mixedmama · 30/10/2007 15:46

Mothers are not allowed to be there with us either,.... hence the reason for the Kirve. Luckily, DS1 has already been done as he had less foreskin so got done in hospital and we will just have to see what happens with DS2, but we will be having a massive party etc in Turkey when they are either 5 and 3 or 7 and 5.

mixedmama · 30/10/2007 15:56

Ok had a look through for dates for meet up (sorry non london ladies to hijack again)

29 November
Mixedmama
Lulubump will be in London

19 November
Mixedmama
Fluffymummy
beller ???

Gingeme is waiting for DH dates for work and Barristermum, Nicky6 and Toomanyshoes arent about to ask. Battymama, did you have a preference. Also Neuro is down early Dec or late Nov.

Earlier in the month means that Lulu cant come and Fluffy cant come and I cant relaly come, but if that is better for eveyrone else then we can go with that.

sabinar · 30/10/2007 16:34

mixedmama - I think you are v brave taking on the organising

at this stage, I could potentially make the 19th, but I have my NCT clases on Thursdays from this week on, so the 29th is not good for me.

my schedule is hopeless though, so I don't want to influence the decision making as things could change anytime.

mixedmama · 30/10/2007 16:37

will add you sabinar

beller · 30/10/2007 16:39

I can make the 19th....29th not good for me as i will be singing my little heart out to Take That.. (sad cow i know!)

nicky6 · 30/10/2007 16:44

oh my goodness miss one day and the whole worls has changed.

I have changed the screen back to the way it was before it was driving me mad all these different pages.

Just had message from one of my best friends who had a little girl this morning poppy charlotte, she is delighted as has 2 boys already. Even with emergency c section etc etc etc.

beller me my mum and sis did take that at milton keynes last year was fantastic fun, we were going to go to spice girls but dates a bit near my due date and dh has said not allowed - very annoying.

been working v hard, cant believe some of you about to start maternity leave as I am about to start my murder case!!! ANyway hopefully will be finished by christmas

Have bought the baby whisperer book and read a bit - some of the ideas seem alright.

beller next weeks heroes is absolutley brilliant so dont miss it. Definitely go to dinner inlimo - worse case scenario is you have to get a cab or cant go.

Dont have diary to hand , angel is definitely better for me, i live se21 so wood green is too far sorry. ANgel perfectly doable though will just need to check dates.

Hope everyone is feeling betterxx

beller · 30/10/2007 16:49

oooooh so are you one ahead of me now Nicky on Heroes? Ill have to wait to watch it on saturday, so i dont get nightmares..althought wouldnt mind the dreams mrsmcspooky gets

gingeme · 30/10/2007 21:15

Good evening ladies. Not sure if the peppermint tea worked as I felt quite sick after I drank it and havnt felt too brill all day today.
My friends niece had her first baby on Friday and she visited my neighbour yesterday and was invited up to give the baby a cuddle. She was 5lb 8ox full term and she is like a little dolly. With a very good pair of lungs on her. Beautiful.
beller I watched that this morning too and I thought it was a bit much to keep baby in for 3 weeks. Again it depends on how you feel and also how cold the weather is. I know Im going to have to take baby out before then simply because once dh goes back to work Ill have to take ds3 to nursery every morning.
beans been very active today. Not sure why but I know its not doing my back any good.
Anyway Ill let you know about that date as soon as I know.
Take care ladies xxx

ayrshirelolo · 30/10/2007 22:21

Hiya everyone! Good grief, this thread moves fast! Have too much preggy brain to do a Mrs McSpooky and give everyone a mention, so will just say a general "hello" to you all!
I have one of those full body pillows too.. although haven't got a name for it yet, but i do LOVE it, bargain in Lidl (or was it Aldi) about a month ago - best 12 quid ever spent!
Sleeping is a bit pants just now though with all the pee trips and waking up every couple of hours. I remember this happening with dd and everyone telling me "ah! just wait till baby's here, then you'll know what tiredness is!!" Load of rubbish. Ok, with little one you only get to sleep for maybe 4 hours at a stretch, but it's REAL sleep , and you have perfect reason to nap during the day without work, etc. IMO late pregnancy is the worst - early motherhood much more fun!
Christening - we had a welcome to the world party for dd complete with giant cake, toasts, speeches etc and it was brilliant (although she howled throughout - v unlike her!). I was glad we did, as my dad was at it and have some nice photos of him holding her (once howling stopped!) He died in early Feb this year (yup, if i'm a week late we're looking at anniversary....not sure how i feel about that but too late now...)but really glad we did party. Reckon we'll have to have another for this bump, but probably wait until the spring / summer and make it a BBQ.
I'm planning on having 9 months off as i work for a local council with a fab mat policy - they have changed it since last time when i had to go back after 5 months but we'll see how it goes financially!
Hope those of you feeling rubbish begin to feel better, i have m/w tomorrow, not sure when she'll see me after that but will let you know what schedule i'm on!
Sorry for the mammoth epic post, i expect little and often is better but i'm still learning!
lolo xx

beller · 31/10/2007 07:53

Gingeme - Thats what i thought, if s/he does come early, then would only be wrapped up in car seat..thena nother house...so im sure it will be fine

