Hi all 👋🏻

Here's a new thread so we can keep chatting through the sleepless nights and the many outfits they've already grown out of... 😄

@Chanel05 oh wow that remaining time will just fly by! Good luck! Have you got a hospital grab bag packed just in case?

Do you feel like this pregnancy is going a lot quicker than the last one? I'm not sure whether that was the lockdown effect/groundhog Day of last time or because this time is just generally busier with a toddler as well but to me it seems like it's going so much quicker. I'm at the half way point now, scan next week! Seems to be going ok - I guess I'll find out more next week.

How are you feeling at this point?

Butterflytulip · 21/12/2022 05:18

@Chanel05 omg have you just had your baby?!! Sorry I missed your last message, you'll know soon enough, your hands will be super full!!!

Butterflytulip · 21/12/2022 05:19

@Margo34 how are you feeling?
Once it's the new year, time will start flying for you!!

Margo34 · 21/12/2022 14:38

@Butterflytulip I'm feeling ok thanks! Tired all the time still though but otherwise all good! ☺️ How old is your littlest one now? Has the madness of having 2 started to settle down yet??

@Chanel05 hope your ELCS goes (or went?) well!! 🤞 Best of luck to you!

Butterflytulip · 21/12/2022 15:15

@Margo34 aww I remember the tiredness well!! Actually I'm still tired!! Littl one is almost 4 months and my eldest is exactly 2 years older!! It's a handful but lovely!!
Our nursery said to give baby very little attention especially at the start and it worked for us, no jealously at all.
@Chanel05 dying to hear your news :)

Margo34 · 22/12/2022 11:31

@Butterflytulip aww lovely age gap 😍 it'll be good as they get bigger and play together easier! My LO will be 2.5 when baby arrives, and is sooooo bossy atm! I suspect we'll have a lot of jealousy so will need to be careful, so thank you for your useful tip! Everyone has said sort the toddler first then the baby as well so similar I guess! I'm not going to ask about sleep....but I hope your get some soon!!!

Chanel05 · 22/12/2022 13:47

@Margo34 @Butterflytulip hello! Baby boy was born on Friday 16th! I was due to have my c section today but he had other ideas and didn't want to wait.

Went into labour in the afternoon and 3 hours later I was 9cm. Front waters were still there but I was told as soon as they went, he'd need to be delivered as a vbac. I decided I still wanted the section and held on to them for a few hours whilst waiting for theatre. All went smoothly Smile. I think the staff thought I was mad not going for a vbac (especially since I'd really wanted one after my first birth, which was very traumatic) as he was going to be out easily. I realised that it wasn't about giving birth a different way but for me having control and being listened to, which I was.

Margo34 · 22/12/2022 20:22

@Chanel05 aww that's amazing news and a nice birth story too! I'm glad you felt respected and listened too, you must have a good maternity team around you! Congratulations on your little boy and I hope you recover quickly 💙

Butterflytulip · 23/12/2022 03:53

Yay @Chanel05 congrats!! How are you finding it with two? Hope your ok x

Chanel05 · 22/02/2023 13:21

@Margo34 how's your pregnancy going?

@Butterflytulip how are your two? You must nearly be at the weaning stage by now!

DS is now 9 weeks old. Growing so quickly 💙

Margo34 · 24/02/2023 22:37

@Chanel05 eeep 9weeks old already?! Time is flying! How is it going with 2? It's easy, isn't it? 🙏And @Butterflytulip you'll say the same, yes?! 🤞😂 Genuine question for you both but feel free to not answer - I'm so worried that my toddler will always be my favourite, is it possible to not have a favourite? Did either of you have this feeling before baby number 2 arrived?!

I'm about 33w now and feel huge and waddle-y but otherwise all going well! Only 5w until mat leave (I work 2 days a week) and it cannot come soon enough. We're about to start tackling potty training the toddler but I'm not entirely sure it's the best time being close to becoming a big sibling!? Definitely seems ready though, we've been putting it off since the start of Winter 🙈

MooseWL · 28/02/2023 05:21

Hey all ☺️
Oooh hoe exciting @Margo34 we are also ready for potty training. Been bare bum in the house for weeks and been fine but I've not fully committed cos I can't face the thought of a few days in the house to tackle it properly!!
I've just found out I'm pregnant with no 2. Very early days but absolutely terrified!

Margo34 · 28/02/2023 07:51

@MooseWL we started potty training from full on nappies to nothing - had a full bare bummed weekend and then nursery yesterday....only one accident at nursery!!! One!!!! In 10 hours at nursery! And used the potty there like a pro, even reminding one of the staff who said time for a nappy change 'no, I need the potty now'. Proud mum face 😁

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's exhausting this time round with a toddler, but when the kicks start 😍 hope you have a smooth pregnancy!

MooseWL · 28/02/2023 09:01

@Margo34 oh amazing she's done so well! Did you do commando at nursery? Because I don't make him wear a nappy at home he's now starting to refuse to put one on on nursery days so I do really need to do it properly soon!

Yep- and I'm already feeling nauseous. I didn't even know I was pregnant at this point last time 😅 so it's going to be rough.
How has your pregnancy been this time? It's almost making me sad about my covid pregnancy and all the things I didn't get to do just thinking about how different it will be this time!

