Jenwish - best to do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Also I had an epsiotomy and I had to walk all the way down a long corridor just to get a cup of tea that morning. Can remember it was a long and painful walk. No bed-side service at hospitals!!

Hi all

sabinar, I am planning a home birth too, just because it feels most natural. People keep saying I am "brave" which I find really quite annoying, as it is perfectly safe for a straightforward pregnancy.

Have started to stock up on the less glamorous gear like maternity pads, disposable knickers and the pads you can put under the mattress in case your waters break and under you when birthing. Have also started packing a hospital bag just in case for emergencies. Nearly 28 weeks, I am a bit of an anally retentive organiser.

Any recommendations for big size nursing bras? I am G now , grew two sizes in the first three months so slightly terrified of what it will be in the end.

MamaMaiasaura · 03/11/2007 21:43

madmouse I am a G cup too, been that since pre this preg. Just gone up a back size to 36. Am actually going to be a bit naughty as seen underwired in blooming marvelous but it only goes up to an F so going for a 36F and see if it fits probably wont but giving it a shot. Basically the idea of non-wired is a real problem for me as I dont want saggy (ier) boobs. Although there was another non wired in BM that looked like a possibility. Both of them £30 a pop tho!

If you locate any decent ones, please tell me

Jenswish · 04/11/2007 16:53

Try this!!

I just did it and it predicted I was having a boy!! hahaha. I don't believe any of it but its a bit of fun.

ayrshirelolo · 04/11/2007 17:04

Hi guys!
Sorry can't do a monumental catch up like the awesome Mrs McJ... but sending hugs to you all anyway!
Triplets and twins.. have all my bits crossed the scan shows loads of growth tomorrow, please let us know how you and beenies are. We are all here to suppport each other come what may, although i'm kinda new to this i think that's what MN is all about. Sending you a cuddle anyway..
hope everyone had a nice weekend, i have to sayi'm going back to work tomorrow for a rest! Friday afternoon i had to drive to go and pick up my stepdaughter (who lives in Edinburgh) after i finished work in Glasgow (2 rush hours and the M8.. fun!), then drive us both back here to deepest Ayrshire, then Saturday night i was out for dinner with my mum, sister and mum's friend (mum's b'day) and guess who was driving? Yup! Dropped the last off at quarter past midnight on the south side of Glasgow then had a half hour drive home! and they were all totally trashed and kept apologising for keeping me up so late which i appreciated the first time they all said it but got a bit wearing after a while...dontcha just love driving hammered relatives home? Think we are entering the season..
Anyway, dh is away to take stepdaughter back to Edinburgh, dd is having a nap, and i'm just about to start eating chocolate! Sorry for ranting, ta for being there folks! lolo xx

fruitful · 04/11/2007 19:28

Hi all, I've escaped . 2 days at home and I am completely exhausted, and finding it very hard not to do too much!

Triplets&ts, I'm praying your babies are growing right and that they can see that on the scan.

sabinar · 04/11/2007 19:34

yay fruitful, that's great news!
make sure you work very hard at not doing much

eh. I'm trying to get my work finished off for tonight so that I can get packed up - have to head off to a conference in Berlin tomorrow morning. Last time I'll be going OS before LO arrives I think. I'd just as easily stay home to be honest!

Hope you all had relaxing weekends... well, as much as possible.

LilyLoo · 04/11/2007 19:52

Evening ladies
Good luck with scan tandt
I having a homebirth too Sabinar and getting all the ooh your brave comments. TBH i am looking forward to it much more knowing i haven't got to endure the stay in hospital and even more so knowing i will have dp's help right from the word go.
Hope everyone else ok looks like i just missed your magical round up mrsmc as i cannot get these pages to go back one so only caught the tail end of it at the bottom of this page. Can anyone help as you ladies really do talk too much for me to keep up
Thanks
Well have got all the baby cot stuff etc. out of the loft and it was a good job as a couple of screws had gone missing so have re ordered them.
Have also satrted stocking up on the towels and breast pads and just informed dp that we will need a torch or an angle poised lamp. He looked very impressed

madmouse · 04/11/2007 21:32

Awen I am allergic to underwires, sooo uncomfortable, cycling over Oxfordshire roads in underwires leaves me with bashed ribs. I always wear M&S maximum support bras without underwire and they are great, but don't come much bigger than this and are obviously not nursing bras.

Oh well. I am sure we will find something to fit.

Fruitful, so pleased that you are home because that is where you want to be, but please please take care of yourself and forget thoughts about housework, lifting things etc.

Sabinar have a safe trip to Berlin.

gingeme · 04/11/2007 21:53

Welcome home Fruitful take it easy and enjoy your stay. x
Love it that all you ladies are having home births. I had a home birth with my last baby and it was a very positive experience. Though I wont be having one this time as I want a water birth and have been told I cant have one in our flat as our floor may not bare the weight.
Tripletsandtwins when is your next scan? I realy hope all is well with your twin and he plays catch up real soon.
We went to a halloween do yesterday afternoon and my boys just loved it. Much more for their age this time. Took them to the park this afternoon. I felt quite breathless this time. Bloody freezing too.
Well thats about it for now.
Goodnight all xx

