Yes it really does! Is there a particular reason for getting the harmony or did you just want more certainty? We had the harmony with our first pregnancy and had it come back with 99.9% positive for patau (which I’d never heard of and the epu at my hospital said they’d never had a case of it so extremely rare!) I’ve been debating having the harmony this time but due to covid there’s nowhere near me that’s doing it. On a reassuring note though, no news is good news! If you don’t hear for the whole two weeks, you can be pretty certain everything’s fine! We had a phone call within 3 days of ours getting sent off so if anything (which I’m sure it won’t!) was to crop up, you would hopefully hear sooner!

MWNI · 25/02/2021 19:35

@Squibble84 oh really... I didn't know that. Fingers crossed for us. We decided to do it as a friend had a mid pregnancy scare and I thought I don't want that. Was also a bonus that we got 2 scans that my husband could come to as well, given he couldn't come to the first nhs one.

Tipptopgirl · 25/02/2021 21:55

Anyone here been prescribed progesterone pessaries? I started mine today. They said how I had a previous loss and some spotting this pregnancy since 10 weeks and still browny pink spotting today at 12+2 that I should start it...

šŸ¤žšŸ¤žšŸ¤žšŸ¤ž all scans have been great so hopefully this stops any spotting

Squibble84 · 26/02/2021 13:40

@Tipptopgirl no but hopefully that stops the spotting for you! Do you have to take them all pregnancy?

Joanna1009 · 12/03/2021 16:51

Hi is anyone here high risk? I am due to my age (38), previous 32 week premmie, and a history of vaginal and section deliveries. I was told I'd be seeing a consultant but no idea when to expect this šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø currently 14 weeks and have only had my booking appointment and NT scan. Thanks.

Lindyloolou · 12/03/2021 18:46

@Tipptopgirl I’ve just been prescribed at 14 weeks due to bleeding. Turned out to be cervical ectropian - tapering off now but I think it may also have been triggered by exercise which ordinarily would be fine to do. The only thing I can thing of how it was triggered. @Joanna1009 due to the above mentioned and my recurrent losses I am now classed as high risk. Not been to the pre term clinic yet but I expect it’ll be more regular scans and appointments to keep an eye on things. X

Baileys123 · 12/03/2021 19:42

I'm on progesterone 400 and aspirin daily. 14 weeks and have had 5 scans so far šŸ™

Tipptopgirl · 13/03/2021 09:24

@Lindyloolou hi hun ! Hope it works for you. It worked a treat for me my bleeding (if ye could call it that, it was more brown discharge every now n then but everyday) after the 1st pessary it stopped completely. Im 14+4 and started them at 12+2.

@Baileys123 hey hun! I was on the cyclogest 400mg for 14 days. Finished them 2 nights ago. All good so far! Fingers crossed I have no more spotting/discharge like I did.

I have my consultant appointment Tuesday and il be 15 weeks then so I get another scan 😁 cant wait. Anyone think they have felt baby move yet? The last 2 mornings at breakfast iv felt what I think was 1 movement each morning.. could also be gas tho ;) 3rd baby 4th pregnancy so who knows although you'd think I would by now haha. Xxx

Ladies has anyone started looking at furniture and baby bits? What are your thoughts on a rocking chair to a fixed chair? I was going to go for a fixed one but curious to know what everyone else is thinking? Thanks

MrsTD88 · 16/03/2021 10:17

@MWNI we had a rocking chair with my daughter and have kept it (thankfully) I personally love it and still sit on it to read. It has a little rocking footstool too. Will be using it again this time around. They are great for feeding and rocking little one to sleep on a difficult colicky night.

Squibble84 · 16/03/2021 19:34

@MWNI I love the rocking chairs! Ours broke so debating buying a new one!

MWNI · 16/03/2021 20:08

@Squibble84 @MrsTD88 sooo many people have said to me they haven't used the rocking feature! How mad? If I do go for one I want a nice looking one, that can be used after as well. Need to find one.

Tipptopgirl · 19/03/2021 15:33

@MWNI loved ours!! Had a cream one with a matching rocking foot stool too, used it on my 2 kids and then my mum got a knee replacement so i gave it to her but now we moved house theres no room for it... gutted. Guess il be pacing floors on rough nights lol the old fashioned way.

