@Tipptopgirl sorry for personal question but do you have this after a bowel movement or after intercourse?
I had some spotting and brown discharge up until last week and I'm 12 weeks plus 2 now and all ok. So can be completely fine 😊

Tipptopgirl · 20/02/2021 00:19

@indigo27 no not after bowel movement but have had it after intercourse (2 weeks ago and this is when it all started really so been too scared to do it again). Today iv had brown discharge 4 times at loo trips. Doesnt go onto my underwear just when I wipe. Im cramping too. Just went for last wee before sleep and it was milky light brown discharge. How long did you have your brown discharge for indigo?? I had a scan 3 days ago and all was perfect so I dont wanna turn up yet again wanting another unless I really think I need one. Im 11+3 but baby is measuring 4 days ahead (so 12w to them) but im sticking with my dates.
My head is all over the place tbh. Thought the discharge had stopped since the last 3 loo trips iv had no colour, now its back 😫😫

indigo27 · 20/02/2021 08:28

@Tipptopgirl hey hun xx
I've had it on and off especially after sex.
I've had a previous lletz procedure (cells removed from my cervix) a couple years back and they think this is the cause for my overly sensitive cervix.
I still freak everytime I see the blood though but the midwife said this can be completely normal and that once past 12 weeks unless I'm soaking a pad in an hour I shouldn't worry as a little bit of spotting can be completely normal. Still don't like it but trying to reassure myself as every scan I've had baby is absolutely fine xx

Tipptopgirl · 20/02/2021 10:23

@indigo27 omg hun iv had a lletz treatment too when I was 25 so maybe thats my reason too! So i woke up during the night, nothing, woke up just now and nothing but then TMI I done a bowel movement and there was some brown now when I say some I mean a small amount which is the smallest amount iv had yet, especially after a 10 hour space of nothing šŸ¤žšŸ¤ž iv not had any fresh blood at all only brown so im really hoping its all ok.
Do you cramp much?? Im pretty much cramping after just walking to the bathroom, if I rest im fine, as soon as i get up im crampy again šŸ¤”

GummyBear91 · 20/02/2021 10:44

@Tipptopgirl and @indigo27

I had my booking appointment yesterday and because I had the LLETZ procedure in 2019 I've been referred to the Fetal Medicine team to monitor my cervix. Have either of you had that aswell? I'm only 8w4d so know nothing will happen for a while but wondered if you have any extra information?

I haven't had any bleeding or discharge but I'm also top scared to have sex just in case! I think once I've had my scan I might be more relaxed Grin

indigo27 · 20/02/2021 11:29

@Tipptopgirl @GummyBear91
I would defo say it's due to the lletz
I contacted jo's cervical trust where you can ask questions to their experts and this was the response I got

"Thank you for your question. Please be aware my response is based on the information provided and without access to your medical notes or the benefit of a personal examination.

Bleeding like this in pregnancy is more than likely due to the previous LLETZ treatment. This exposes the tissue from inside the cervix, these cells are more reactive to the pregnancy and hormones and can bleed easily as you have described. I would however mention it to your GP/midwife as someone should examine the cervix to confirm this.

Overall, the risk of abnormal cells returning is very low."

Yes I have been referred to have my cervix monitored, I had to have an internal exam Thursday just gone to check my cervix was closed and that it was long enough after having lletz- I was so worried about this but everything was completely fine- she said theyll regular check it and worst case scenario I'll just need a little stitch. They weren't concerned at all and agreed with this statement from Jo's trust that the lletz is more than likely the cause of my spotting after sex and particularly difficult bowel movements. I did have a little cramping too but was told this was my womb and everything stretching which is normal. Xx

GummyBear91 · 20/02/2021 15:53

@indigo27 Thanks, that's really reassuring. I'm going to call the midwife next week just to check when I should expect my first internal scan as I forgot to ask at my booking appointment.