Amani · 05/11/2007 08:18

Hope all is ok with everyone, babybel was stuck under my right rib (bum or foot) and moved on the train this morning to the other side...Very strange sensation with a complete move! Does give my rhs a rest though...The kicks and movements are taking my breath away sometimes now though!
Hope everyone is well, tripletsandtwins let us know how the scan goes, thinking of you xx

gingeme · 05/11/2007 09:28

Morning Beller and all you other ladies
Yeah Im ok. Babay was doing some funny moves this morning too. Definately felt a bottom push up under my ribs. My 3 year old felt it and found it very funny.
Dh is going out to buy my birthday presant today. Should be interesting to see what I unwrap tommorrow!
I have opened my own account on ebay. Ive been sorting some of my jewelery out to sell. No were not that poor just some of my costume jewelery I used to wear when I had a social life. Selling some of my maternity wear too that I bought in the summer. Like 3 1/4 length trousers and a dungaree dress.
I have done most of my Christmas shopping now too. Just my Mum and Sis and Bro in law to get. Oh and DH. Bidding on a Fireman Sam remote control fire engine for ds3. Dont think Ill win it though keep getting outbid and I dont want it that desperately.
Well better get the washing in the dryer.
Any desicions on our next meet up? x

madmouse · 05/11/2007 09:42

Morning all

Triplets andtwins thinking of you.

Woke up 5.15 from baby hiccuping (either that or kicking to a metronome ), so I turned over to see if that would help, it did, but then he was properly awake and started squirming!

Beller, my babbit's favourite spot seems to be under my right rib, my bump is higher there too sometimes. Yesterday in church it felt like he had one foot on my hip and his head under my rib and stretched! I ended up jumping up and down in the pew making dh laugh, but he made it impossible for me to sit still! Can't mind too much, he is obviously happy in there!

Amani · 05/11/2007 09:46

madmouse - same here - always get loads of movement on the rhs just underneath ribcage and in pelvic region but never on lhs.

MamaMaiasaura · 05/11/2007 09:51

Morning all

Fruitful - Welcome Home but... take it easy

Amani - poor you with upset tummy. Hope you are feeling better now.

Gingeme - how exciting, didnt realise your birthday tomorrow!

Had busy weekend saw 2 firework displays and also walked a fair bit. Sorry if tmi but my private area is really painful and achey more so towards end of the day. Also starting to swell up alot in the evenings and pins and needles. (not mentioning the sweating ) ooooo the joys pregnancy DP said he doesnt understand why so many women want babies when they have so many side effects, said that I really dont mind these side efect as all worth it He said, that will be why men dont carry babies then lol!

Went to see Stardust yesterday, was fantastic Also got bits for baby & we bought babies first teddy (chosen etc by ds1), ds1 ended up with a matching one

Amani · 05/11/2007 09:56

Awen - cheers hun, feel like it's a norm now to have constant stomach issues and lack of sleep. Was up early on Sunday too and got a whole weeks worth of cooking done by 9.30am!

Can I ask a quick question: has anyone noticed that the movements aren't as strong as before? Previously I was getting really strong kicks but now I can feel them but they just aren't that strong.

OP posts:
MamaMaiasaura · 05/11/2007 10:00

Amani - Actually glad you said that as baby hardly moved during fireworks. He is moving still, can see and feel arms legs etc but they dont have the same force. Thinking this is because space is limited. We are due around same time so perhaps this is normal.

Amani · 05/11/2007 10:05

Cheers Awen. Was thinking about the limited space as well, plus seem to be getting a lot of streching pains again.

OP posts:
beller · 05/11/2007 10:21

amanai..mine have got stronger if anything..but like madmouse...sometimes is feels like its trying to stretch or kicks its way out!?

Gingme - hope you get what you want tom x Dont think there has been any date agreed for next meet?

Awen - your side effects dont sound nice! Hope they ease up xx

madmouse · 05/11/2007 10:39

I am 28 weeks tomorrow and I would say I am getting more movement, but less defined kicks. I guess he just has less space to aim before kicking , except when he is lying so that he can try to kick his way out of my right side .

I would not worry as long as you feel lots of movements, whether kicks or not.

Neuro · 05/11/2007 10:44

Morning ladies
Yes Fruitfal MUST RELAX.
Re movements - I think around 29/30 weeks I felt a bit worried as tummy movements slowed down, and then someone pointed out less space. But this weekend goodness me, he or she is trying to make an exit via my ribs on the right. Even though i've stopped expecting to sleep properly i'm enjoying going to bed and trying to work out which part is which. Last night was first night where i thought that i could feel a foot. Only briefly. So lovely!
Blah blah blah.

Neuro · 05/11/2007 10:45

Amani - i did have same worries as you, but gone now as movements really quite strong. Eeeek not long now!!

madmouse · 05/11/2007 11:19

Neuro what is the blah blah blah about? Not as if you were waffeling?

susiemj · 05/11/2007 11:34

Morning ladies, Lovely to hear about all your movements! This morning I was doing my roll-over bit to the side of the bed when DH said Stop! Move your hand! The babe had moved all to one side so he could see her bum sticking out of my side. He was very excited. I know what you mean about the full roll movement Beller, It feels to a bit like I've turned to one of those toys that uses sand as ballast. But the sand has a mind of its own of course.

Well done for escaping Fruitful .Hope you are sitting down.

All my friends are suddenly getting pregnant! Until recently only three have even had children now there are loads of newbies with me! Hitting 30 (34 in my case!) is a marvellous thing. Tick tock tick tock....!