Butterflytulip · 28/02/2023 09:16

Hey @Chanel05 wow the time is flying fast!!! Can't believe my 2 are 6 months and 2.5yrs!!! It's such a lovely time with all the chat. Potty training not so much fun!!! She talks about it and sits in potty but is still happy in nappies! We just gave up the dummy last weekend, going ok so far!!

Awwww @Margo34 congrats to you!! You don't have long to go at all. you have all the lovely warm summer weather to look forward to with walks with bubs. Do you know what you are having? There's never a good time to bring in a sibling!! Just make sure you involve toddler in all things baby!!

@MooseWL congrats to you too!!! Hope your pregnancy journey goes smooth 🥰

Margo34 · 28/02/2023 14:32

@MooseWL yeah we sent her commando in jogging bottoms and with a massive bag of spare joggers and socks along with trainers and wellies (like, 8 or 9 pairs of trousers and socks for a 10hr day), we told nursery the day before and hoped for the best! Nursery said they'd rather have crocs or jelly shoes - wipeaple shoes so if they do get wet they can be cleaned and dried quickly and shoved back on busy feet, but wellies would do. I'd imagine if you've had barebum at home for ages already and it's been going well then you'll be fine at nursery 🤞 good luck! I'm glad we've bitten the bullet and got on with it now, probably could have done it sooner though. First time mum indecision problem, maybe?!

Pregnancy this time has been fine after a few issues at the start, I was put on progesterone for the first 14 or so weeks. Seems like so long ago now! But it has been so lovely to 'share' my pregnancy journey (for want of a better word) and by that I mean to be able to go out, see people/friends/family/colleagues and for them to get excited with and for me. I've seen my midwife so much this time round as well, massive difference to 2020 pregnancy for sure. But the difficulty has been not being able to nap or do pilates whenever I felt like it and actually having to buy maternity clothes instead of just living in DH oversized t-shirts 😆 I wouldn't say I've been sad about 2020 pregnancy and all the things we missed out on, just enjoying it all so much more for it this time 😊

Margo34 · 28/02/2023 14:38

@Butterflytulip your littlest is 6m already!! Wow that has gone quick. Hope weaning goes ok!

We didn't find out if it's a girl or boy, although everyone tells me I'm carrying the bump like a boy (but they also said the same last time and were wrong)! DH thinks it'll be a girl, by probability within my family between nieces/nephews. Who knows! Toddler has very much enjoyed taking charge of shopping for clothes for new baby and I'm sure will be fabulous as an older sibling.... eventually 😬

sianyflewog · 19/04/2023 07:24

Hi everyone! Been a long time but was thinking of everyone this morning. Hope you’re all doing ok and terrible two’s aren’t too bad 🙈

Margo34 · 20/04/2023 12:22

@sianyflewog hope you are doing ok! I'm awaiting the arrival of Baby2 any day now, overdue and grumpy 😔 but toddler is doing great, little independent person over here!

Oh how exciting, fingers crossed you’re not waiting too much longer. Independent, stubborn toddlers! My eldest is now 6 and Eve is a different kettle of fish to him and how he’s ever been! She keeps us all on our toes 😂

MooseWL · 22/04/2023 08:22

@Margo34 I've been thinking of you! Hope they come soon! I'm now 12 weeks with number 2 it's been rough but hopefully the worst trimester is over!
@sianyflewog aw good to hear from you! My toddler is also wild 🤣 hilarious but never stops and loves to test boundaries at the moment! We're finally going to potty train next weekend (was going to do it a couple of months ago but I felt too ill in first trimester!)

Margo34 · 22/04/2023 09:29

@MooseWL congratulations on your pregnancy! Hope it all goes smoothly from here for you 🤞

Baby 2 arrived yesterday morning breakfast time, spontaneously at 40+5, 7lb 15oz, VERY quick birth, almost didn't make it to hospital 🙈 Good luck!!!

sianyflewog · 22/04/2023 12:07

Ahhhh massive congratulations @Margo34 A baby boy or girl?

Congratulations on baby #2 to you too @MooseWL - hope the next trimester is easier for you! Xx

MooseWL · 24/04/2023 09:36

@Margo34 congratulations! Enjoy the newborn snuggles (and I imagine the chaos that comes with having 2!) Was it a very different birth to your first?

Margo34 · 24/04/2023 16:31

@MooseWL it was a totally different experience to my first! So much more positive the second time around! And way, way quicker 🙈 Born just after breakfast and home by mid afternoon.

First - 2 sweeps, 30hr long, assisted, ventouse episiotomy, meconium asphyxiation and 5day stay in NICU. Quite traumatic all considered.

Second - refused sweeps, spontaneous labour, 8hrs all in from start of show and first twinge in the middle of the night to babe in arms. Barely 15m from arriving at hospital door, pushing to hello baby. Minor graze but no cuts or tears, and no time for pain relief bar a couple of puffs of gas n air. So way more natural. Felt very empowered afterwards!

MW has strongly suggested I should go for a homebirth if there is a next time 🤭😳