Fingers crossed everything continues well for you Smile

Tipptopgirl · 20/02/2021 21:15

@GummyBear91 @indigo27
I went and got checked out, all is perfect. But she did say my cervix could be weakened off the lletz treatment so in just over a week i have an internal scan booked to check the length of my cervix. Im so so nervous incase they decide i need a stitch!! Doesnt sound very pleasant. Please god all is ok for all of us ā¤

I have a pic of my brown discharge but I dunno if thats waaaay too TMI to post šŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚ did you only spot after sex & bowel movements indigo? Or regularly? Xxxx

Iv had 2 lots of it today. Like the milky light brown colour.

indigo27 · 21/02/2021 08:06

@Tipptopgirl so glad everything is ok xx
So after sex and bowel movement I would have bright red blood just a small amount and then for the next day or so some brown discharge xx

Tipptopgirl · 21/02/2021 11:47

@indigo27 ah ok.. so I first got it after intercourse then havent had it since im too scared! But the brown has continued on n off since then šŸ¤” xxxx

Lindyloolou · 21/02/2021 18:03

Hi. Hope I can join? I’m due 9th September. Nausea kicked in week 8 and the past 3 days have been really bad - feeling sick all night and all day. I’ve had about 2 hours sleep a night. I though by week 11 things should be getting better - anyone suffered the same?

Lindyloolou · 21/02/2021 18:04

Also interesting to hear about possible affects of lletz. My midwife said having had one round of treatment 9 years ago should affect things but should I push to be monitored more closely?

Tipptopgirl · 22/02/2021 10:23

@lindyloolou hi hun! Im due September 7th 😁 were very close!

So after 9yrs id hope you dont have any side effects at all in your pregnancy. My lletz procedure was nearly 4yrs ago so tbh if the reason im having brown now n then thats defo a side effect šŸ˜‚ other than that i have low back cramps on n off too.

Yesterday I took it so easy, walked slowly and stood/sat carefully and I only had 1 lot of brown which wasnt actually much at all. Today iv had 1 strand of brown in regular CM so im cool with that, just hope today goes as well as yesterday šŸ¤ž

By 1 round of treatment do you mean you have had 1 lletz procedure?

Xxxx

Lindyloolou · 22/02/2021 14:00

@Tipptopgirl Yep one lletz and three colposcopies. The things we have to deal with eh?! Glad to hear things have calmed down your side. Xx

Tipptopgirl · 23/02/2021 16:23

@Lindyloolou tell me about it huh! My internal scan is this day next week and my booking scan is the same day..
Feeling nervous! How was it for u @indigo27?

Im 12 weeks today ā¤

indigo27 · 23/02/2021 17:01

@Tipptopgirl it was absolutely fine not painful or anything they just had a quick look at my cervix and it was all over pretty quickly xx

Joanna1009 · 24/02/2021 15:30

Hi everyone....I had my repeat scan today at 11+5 to make sure a bleed last week isn't affecting baby (which it isn't thank goodness). What does anyone think about Ramzi, nubs and skull theories? Pic attached! TIA

Squibble84 · 24/02/2021 19:08

Hello all and congrats on your pregnancies! I’ve been lurking but waited for my 12 week scan to say hello due to previous losses. All looking good though and my due date is 6th September. Does anyone still have morning sickness? Mine has shown no sign of disappearing! 😭

Squibble84 · 24/02/2021 19:10

@Joanna1009 I’m not sure what you mean by Ramzi, nubs and skull theories! Is that to do with the gender? That’s great all was well with the scan though!

Joanna1009 · 24/02/2021 19:14

@Squibble84 hi thanks for replying! Yes apparently they're all 'theories' you can use to determine gender. Me and my OH have decided not to formally find out the gender but I still love all the unproved stuff like this and the old wives tails (because I know they're all just 50/50 at the end of the day šŸ˜‚). Ramzi is to do with the location of the placenta, nub is to do with the genitalia nub that would have formed and what direction it's in, and skull is to do with males and females having different shaped skulls....apparently!

Squibble84 · 24/02/2021 20:32

Ah ok! Might have to take another look at my scan pics! šŸ˜‚ we’ve also decided not to find out - we already have a DD and have loads of baby bits and neutral clothes so thought we’d keep this one as a surprise! Is this your first?

MWNI · 25/02/2021 12:04

Hey all. Got an email re the harmony saying it was inconclusive so I have to go and redo the test! It's because I was earlier in the pregnancy than expected! Due 10th Sept. I was so annoyed - to wait another 2 weeks for results feels like forever! Gah! I just want everything to be ok and to tell everyone the news! Hardest secret to keep or what!?

Squibble84 · 25/02/2021 18:03

@MWNI that’s so frustrating! Is there not anyway they can fast track it?

MWNI · 25/02/2021 18:34

@Squibble84 I asked them that but that was ignored in the reply lol - I will ask again when I go on Saturday. The first trimester really tests your patience doesn't it!? As long as everything is fine that's the main thing but I just want to know.