Hi Ayrshirelo, must admit, im fed up with people saying that about "ohhh wait til jan..you wont get any sleep...."
Maybe i just have ignorant bliss at mom..but im sure you must get some x

Amani · 31/10/2007 08:19

Morning all,

How are you ladies today?

OP posts:
gingeme · 31/10/2007 08:51

morning ladies. Not too bad today thanks Amani and you?
Had a weird dream about dh killing three people and disposing of their bodies so we can get a 4 bedroom house off the council. Think it was to do with that programme I watched Sunday night.
Dh goes for his op today. Poor loves hungry but not allowed toeat anything. His Mums picking him up from hospital later. Even when theyre grown men they still need there Mums
Well not much planned here today.
Ive circled some bits in the Argos catalugue so dh has a choice for my birthday
Have a good day all xx

Amani · 31/10/2007 08:59

Hi Gingeme,
Am ok thank you - had a another better night sleep, although I woke up about 1am as DH had left tap running in the bathroom and it was running too much for me to ignore, so had to get up to turn it off.

All the best with your DH operation.

Lol at your dream - I had a dream last night that I had an argument with my work colleague and we were using some pretty bad swear words at each other . Also dreamt that we had a baby boy - we shall see!
Ohhh, what sort of things have you selected from the catalogue?

OP posts:
beller · 31/10/2007 09:06

Morning!
Amani - little tip and for everyone else...its easier to get back to sleep if you dont know what the time is..so good idea to point the clock away from you? I was told this when i was under the London Sleep Centre, and its one of the things I still actually use...worth a go?

gingme - when is your birthday?

I have just realised from tomorrow I can say "im due next month!!!!!" Eeeeeeeek!
Babybel is also sat really akwardly at the moment..i think i have its bum sticking out of my right side....all lobsided

sabinar · 31/10/2007 09:28

good morning everyone

well, I think I'm definitely knocking this cold on the head now, thank goodness. Can't complain as it's really only been three days, but it sure has knocked me around - have had no energy at all. Woke up this morning to a massive bleeding nose - first one of those for me. Ew.

I'm really hoping that the disrupted sleep I'm having now is due to being a bit sick... I don't know how I'm going to handle it if it goes on for another 10 weeks!

(Isn't it funny how sometimes 10 weeks is the shortest time in the world, and other times it is so long?!)

I'm really hoping that my diary stays relatively empty towards the end of this month so I can have a couple of days of just pottering about the house, maybe doing some shopping for baby gear, that kind of thing. Feel like I've been busy for ever! (OK, there was that holiday in Spain but you know how they can feel kind of busy too?)

I think a 'Welcome to the World' party is a fabulous idea. I might have one of those too

MW is coming in a couple of hours. Fingers crossed everything is well.

enough rambling for now. Hope you all have a fabulous day!

madmouse · 31/10/2007 09:40

Morning all

Hugs for all sleep deprived ladies out there. I am ok today.I hate it when DH is away for the night but there is something to be said for having the whole bed for my big pregnant self. Although lo figured out some trick of moving a leg up and down really hard on each side of my bump, so my whole bump was shaking. I was trying to sleep but ended up shaking with laughter too!!.

Amani · 31/10/2007 09:44

Beller - wrote exactly the same the thing on the 'Due in Dec' thread - tomorrow we can say we are due next month. How exciting is that!
It's true about the clock thing - I wake up night and see the time and think 'oh my gosh I only have X amount of time until I have to wake up - must get some kip' and it makes me stressed as I can't fall asleep as I am worried about how much sleep time I do have left.

Sabinar - good to know you are feeling better and hope the mw appointment goes well.

OP posts:
Lulubump · 31/10/2007 09:55

Morning all. Good luck for your DH gingeme. What did you choose for your birthday pressie? I've been so straightforward this year, and told DH exactly what I would like - some nice looking nursing bra/pants sets that don't look like something granny would wear. Have convinced DH that he would benefit from these as well!

Hope yr MW appointment goes well Sabinar.

I've had weird dreams too - dreamt I was talking in my sleep and telling DH how to play the ukelele (although I'm not even sure what that is apart from being some kind of musical instrument!!)

