MM - sorry your poor little ds has been ill, hope he feels better soon.
ClairyB - that's a lovely bump! I just get the "God, you HUUUUUGGGGGEEEEE" comments, like Beckle (7 weeks to go for me too!). And your ds is a cutie pie
Hey to everyone else, see there is no news as yet from Kerioke, I think she was due to see the consultant today?
Skiddadle - wow sounds like you had a bit of a fright! So they can't actually tell you what the discharge was?

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 06/11/2007 20:54

Hi everyone

Re the bumps.I have always had 'oh my god,you cant have that long to go!" then the other week a lady in the supermarket told me I was very small for dates.

Its all nonsense. You can be small and have a big baby and vice versa.

I saw midwife today and she said head is fixed. As its my third she said it might not engage till last minute. She also said Braxton Hicks get stronger with subsequent pregnancies as the stomach muscles are weaker so you feel them more

Anyhow the bags are packed but as I am STILL without my new kitchen he just cannot come early...

becklesparkler · 06/11/2007 21:30

Clairey, your bump is perfect, all neat and tidy! Your profile has gone because of your name change but there is a bit in your 'My Mumsnet' section called profile mover which changes your profile between names.
Skidaddle, omg what a scare this morning! Hope everything okay!
Suey I used a sheet in the carrycot but not in the buggy.

becklebigbump · 06/11/2007 21:32

Loving the name changes by the way - here is my offering!

buzzybee · 07/11/2007 01:01

Hello all!

Skidaddle - sounds like you need to keep in close contact with your MW! Hope all's well now.

I went to see the "new" hospital consultant today and OMG the difference. I suspect there was an element of compensation going on for the way I was treated by the other consultant but he was so nice!! We discussed risks etc in a very open way and they are still concerned there may be a bowel issue causing the high amniotic fluid but he also thinks its just as likely to be "nothing". No evidence of heart defect at today's scan yay!! So will def need to have baby in hospital so that paedeatrician can check her over as soon as she's born and could be there for up to 3 days for checks - good to be prepared for that.

Have posted a gorgeous picture of her to my profile (3D).

Buzzy - that is great news, glad this consultant is a lot more sensitive than your other one, and the pic is fab too!
Another sleepness night for me... it's practice for when lo arrives!

buzzybee · 07/11/2007 07:57

Thanks Bouncing. I cn hardly believe that just over a week ago she had me convinced of the worst (so to speak) based on actually very flimsy "evidence" which has been almost completely dis-proved. When I look back to her "I have bad news, your baby appears to have a heart and bowel defect which are both classic to D/S" speech I can hardly believe it.

Anyway onward and upward!! And am looking forward to finally enjoying the last 6 weeks of my PG (or 4 weeks or whatever it turns out to be). Going to see a week old baby this weekend which will be guaranteed to put me in a good mood!

Morning all

Buzzy - good to know you had a better consultant and about the scan.

mellymooks · 07/11/2007 08:41

Cazzybabs has encouraged me to join the thread even though late in the day and feel a bit shy like I'm gatecrashing! I'm due 7th Dec, hoping for home birth, can't see my feet and putting my socks and shoes on is getting harder by the day!

Amani · 07/11/2007 08:49

Hi Mellymooks and welcome!

mixedmama · 07/11/2007 09:30

Hi Mellymooks...

quiet here this morning.

Amani · 07/11/2007 09:33

am off soon anyway, so looking forward to watching some rubbish tv and feet up.

mixedmama · 07/11/2007 09:40

So jealous but you rest up hun.

Amani · 07/11/2007 10:03

MM - how is ds?

mixedmama · 07/11/2007 10:18

Still not 100%. He didnt sleep well last night... mainly cos DH woke him up and then he was fidgeting, so actullay he slept ok I didnt sleep ok as I had to keep covering him up and stuff. But much better on the whole.

Wizzska · 07/11/2007 10:56

Morning everyone.

Hi Mellymooks, I'm due on 2nd and also hoping for a home birth. Lets hope we manage it without too much drama.

Can't believe I'm still dragging myself in to work. I think I should have given myself an extra week. Could do with finishing this week, but still have a whole week before ML to work.

Buzzy, so glad you've got better news this week. It must have been doing your nut - you don't need that kind of emotional roller coaster at this point in pg.

mixedmama · 07/11/2007 10:59

Wizzka - I think a sicky is in order or have you got too much to do?

Wizzska · 07/11/2007 11:13

Good idea Mixedmama - but my temp has gone on a sicky today and possibly tomorrow. In fairness she has a stinking cold and doesn't want me to get it. I think I've fought it off already as I had a bit of a stuffy nose over the weekend but its better now.

I think I'll just spend more time on mumsnet and just do a few easy jobs. Have been pretty flat out recently, hardly had time to view everyone's posts.

At antinatal class yesterday the teacher said from 36/7 weeks we should sit up properly to tilt our pelvic bones forward so the baby can engage in the right position or we should lie on our left side. I've been lazily slouching in totally the opposite fashion so today I'm looking all prim and proper - upright with perfect deportment. Thank goodness the baby hasn't engaged the wrong way yet - I hope!

Amani · 07/11/2007 11:22

Hi Wizzska - you are still going into work....
MM - good to know DS is better.

Ohhh wanting some more mince pies again....

Amani · 07/11/2007 11:23

I find it hard to sleep on any of my sides now as it feels like my bum is being squashed. I put lots of pillows around me and lie half on my side/back.

mimicakey · 07/11/2007 11:54

I'm really struggling with this new format!! If you flip the thread so newest is first (which surely everyone does?!) and then go back a page, it unflips!! It's too confusing I'm afraid. So I'm only ever reading to the end of the page we're on now and I'm missing out on news Ok, that's the end of my grumble.

Had a lovely time at the spa last week and I'm now on the count down to finishing work! Only 3.5 weeks to go, yay!

Might pop out to get a choc bar now to tide me over until lunch...

Wizzska · 07/11/2007 12:07

Mimi - I agree, I hate this new format, am totally confused most of the time (preggy brain?). I thought it gave the option to go to mumsnet classic so have tried to set that up a few times but it always reverts back (grr).

mimicakey · 07/11/2007 12:13

I don't think it's us Wisska, it doesn't work very well.

Good work on the sitting up straight, I'm trying to do that too. It's another good reason for continuing to work really - if I were sat at home I'd be vegged out in front of the telly probably!

claireybraxtonhicks · 07/11/2007 12:48

Ah Beckle you are full of useful information!

Wizzka if you stay logged in then it stays in classic mode but as soon as you log out and back in again it changes-ok if you are not on a shared computer i suppose!

skidaddle · 07/11/2007 13:30

hi everyone and welcome meelymooks

I am having the day off today as I have the most horrendous cough which keeps me awake until at least 2 in the morning and has made me vomit it's so strong went to the doc today and he gave me some antibiotics so hopefully that will help..

buzzy - fantastic news and great your new consultant is so good - it makes such a difference, doesn't it? Fantastic pic as well

mimi and wizzska - I went to customise your options and put it to new messages first - it doesn't go back everytime you log off that way

MM sounds like your ds is on the mend

suey - your house sounds lovely - I've always loved those tall skinny townhouses

claraq - what do you think about all these goings on in Pakistan - will it affect your decision?

am really liking all these new names but can't think of one for me - any suggestions?
