficult to get down and play. I wanted this time to be really special for him as he is starting school in January full time .

Wizzska · 05/11/2007 14:37

Hi everyone - can you help me out here ladies? - I've got a pretty acute pain in the right side of my bump today. It doesn't go away, have had it for over an hour now. Don't think I've pulled a muscle, can't think its wind. Baby is still moving. Anybody any ideas?