I've been practicing listening to my hypnobirthing cds at bedtime, and can't remember when I've last been sleeping so soundly - sorry to all the non-sleepers, not gloating! It seems to knock DH out too, and we're now finding it so funny - within 3 minutes of putting the CD on we're both merrily snoring away, and couldn't ell you what is on the remaining 40 mins or so of the CD!

Hope all the references to 'relax your birthing muscles' are not going to have strange effects on DHs subconscious !

Has anyone heard from Neuro - haven't seen any posts from her in a while, and think she was signed off sick.

madmouse · 31/10/2007 10:04

Yes, Neuro does seem to be absent. Does she have internet access at home? Hope she is ok.

Battymamma · 31/10/2007 10:14

Morning all

(hugs to all bad sleepers)

Mixedmama - i can do 19th Nov but not 29th for meet up.(not because of take that unfortunately but because of lack of babysitter!)

Beller - Crikey. I can do the 'i'm due next month tomorrow' too even though I'm sure it'll be late so i won't get hopes up. Quite scary though. Went to yoga last night and we went round saying when we were due and i was one of the ones due soon which worried me.

ayreshireloo - you must have got one of those babies who sleep with your 1st! I unfortunately put in the wrong order with my dd and got a nocturnal baby. Up all night, sleep all day. Let's see this time!

Sabinar - hope you get better soon

Lulubump - v.funny image of your dh relaxing his birth muscles.

Happy halloween by the way. Dd is going to a little party tonight as a pumpkin. She's quite angry cos she wanted to be a black cat. I am a bad mother!

fluffymummy · 31/10/2007 10:15

Morning everyone!

Much happier today as I managed about 5.5 hours sleep last night with just one toilet trip (and fell asleep again really quickly afterwards)...such an improvement, even though I'm naturally an 8 hours a night minimum person, I really didn't mind waking at 6 needing the loo again and not really getting back to sleep again afterwards too much...

I got a lot more sleep after ds was born than before - as someone else said, at least its proper sleep in between feeds, settling etc rather than pregnancy dozing

Body pillows do rock though - my mum got me one from Costco last time and it was lovely to be able to dig it out of storage a few weeks back - just like an old friend

Hope everyone's ok? Hugs all round

beller · 31/10/2007 10:15

Amani - Try it!! i havnt slept witht he clock facing me for over 3 years now..its not a total cure..but does help xx

Lulubump - my birthday is jan 5 , my sister asked me what i wanted ..and i said nursing tops and bras..she said "im not getting you somthgn for the baby!!"...[hm] How is that for the baby? Im just about to the get those cd's..i dont have a cd player in the bedroom though, so maybe have to get a little portable one?

Sabinar - hope your midwife appt goes well xx

Neuro is def off sick..not sure about the access at home?

FrankAwenstein · 31/10/2007 10:36

lol Lulubump wonder what is on th erest of the cd though.

FM - I also got a better nights sleep last night. Only up once! feel much better for it.

Sabinar - hope MW appointment is ok and you feel better soon

Amani - how exciting that as of tomorrow we can say next month. As of today can say 2 months today today, then tomorrow next month Less than 9 weeks till due date but if arrives when ds1 did less than 7 weeks and if as early as obsterician thinks could even be less than 5 weeks!

I am trying to do a baby list (like a wedding list) as family want to but stuff. Really torn on bedding choice, between aeroplane, teddies wash day and humphreys corner all from mother care. Seems such a big decision

Am meant to be catching up with housework etc... need to get myself off of MN

LilyLoo · 31/10/2007 10:48

Happy Halloween ladies
Ha d alovely weekend away and am now feeling all nice and relaxed ready to get back to all the neglected jobs at home.
Hope you all well haven't had a chance to catch up will have to look up one of mrs mc posts!
I seem to have just exploded over the weekend and am now feeling decidedly huge and out of breath when i am walking aboput for a long time!
I had a lovely back massage but had funny turn when i had my facial and thought i was going to faint! I frightened the poor girl to death and she said i have put her off having babies I think it was because i was lay down on my back for so long. I managed to carry on with it though when she propped the bed up!
Have been getting all my baby things from ebay so am going to get the cot down i think this weekend as i need somewhere to store it all!
Will pop back soon x

beller · 31/10/2007 10:54

lilyloo - how weird with the facial? I wonder if she used a weird oil or something?

We have just had an email to say Lisa Snowdon and Louise Rednapp are coming in our office today to sell tickets for comic relief....OH my god...do they know what they are letting themsleves in for?!?!?! We are an open plan office of 350 money brokers!!! All men bar 4!! This should be amusing!