I bought a silicon breast pump to catch let down (on sale for €6!) And a hedgehog teddy that mimics my heartbeat & breathing to sooth little one (again huge sale at €7)... nothing else bought il be waiting a while now.

Anyone bought any bits yet?? Xxx

MamaPheebz · 20/03/2021 14:04

I haven’t bought anything yet. I had 2 miscarriages last year though so still being a bit cautious. I have a gender scan booked in just over a week so might get a couple of bits after that.
I also love my rocking chair. Think I’m going to get a foxed footstool though as the rocking stool annoys me because you can’t push against it.

Fourleafclover93 · 22/03/2021 10:38

@Tipptopgirl I bought a few baby gros/sleepsuits last week after my 12 week scan last week. Not buying any big stuff for a while yet since I've had 2 mcs

Tipptopgirl · 24/03/2021 09:25

@MamaPheebz @Fourleafclover93
Iv had 1 mc and its 100% the reason why I haven't bought more. It really holds you back doesnt it. Im 16 weeks now and still think ah I better not just incase. This baby is our rainbow baby.. possibly completing our family but Im not sure yet if I'm done after this baby šŸ˜‚

MamaPheebz · 24/03/2021 10:19

Yes it really does. I won’t be having any more. I can’t put myself through the stress and worry of it all. Just hoping I get to hold this little one in my arms.
I have my scan on Tuesday and then told myself I need to jump in feet first and start enjoying this pregnancy.

Tipptopgirl · 25/03/2021 17:08

@MamaPheebz totally understand, its such a stressful time to go through.. yes enjoy every single day ā¤ positive thoughts, everything is going to be fine xx

I heard my babies heartbeat today šŸ˜ 150bpm im so happy. Hoping I feel movement soon šŸ¤ž I dont get seen again now until im 23 weeks xxx 6 week 5 day countdown is on šŸ˜‚

Fatmunks · 18/05/2021 15:54

Hi all. Due end of September! How is everybody doing? x

Tipptopgirl · 18/05/2021 20:20

@Fatmunks congratulations! Im due first week in September. All good here, baby is kicking up a storm. How are you feeling?

Frrreyarose · 18/05/2021 20:34

Thanks for starting the convo again @Fatmunks. All ok my end thanks. Also due end sept (26th). My placenta is anterior which is was for my first too...but it makes me nervous as I don’t feel kicks often. Otherwise all is well Smile

Carsbars · 18/05/2021 22:06

Hi everyone. I'm also due in September, the 14th but I'm having an elective section so will be a week earlier roughly. All good here although getting a few pains and niggles here and there which always puts me on edge but trying not to worry! X

MrsTD88 · 18/05/2021 22:13

Hey everyone. Due 27 September, having an elective section too so baby will be here about a week before. Had my 20 week scan yesterday but they couldn't get all the measurements so back again next week. My placenta is anterior but this is second baby and been feeling some strong movements which is exciting.

Fatmunks · 19/05/2021 11:33

Nice to hear that so many of us are doing well :) Baby is definitely stronger everyday. Yesterday I felt a big push right in my small intestines that sent me into an involuntary fit of giggles, so feeling very pleased. Also found out that lying on my side on top of a flat pillow eases sleep discomforts almost immeasurably.

How is everybody's sleep?

At what point is lying on the back an absolute no? I'm finding that to be the most comfortable position and having to create a full-on nest with cushions and pillows to avoid reverting to back.

x

Tipptopgirl · 24/05/2021 12:38

My sleep is good, I wake once for a loo trip usually around 3am/4am then back to sleep till iv to start getting ready for school runs. I keep finding myself waking up on my back!! Gonna have to start propping myself, im 25 weeks tomorrow, due September 7th. My placenta is high and the back, I had my anomaly scan last week and I have to go back at 32 weeks to double check 1 of babys kidneys as there was a small bit of fluid in it, however she wasnt concerned, said it may have been ready to do a pee 🤭

Anyone had any braxton hicks yet? Iv had a few, painless of course but I didnt get any at all with my last pregnancy so feels so new (this is my 4th pregnancy but 3rd baby)
