Congartulations Kerioke!!!! Glad the little one is doing well and you sound so much better now!

Skid did you see your waters/wee thread made it onto mumsnet news? Fame!

We havent got a moses basket this time but am always a bit when people say their lo outgrew it at 2 weeks old or whatever. DD was fairly dinky but would have fitted in it for a good few months if she had ever agreed to sleep in it. I suppose it depends on whether your LO likes being cosy or having space to sleep as to how long they 'fit' rather than just their actual size.

The thing that makes me really angry though is when people insist that their LO is too big for the infant carseat at 4 months old and put them forward facing-at least get a bigger rear facing one for gods sake!

macdoodle · 11/11/2007 13:58

Well done Kerioke our second preemie - sounds like you did amazingly well!!!!!

claraquitebignow · 11/11/2007 14:36

Congratulations Kerioke and welcome to Logan - glad to hear everything has turned out so well. That's a really good size for his age - wonder what he would have weighed had you gone to full term
Bet you can't wait to get him home.....

loucee · 11/11/2007 15:43

Fantastic news Kerioke!!!

Well done and congratulations on the birth of Logan.

Clairey - I totally agree, it's far safer to keep the baby in the rear facing seats as long as possible.

Nbg · 11/11/2007 15:49

Well blimey!

Massive congratulations Kerioke
And what a healthy boy you have weighing in at 5lb 7oz.
Well done to you and welcome little Logan Vann.
Fab name!

I just wanted to come on to say that one of the other community MW's has just nipped round so she could double check position of baby.
He is well engaged she said and not much chance of him popping out either as he is so far down
I am soooo pleased its untrue!!!

Oh and his back is on the left side too.
He must really love his mummy already lol.

macdoodle · 11/11/2007 16:22

Am seriously reconsidering my plan if having the builders start the mammoth task of moving my kitchen from 2nd story (town house) to the ground floor - after H spent morning clearing space in the garage I have just spent a few hours making a start on clearing 10 years of junk from our rarely used bottom floor and am shattered....it is just we are really going to need the room only 3rd small box room on top floor which will be babes....so at moment no space to house my mum/dad/sister who will all be staying at various times after babe is born ....everyone says I am mad but will it really be better after LO is born it will be noisy and dusty (knocking walls down skylights etc) when they just may finish before xmas and due date.....oh dear brain so tired can't think.....

Bouncingturtle · 11/11/2007 16:35

Kerioke - Congrats! Glad to hear that Logan and you are safe and well!! I agree good weight, probably would have been a 10 pounder if he'd gone full term
NBG - awww that sounds lovely, and I guess now you can relax now lo is ready to go!
Macdoodle - sounds like a lot of hassle for you, but probably best to get it done now before lo arrives. I guess it'll drive you bonkers while it's going on, but at least you'll be around to make sure the builders aren't slacking crack that whip, girl!

MamaMaiasaura · 11/11/2007 16:42

Kerioke huge congratualtions from us in the awen clan here. Cant believe time has flown so fast. Saw you were 34 weeks, scarely close to that now myself. What a gorgeaus name too and a good size. Glad to see he is feeding well and may be home with you soon. Read the lack of help you were getting from the hospital re them telling you that you werent contracting. Thnk that is really bad but at least all well in the end.

Cant believe that lots of you ladies are already nearing officially 'term' . Did i read right that another one of the december ladies have had their baby already?

I am really rubbish at keeping up atm, not just here but on Jan thread too. I tend to hover here but post more there as due 31st Dec. DP off to Japan next weekend when i will be 34 weeks and wont be back till am 36 weeks!

Sending lots of hugs to everyone xx

suey2 · 11/11/2007 17:05

Congratulations Kerioke!
Guess you will get ahead of all of us on the abdominals then
I am SOOOOOOOO jealous, even though I don't have a room to put my LO in yet.
Fantastic, fantastic news.

Ambi · 11/11/2007 17:52

Am a bit worried about tomorrow, think I'm gonna be sat on here all day. DH is going back to work after his week off and I've got everything upto date, what am I gonna do now?
Hmm think I'll sky+ loads of tat and rot my brain, am also thinking of taking up baking - could be a disater, but biscuits will defo come in handy. Am loving the Due in Nov reading as they are popping away, so close for us now.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 11/11/2007 18:54

Macdoodle
I am living with the builders in (they have been here on and off since we moved in March)
I am due in 3 weeks and the kitchen is finally being installed next week!
Its been awful and the house is such a mess that my nesting instinct is pushed to he limit.

Anyhow if baby is on time everything will be done and it will be lovely but right at this moment I am seeking sanctuary in my bedroom which is finished.

Feeling very tight around the ribs and have to keep taking bra off. Also can only eat v snmall amounts as it just comes straight back up
anyone else suffering?

Housemum · 11/11/2007 18:55

Congratulations Kerioke

Awen - can't believe your DP is off to Japan - I've been paranoid all weekend and DH was only in Portugal for 3 days! Every twinge has had me worried! (good excuse to do sod all though...)

Moses baskets - they usually last 2 - 4 months - I think lots of people get into competitive mum mode - "oh, mine's outgrown it already" - as if they had just passed their GCSE in Mandarin or something! (Note to all first-timers - don't rise to their bait! There will always be a few mums who slip in the sly comments to make you feel insecure eg "oh, isn't he rolling over yet?", "do you really use a dummy?", "well, I've never had a colicky baby" etc etc)

cazzybabs · 11/11/2007 19:12

Have we all got th ebuilders in and are haivng new kitchens???

My house is horridly dirty and I don't have any energy to clean - neither does dh .

I have also got a cold today - took all my energy to cycle in to town and buy maternity pads...still I have nappies, pads and breast shields and have found the box of baby clothes....I am ready (although not for a home birth).

buzzybee · 11/11/2007 20:57

wow Kerioke that's great news. Pants about the way the MWs and hospital treated you but you must be so thrilled to have little Logan. Hope the paedeatric consultants listen better!

chocolatepeanut I have given up wearing a normal bra altogether - just wearing tank tops with shelf bras, much more comfy. I'm lucky though that I'm not huge up top.

Also with you on the eating front - really p*ssed off at how little room LOs' left me for food Can't eat more than about half a sandwich at a time and even then have to make sure I don't slouch (or worse lie down) for the next 1/2 hour after or get really bad reflux.

The only upside is that I was 84kgs 3 weeks ago and am now 83kg!

Have decided to tell people my leavind date is 14 Dec to stop the questions. That's 1 week before my DD. As far as work's concerned I will still be "working from home" (assuming LO hasn't come yet!) but don't think anyone will notice much in that final week before the Xmas break. Friday 14th is also the work Xmas party (lunch) so would be nice to be able to hang in for that!

Room for a little one ? I've posted on here a couple of times and have been doing some lurking. I'm due on the 28 of this {arghh} of this month but have a strong suspicion he'll be late. He seems to making himself most cosy in there.

Sounds like there are agood few of you having building and decorating done. I think you are v brave - I get traumatised if Dh puts the can opener in the wrong drawer at the mo.
