mememummy · 13/11/2007 20:30

i mean lol not ush altho i do oops

Shells · 13/11/2007 21:30

oh i'd be interested to know what others think. i haven't ever before, but i know some people do. or at least have a tidy up? god its all so undignified isn't it.

cazzybabs · 13/11/2007 21:33

Well I never did - I did shave my legs though...TBH it is the last thing I cared about. Birth is undignified anyway...poo, midwives sticking fingers up you, blood, really tiding up is the last thing...

mememummy · 13/11/2007 21:35

i have before but i cant see it now :s

mememummy · 13/11/2007 21:37

when i bled at 16weeks i was more worried about the unmatching underwear, im not usually a vain person

Shells · 13/11/2007 21:53

I think inevitably the doctors/midwives have seen it all before and much worse, but you should do what makes you feel better. Its not about being vain.

mememummy · 13/11/2007 21:54

i agree i think u do worry about silly things wen u stressed

mememummy · 13/11/2007 21:58

my friend cred when she was in labour cuz she had a snotty nose

mememummy · 13/11/2007 22:03

ne way peeps my dh is still out with m8s, im goin bed alone gain this week i wouldnt mind but i miss him loads oh well night y'all

buzzybee · 13/11/2007 22:37

On the shaving point, I seriously doubt that the MWs etc even notice one way or the other! I know that plenty of people do though so think its entirely a personal preference.

Morning everyone - back in to work today but only one more day of work til ML starts .
I had a lovely day being a housefrau, DH was impressed with me actually having dinner ready for when he got it, instead of the usual throw something together after we are both in from work! I'm usually a lot more organised dinnerwise, it's just the tiredness during pg that gets me! Didn't go out at all but weather was grotty anyway, had some sofa time watching TV and cuddling my cat!
Oh heartburn is awful, never had it before but get it in spades now!!!!
Sexlife.. err what's one of those then
Hospital bag... will do it next week!
Last week saw MW (coming up to 34 weeks) she did mention that we need to discuss my birth plan. I've also booked a water birth class at my hospital (North Tees) but it is not until 13th December (10 days before my due date!). It does include a look around the labour ward as well. My next appointment is a week tomorrow, so will ask if I'd be able to have a look around before then. They did have an earlier appointment but it clashes with my appointment with the breastfeeding counsellor. Been no mention of AN classes by MW, but then I've told her that I've booked ones with the NCT (which are this weekend!).

cazzybabs · 14/11/2007 07:40

he he - dd2 has just been sick so I am taking the say off to look after...this is after I announced in a big voice "You'll know the reason if I am not in"...oh well

at least the workmen aren't in today (hopefully)

Amani · 14/11/2007 08:18

Morning all,

Hey chocolatepeanut - hope you are feeling better hun. How exciting is it that things might start kicking off soon, got another 6 and half weeks until due date.

Regarding Gaviscon and how pricy it can be, I sometimes use ASDA own brand one which I find just as good but cheaper.

Mememummy - With my previous pregnancy, before going into hospital, I had the quickest shave of my legs and tidied up bikini line (got DH to help me with the latter though!). I know docs and m/w have seen it before, but it just helped me feel a little better.

Cazzy - hope DD2 gets well soon.

Bouncing: MW wrote a note in pregnancy notes that at 34 weeks we were to discuss birth plan. Main concerns are having internal examinations, no students present, want all pain relief options available to me when asked for and a 6 hr discharge (depending on baby's well being)

Wizzska · 14/11/2007 09:26

Morning all.

Am keeping my legs regularly shaved and tidying the old bikini just in case. At 37 weeks now it could be any time. Not sure what a good job I'm doing on the bikini line though, its mostly guess work. I really want to get an eyebrow shape and an eyelash tint before the birth, just for the photos. How vain am I?!! Maybe its my way of salvaging a little dignity after I shit myself in front of my husband and all the other little horrors of childbirth.

Nice late morning today. Have tidied the house up and now am waiting for the homebirth midwife to arrive.

mixedmama · 14/11/2007 09:35

Morning all.

Sorry to hear that some of you are feeling down, hope you all staart feeling better.

Mememummy - go to your GP and get the Gaviscon, thats how i got it. MW is a bloody idiot. Gets on my nerves.

Re: the shaving thing. I normally keep it all clean but have just let it all go this preg and cannot even see it now, so will be enlisted DH help... mainly cos i am thinking hair and blood etc not nice. plus, who knows when it will get done again.

Bouncing - on the back of your post I am going to ask my MW about waterbirth classes and seeing a BF counsellor. she will hate me.

i know Amani watched it but did anyone else watch Eastenders and become hyseterical last night...

Neuro · 14/11/2007 09:40

hi all

Wizzka your post made me laugh so hard i thought i might have induced labour.

as for personal grooming...what i can't see can't hurt me! I'm managing to keep the sides under control, and thinking maybe i'll just slap some Immac on when my waters break. Or maybe i just can't be arsed if things like err shitting myself are going to happen. I don't have a husband/bf to keep enticed. And it's not like i'll be in Sainsburys a month later where a midwife appears pointing 'that's her, the one with the hairy beaver'. God i hope not!

It must be Crude Wednesday

Amani · 14/11/2007 09:58

lol @ neuro

MM - just read on the telly addicts thread the Honey's baby will be ok, but something might happen to Tanya or her baby over the Xmas period.

Neuro · 14/11/2007 10:01

what happened on Benders last night?

I was finishing off Sopranos. REady for Season 3 now.

macdoodle · 14/11/2007 10:04

Blimey you guys are chatty....
Few responses can't remember to who..
NOT packed bag yet - but only 34 weeks today - bit panicked as H is crap at getting things and would dread sensing him home to get stuff - BF would do better
Medical head on - would avoid cocodamol in late pregnancy - almost certainly safe...but equally certainly will constipate you which trust me you do not want if you have a section or an episiotomy

Amani · 14/11/2007 10:30

Neuro - don't want to scare the other ladies on the thread about Eastenders.....

Wish I was at home watching tv....

Having bad morning, had a meeting with mat cover and senior member of staff and the senior member of staff started critising some of the things I do (without knowing excatly what I do) and trying to off load much more work to maternity cover. Made me feel really small. Feel a bit shi!tty want to go home ...

Wizzska · 14/11/2007 10:37

Amani - poor you. You don't need that kind of stress from work at any time, let alone when you're in late pregnancy.

Homebirth midwife says I'm fine, all set for the homebirth plan. 37 + 3 today and the baby's head is partially engaged.

Have been told that semen will ripen my cervix so will have to keep pestering DH. Midwife says it works even if swallowed.

Amani · 14/11/2007 10:39

need to go to the loos and have a good cry...

skidaddle · 14/11/2007 10:41

wizzska - supposed to work better if swallowed!

amani -poor you, try not to listen, horrible woman

macdoodle · 14/11/2007 10:43

Oh Amani don't let them get to you - pregnancy hormones not helping ..just ignore them and look forward to being off with LO on the way
Lots of politics at my work too (and I am full partner) lots underhand comments about me being off making me feel bad "busiest time of year" oh sorry then I'll just wait till summer to have my baby ...Just counting days now but manager suggested I might want to pop in with baby to our wed meetings "so no decisisons are made without you" bloody great!!! Gonna go get my boobs out and BF OPENLY in our business meeting [gri]
